  • What the hell is an evolutionist?

  • From the number of negative comments, I'd be tempted to say it seems PPSimmons only has two friends out there... so much for christian solidarity (another myth).

  • I'm a programmer. I work with a guy who's christian.

    He's shit.

Everyday I have to fix all his problems because he can't even think logically and rationally enough to debug his own code, or even to create a solution for something that needs doing. It's appalling. Every time I have to help him now it just pisses me off. We are way beyond it being a knowledge issue; I have to solve problems almost everyday that I don't have solutions for.

It's called logical thinking, and he can't do it.

  • Wait... PP's a computer programmer? Damnit, I thought my kind -- programmers, that is -- were above such BS. *sigh*

  • oh slap! nice work/ i just debucked this guy but you did such a better job.

  • Mister dinosaur man, we have actually created something almost similar, The holograms on those old video tape boxes, like the little mickey mouse wizard on disney videos

  • At 7:30 Where did this whole lightning strike thing come from? I hear creationists say it a lot.

  • @SuperZuescannon it's all about the whole primordial soup theory; amino acids were struck by lightning, and they stung themselves together with this energy to form a basic enzyme/protein

  • @JeremEastwoodSmith Mmmm, not exactly. It's more the idea that the primordial soup had to have SOME sort of catalyst to begin forming organic chemicals, and a likely example of something that could have caused this is lightning.

  • @BigLundi My apologies, maybe i didn't word it in quite a manner, but that seems to be better than my mix and match answer. That is pretty much what i meant, and thank you for elaborating on my intergection

  • Your videos are ace!!! Don't ever apologise for calling a 'non-intellectualy educated person, who spouts a lot of words propounding theories with no basis or evidence' stupid!!

  • PPSimmons is 1 Creatard whose videos I can't watch anymore. I can't take one person telling so many lies in such a short period of time.

In the 5 years I've been on YT, I can say that, without a doubt, the Christian element, namely; Apologists, Creationists, and Fundies, are the most deceptive and dishonest bunch, I've ever come across. Initially, I had no idea that so-called Christians could resort to such lowly tactics as they do. Lying seems to be 2nd nature to them.

    Such despicable people.

  • Congratulations! You just won a new subscriber.

  • The music volume in ratio to your voice makes it difficult for me to make out what you're saying, I'm afraid.

  • @Jotto999 This is one of the earlier videos in which I used voice, so it took me a while to strike the right audio balance and I don't get this (justifiable) complaint any more.

  • @TheLivingDinosaur Thank you for the response. In fact, with that said, don't let me slight your efforts - I frankly love your videos, and you strike me as a very interesting person to listen to, even when unscripted I'm sure.

  • One can learn more from watching the skidmarks dry on the inside of a toiletbowl at your local gasstation than from watching a PPSimmons video.

It's also more pleasant and leaves you with less a feeling of nausea

  • I love how he insulted Evolution by calling it "faith", it's so deliciously ironic.

  • Haha, i just got to 10:05 and you imply the same as my previous comment....:) Great work.

  • When simmons refers to scientists as "silly" it shows how absolute and close minded he is, these creationists need to give credit where it belongs.

  • more people that say God did it then say there is scientific proof that God didn't do it.

  • one thing i never understood on tv you can watch religious shows on many channels at any time of day why aren't there programs about evolution and science i mean yes they are on once in a while sprinkled here and there but not nearly as many as religion, just a guess but i would say out of every ten religious channels may find only one science channel and even those do not really go in dept,i would think scientific studies now days would be of interest, anyway that is my guess why there is

  • Please explain that complexity does NOT arise from random chance; it comes from natural selection.

  • Amphibians deserve more respect than that. How dare you. ;P

  • How du you know when you come a crossed a christians YT channel?

No commenst or video respons are alowed. So the picture of the christian putting his fingers in his ears, are probely the best way to explain how their retatared brains work.

  • Your voice sounds a lot nicer and your latest videos :)

  • You are my favorite youtuber.

    GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR.

  • GRAAVITYY

  • If people can replicate some complex system found in nature, isn't that evidence against ID, because it would be too complex to be designed by anyone?

    Just asking.

  • PPSimmons sounds amusingly like EdwardCurrent.

  • 10:32 "W00T" says the arrogant Linux Elitist

  • I agree wholeheartedly with the last point. Using the very fruits of a methodology that gets him to and from work, that gives him the ability to make videos...that cures him and feeds him! He then uses those to make proclamations about how 'silly' a group of people who created almost everything he uses is...whilst insisting at the same time that fucking snakes can talk?!? and doing so with no requirement to produce evidence? he doesn't even think he needs to provide an excuse!

    Arrogant prick!

