I bought this game about 7 years ago, played it for about a year, and then stopped. Now, 7 years later, I started to play this game again, and I gotta tell ya, its more enjoyable then most of the recent games!!!! Anyone else still playing this game?

you play in tortoise mode, and child mode, i play in 70 or 80 velocity and the hardest and toughest mode.

I thought this was an excellent game...however if your into controlling massive armies, and pillaging villages...this is not your game...but if you like Simcity...this would definately be the game for you...except its more interactive...its like half Sims half simcity

I think it was made by BreakAway Games in conjunction with Impressions (who made Caesar/Pharaoh). It has the same game mechanics but the most updated graphics in the 2D series.

I think this is the best citybuilder from the series due to the way you can manage exports, prices, millitary, building acces (u can have the salt mine in the stony part of the map and it HAS workers this time), multiplayer.

Click on Religion tab, then click the actual word in the top-right.

@St4rdog can you do that on random map?...cos thats what i mostly use atm while tryign to get back into the game and cant find that ancestors tab nor get any monuments...mind you ive got the spainish version so dunno if that makes a difference or not

Some maps don't allow monuments I think. You can create an Open Play map and choose what monuments you want to be available.

Click the Yin Yang symbol, then click the large yellow word in the top-right to give donations to ancestors. It doesn't really look like a button.

earning money is very very important in this game. If you live in a community of agressive neighboring cities then you will need an army. To support a large armies u need elite housing and a large, high lvl population of normal housing and strong resources. every year, ur money stash drain from either building houses or paying wages. TO make money you either make products and sell to other cities, use cheats, build tax offices, or attack other towns and get tributes. Trading and tribute are best

You can build a tax office and increase taxes, or build a trading station to sell stuff you have. Go to the world map and find a city to trade with first.

It's by BreakAway, published by Sierra. They made a Pharaoh expansion and this. Impressions made the originals, but this game is exactly the same.

Its so sad that Impression games aren't making these kinds of games anymore. I think because the majority of the population don't prefer this anymore because they are to busy blowing off heads with shotguns and mass murder to think about some real games. I still think Shooter games are fun though

I like making my own maps designed to promote an army, then after I'm done recruting an army, accomplish an easy task to move onto the next stage where I send enemy troops into my city, then my uber army owns them. =P

Donate loads of goods to a god. Click the Religion word in the top-right, then select the god you want to give stuff to until it says they're Exhalted above their head.
