@cornelious, doesn't that say NFL is even sisser than ballet. Why would NFL players need a helmet and pads if they're (apparently) physically stronger anyway - they should be prepared to take any hit as they are. And if the small shorts are seen as gay then wwe and athletics must also be.
cornelias you have no fucking idea...go shoot ur zombies on computer you no doubt fat lazy Gaylord slob....you're beyond dumb and just look at the crap you've written and replies given....says plenty about you fucknut
@Jay4P just cause you can hurt yourself doesnt mean its not gay. you could trip and crack your skull while mincing around doing ballet, but it still isnt manly. those shorts are too short, and the fact that no protective gear is required means this game is for pansies.
@corneliusvanDB How can you say that NOT wearing projective gear makes this a game for pansies? Are you bat shit stupid? Not wearing protective gear shows how hard the players have to work to physically condition themselves for this game. Perhaps you should research the sport properly then you would realize how hard you have to be to play this game, especially at a professional level. I don't care what sport you play or support or how tough it may be but don't go knocking AFL, its no pansy sport
@corneliusvanDB cornelius my boy..... you are a dozy cunt. So, spandex tights are chuck norris manly compared to blokes in what are effectively running shorts (seeing as AFL players actually run for extended periods of time rather than sit around for the majority of the game a la the NFL). And being so petrified of actual physical injury to the point of being encased in armour is waaaaayyyy tougher than nail hard fuckers running into brutal physical contact with, at most, a mouthguard. Retard.
Holy crap. I suffered the SAME injury about 15 months ago playing footy against Nambour on the Sunshine Coast. I copped a knee in my face just like that. It was probably the worst thing I have ever had to go through. I still suffer from weird panic attacks even now when driving or going for a surf. I still don't feel the same bloke as I did before I got wacked. Good on you Hirdy for achieveing the role as Coach for the Dons. It so gives me hope that I can achieve great things one day as well...

im a collingwood supporter, but i have to say that hird was as tough as they come - cant imagine many more players coming back from an injury like this, but hird did it
@kryptonite747 yeah im with u. i dont go for essendon and yet i think hird was an awesome player, a great leader and always just puttin shit behind him and movin on. this shows just how tuff he was, when the docs then said his injuries were as bad a car accident victim and he ended up with metal plates in his face. GO HIRD!
he's as tough as they come. I was born in ess, and lived in WA at this time. the next time he ran out at subi, they boo'd him. I was disgusted. he took it all in his stride, but I was blowing up!! Legend.