  • I have a question to ask:

But before I make let me be clear that I believe truly in evolution but my question is:

Is it possible that a species can suffer and abrupt mutation and evolve from there on? When I refer to abrupt mutation I suggest a change from one generation to the next so drastic that it can actually be another species or something similar to that. I tried looking for information about that but I find it hard to understand.

Thank you and keep up with the excellent videos.

  • @usa303 No that is not possible... the Hardy–Weinberg principle mathematically prohibits this from occurring... unless it happened somehow to all members of the population of breeding age simultaneously.

Evolution occurs to a population... any mutation or trait solely in one individual is 'w\shed' out by the other members of the group.

  • @MumblingMickey thank you for your response

  • @usa303 You're welcome. Oddly this is a common misconception... even Darwin thought a single individual could affect the overall population. Its a lot more complex than that.

Of course Darwin didn't know anything about allele frequency... or genetics at all!

The bottom line is mutations accumulate over time with no affect on a population whatsoever...either positive or negative until a change in environmental pressure forces the population to breed in adverse circumstances.

  • In the beginning Adam and Even enjoyed the world and made for themselves a beautiful garden. But one day a serpent, let’s call it religion, said “I can show you a much better world. But you must deny this world and when you die you can live forever in my world, heaven” They both like this idea and their garden fell to ruin and the universal language of science was lost to them. Instead they and their descendants dreamed of heaven and became cruel and ignorant.

  • It's creeping me out that at the end of the intro music i can almost hear my old pastor saying "Let us all pray". I had all but forgotten the indoctrination, that is still preformed in danish schools to this day, just a little funny that believers here are only about 30% of the population.

  • These videos really would be better to follow if you turned down the music a notch.

  • No doubt PPSimmons is intentionally lying and trying to confuse people. He probably works for a pastor scamming poor ignorant people out of their money, if only someone could come up with a motive as to why scientists would lie.

  • did you have to show that monkeys ass?

  • "you also jump onto the word design like a preacher on a rent boy," HAHAHHAA. master of analogy.

  • The pictures in this video fit so well with the dialogue. Two thumbs up!

  • Show me someone who says sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, and I'll show you someone who's never watched Mind of Mencia.

  • HAHA! On behalf of Roane County, TN I would like to thank you for the shout out. Great videos though. Just so you know, we rationalists are abundant in hillbilly hell as well, we're just grossly outnumbered.

  • Brilliant.

  • I subbed to your channel yesterday... You are one of my new favorite people! :)

  • Keep destroying these creationists and "sciencing" (I don't think that's a word), man. I'm hoping to become a biochemist, myself. Great job on that last part. What is with them and their personal insults to scientists? Do they think that if there were no scientists, the status quo would persist? They spend the time that they would otherwise use to scrape up food and run from predators, insulting the very delicate system that gave them the means to do so, and that provides their sustenance.

  • epic last word!

  • This video made me stand up and cheer! Well done on another hit out of the park. I just subscribed an hour ago and am already a huge fan. I await with baited breath for your next video.

  • I think I will subscribe to you ole' chap. Note: dprjones made me aware of your channel

  • hahahaha, brilliant. Subbed

  • I always find it funny how creationists flipflop rapidly between championing faith as a virtue like their religion demands and denouncing scientists for having faith in a remarkable display of pot calling the kettle black.

  • I'm guessing the one dislike is from PPS himself. I took a gander at his channel, and it was some of the most offensive, moronic content I have ever seen.

  • and mr living dinosaur can you honestly look in the mirror and believe what you are saying all you have done is use insulting words due to your lack of facts and evidence, ignorance my friend is in your charlaten idea of knowledge

  • Hello, I was raised in a family of Christians, and had to go to all Christian schools, and I want to learn about evolution. What books do you recommend starting with?

  • @shutupsamandseth I would recommend "Why Evolution Is True" by evolutionary biologist Jerry Coyne (ISBN-10: 0670020532). It's not too technical and I think you'll like it. Also if you haven't come across them I would recommend checking out the channels of c0nc0rdance, cdk007, AronRa and DonExodus2 here on Youtube. They are all brilliant. Hope this helps.

  • @TheLivingDinosaur GRRRRR you forgot Thunderf00t and dprjones, they are a core part of our community

  • @shutupsamandseth TLD is right that is to me the perfect introductory book to evolution. Easy to understand but with lots of information.

  • @shutupsamandseth You do not understand Chirality at all, Racemic mixtures are Not the building blocks of Life!! and the Miller experiment was Controlled!!, Miller put in what he wanted and used a Trap!!, these reactions would never occur on a primordial earth! The Moronic atheist has a Faith in some Chemistry unknown to Life! and you say it happened a long time ago! but cant test or repeat it in any way whatsoever !!! Amino acids that lack Chirality Do Not Produce life!!! they break

  • @shutupsamandseth You are not a real Christian, You would know evolution is a lie!

