they like red devil in pairs some time they dont be on da same page and da jewel fish try 2 inatiate they own kind when there other breeds of fish in da tank so they kill each other before they kill other breed i had all fish as babies like 1 to 2 inches in 150 gallon devils,firemouth,pike,redbelli­es,jewels,convicts,manges jags,texas,dovi,jacks,butterko­f,wolf,umbee,mahanni,etc,no rhom or elong

I have two young jewels. One was so aggressive I had to remove it and put it in another make shift tank. The other one gets along well with the firemouth in the other tank. I am keeping a close eye on them for now. Can some Jewels be more laid back than others?

lol... Jewels are dicks... careful of them man... very well know to be biiiig time fin nippers on your other Cichlids..  so if you like your others better be prepared to bounce that fish

VERY TRUE i just lost all my other fish cause of a jewel in one day...3 african cichlids in one day and a giant danios face got got just like that gold fish lol
