You know, it's a wonder the Padre and Senor Torres couldn't recognize who Zorro was, when de la Vega had just been in their midst, and now was not! he he!!
I am surprised at how much I liked that episode! I love how religion and peaceful prayer/spirituality are so positively portrayed. Of course, becuase of convention, Zorro has to ride in and save the day, but they DID show the alternative of a peaceful solution through spirituality. Props to them for giving us at least that moment.
@miraculom Tornado and Monastario's horse were brave in this episode. I mean, how many horses do you know who will stand there and take it while their riders try to whip each other to pieces above them? If I were Monastario's horse, I'd probably bolt the first time Zorro cracked his whip at Monastario!
Wow. I did not think it was possible to hate Garcia so much as I do in this episode. He's got human beings been needlessly abused right beside him and he sits there trying to work out why they're now having to build the road the other way? Jerk.
It's clear that this show was made under inspiration of the 1940's Mark of Zorro starring Tyrone Power. The plots, the humour, the costumes, everything reminds that old classic masterpiece. This one is even better, starring the amazing Guy Williams. You americans really do great stuffs, despite some of you being really arrogant.
I completely agree with you, although I believe that Mark of Zorro had better swordfight - the final battle was simply marvelous! The fencing here is very good, but what I saw on Mark of Zorro I didn't see anywhere else. However, the plot is much more interesting in this series as it is more sophisticated and the villans seem to be more serious.
@asmodeus585 I agree. TheMark of Zorro was big budget. But that whole "gold mine" sequence had an uninteresting story. Ultimately a story has to be about PEOPLE...not "big sets". Many of the early James Bond movies suffered from that emphasis on big sets over human interaction.
Disney has released Season 1 and (I believe) Season 2 on DVD. If I'm wrong, then there'll be season 2 volume 1. There's still four episodes of season three and two hour long "specials." Amazon has some from sellers, and you can find other websites by using the search engines. Video quality might be an issue by not buying an officially released version.
This show is awesome. My grandparents were 16 and 14 in '57, if that lets you know anything about my age... I wish they'd play this on TV as a rerun; nearly all of the new shows are crap. That whip-fight between Zorro and the commandante was awesome. Viva senor Zorro!
whooo tish tish tish whoo tish tish tish tish whoo whoo whoo whoo tish tish tish... BAHWAHAHAHAHA its the same sound over and over... gosh i miss this show... thanks!!!

as California's folk hero, a statue of Zorro should have been build in L.A..