  • @5tonyvvvv I never claimed to be a Christian, I only said that I was never allowed to learn about evolution because my family were Christians. I come from a family of ministers and I know that what they teach is false!

  • @shutupsamandseth

    I also recommend potholer54! He's got a 'made easy' series that's great!

  • @shutupsamandseth I could also recommend a book "the Greatest show on Earth", by Richard Dawkins

  • @shutupsamandseth I pity you.

  • @shutupsamandseth Accidentally thumbed down this, but I think it's brilliant that you're getting into Evolution! :D

  • @shutupsamandseth after why evolution is true, the origin of the species is a nice next step, a bit technical, but the original book on the topic tends to be a good one to read.

  • As a Computer Programmer (and an atheist) I must apologise for the idiots in my profession. Do not let this asshat reference to the rest of us.

  • 7:05...human inventors using intelligent design and modern technology?

hmm....advances thanks to scientific methods and discoveries, you mean? i know i am far from the first to point this out, but the bold faced cherry picking of man's advancements when it suits creationists purposed is beyond pale.and if the church had not supressed science since the fall of rome, i wonder how much further along we might be...

  • silly scientist and their stupid theories.like germ theory, the theory of relativity, transistor theory!!!

  • It's a damn shame that PPSimmons has more than twice the subscribers as you. Your videos definitely deserve more attention.

  • hahaha love the last sentence there with the image of the baboon ass.

  • sweet

  • Just imagine how complicated Windows would be if Bill Gates had 4.6 billion years at it! No, if God did it the Human system would be simpler and more reliable with lots of redundancy.

  • I love you Living Dinosaur! Very kind of you taking the time making these videos. They are both very illuminating and very funny

  • Comment removed

  • I am greatly offended; I think Waterworld was actually an okay film. Maybe not worth the budget, but hey.

I jest. I love your videos, they're great for a laugh and it raises my opinion of humanity slightly to hear someone calling these willfully ignorant bigots out on their crap. I'm currently working my way through them all, but I see the end approaching all too soon, so I hope you keep making them.

Good luck, and congratulations on all you've done so far.

  • I´m glad "volound" liked this video, cause thus it came to my attention.

I liked, saved in a playlist, faved it and subbed because you just rock so very seriously that i just had to.

A real scientist, educating the fucking masses(like me)? Fucking awesome and a fucking noble task since you make no money off of it. I hope you will accumulate so many subs and views that you DO make money with it!

Thanks for taking the time to make vids like this one! Seriously, i´m grateful for it.

    mm84

  • RIGHT ON! Keep up the good work.

  • Does the PP in PPSimmons stand for Primordial Prat? Or perhaps Pontificating Peon?

  • Scientists are among the most important proffessions in the world, if not THE single most important one. If it wasn't for science, we would be dying from diseases, starving, and freezing.

I won't become a scientist myself (I don't have a lot of the type of intelligence needed :( ) but I respect you deeply for being one. You are helping humanity, and reducing suffering in the long term.

  • If you kept your politics out of your videos you would look like less of an angry left wing nut.

  • the 1 thumbs down is pp...haha pp

  • You can happily put the boot in on this one because we have here not an ignorant creationist but a dishonest one who likes to fill cyberspace with his propaganda and disables the comments section so some gentle viewers will more likely be hoodwinked.

  • Uh, you're a scientist, what do you research? Love your videos and am, sadly surprised at the low amount of subscribers you have. Don't stop making these videos.

  • @mythical13 I'm a protein biochemist and have worked in many areas including cellular membrane traffic, cancer and HIV vaccine development, dermatology, wound healing and currently orthopedics. Glad you like the videos and thanks for your support!

  • @mythical13 I am sure the number of subscribers will boom. I just subscribed, Well done TheLivingDinosaur

  • Why is intelligent design even a topic? The normal course of action is for something to be tried in court and then, when found guilty. placed "in jail." ID never even served on probation. An idea so bad a judge that is likely a creationist had to say "NOT"

  • Can't get the "blind forces" out of my head! Bravo. :))

  • excellent

  • WHAT?!?! I'm going to immediately post a retort on PP Simmon's channel. oh wait...i can't, he doesn't let anyone comment on his videos....

  • I also noticed on his channel how he has a comment posted comparing evolution to how computers were built and saying that life couldn't have sprung up by chance. Of course that's like comparing apples and oranges or often in his case, AbioGenesis to Evolution.

He talks about how a dna strand is like an 8bn byte code :P

He likes to think that because something not self replicating like a computer needs a designer that something that is self replicating and forms from simple materials

    Cont

  • @hildegain Cont.

found in nature all the time, amino acids that form naturally and synthetically, also must have a designer.

We have proven already that it is possible to 'design' life but he doesn't like that either, because we prove that we don't need god to do it.

It's somewhat of a shame that natural selection doesn't apply to humans quite the way it once did with our "silly scientists" doing their jobs. If it did, this guy would have failed to adapt and died off.

    Good going dino.

  • @hildegain Don't worry, Natural Selection is quietly doing its work, and hopefully in another Century or two Creationists will be utterly extinct. Perhaps there will be a moth eaten stuffed one at your local museum!

  • I see PetitePP has disable comments on his video. I assume it's the same for all his videos.

Why do people who claim to believe that an all powerful god is on their side...turn out to be such intellectual cowards?

  • @KarlHeinzofWpg He also doesn't accept video responses. I posted this as one, but funnily enough it never appeared on his channel.

Thanks for subbing, btw - I appreciate it.

  • @TheLivingDinosaur love your videos man.

  • Great vid man. he is such a tool.

  • I like how your words create pictures to pop up on the screen, lol. Good job, subscribed.

  • HAHA - P.P. Simmons, what a name :D.

  • Naaaa! Could'nt get through it!

Gosh, a scientist uses the word "design" so there must be a god!!

    Sure convinced me!!

  • PPSimmons is a conspiracy-mongering nutcase who believes President Obama (1) is Muslim, (2) is not American, and (3) has been inflicted upon the USA by Saudia Aabia. If this was not so sad it would be hilarious.

  • @Desertphile The sad thing is not that he is delusional, but that there are not insignificant numbers of other people who are willing to believe the same things (and worse).

  • @Desertphile

So, PPSimmons is upset because he thinks Obama is a terrorist? or is he upset because he thinks the terrorists are secretly conspiring to infiltrate our government with literate people?

  • "Piss" Simmons - PWNED.

Truly the best new channel to come to YouTube this year. Keep up the great work. ;)

  • Sarcasm can be quite a high form of wit if used well. :P

  • @theretard666 I agree, but unfortunately it seldom is. I think PP exemplifies the origin of the phrase.

  • Cool Ass! 10:36

  • 2:43 Ho My God hahahahaha!!!!!! :D

  • GRAVITY!!

  • Not that it matters, I actually own that Debbie Harry single. It's not obscure, but I never thought I'd see even a passing reference to it... anywhere.

    It's okay.

(this wins the award for Most Pointless Comment of the day)

  • ha excellent video!.. and just to piss you off...*whispers* silly scientist!...bwahahahahahahhaa the interwebz is full of mean people.. on a serious note.. thanx for the upload i will share with friends :)

  • @mmmodafoca You bastard! Just wait 'til you post your first video. I'll be waiting to pwn your arse! ;-)

  • What part of science do you work in? Your channel page doesn't say.

Anyway; It pleases me greatly to hear you spewing your galles over a fundie like that.

I didn't think you had it in you ;-)

  • @skinnyjohnsen I'm a PhD in biochemistry and have done research in enzymology, protein chemistry, cell biology, immunology, dermatology and wound healing over the years, so I'm a bit of a Jack of all trades.

  • I'm so gonna subscribe!!!!

  • Awesome job!

  • Hell is eternity in the company of creationists.

  • Really reallyu really really like this... unfortunately he's probably not smart enough to understand your arguments because if he were, he would have listened to his teachers and read those books with a proper comprehension. Oh well, I'm sure he's learnt something useful :)

  • Maybe if he thinks scientists are so silly, he should just stops using his computer and taking medicine. Forever.

  • Ok,Ok im subbing im subing. Happy now?

  • @CATMAHAT Yes.

  • great vid dinosaur man, but faith-heads will still not read up on evolution from a respected source (they tend to get it from people like ray bananaman comfort or his trusted sidekick kurt crocoduck cameron). keep up the good science

  • HAY, I saw THAT, Don't Trash the Xbox 360

  • Spectacular video. Thanks!

  • I sparred with PPsimmons shortly after he started posting vids. I made three semi-funny rebuttals of his vids. He flagged me for DMCAs for two of them, which i disputed and eventually he backed down (so my parodies are now back online).

We exchanged a number of PMs and he seems an "okay" person in my book, just hmm not 100% honest. Why? for financial gain? for popularity in his church? i'm not really sure

Hiya Carl, if you're reading this! If there is a heaven, you're going there!

  • @Elvisdogg Thanks for the info. Hopefully he's learned to break the DMCA habit since then. Thanks for subbing to, btw - I appreciate it.

  • Evolution. Hoax. That is all; thank you.

  • @mysoteria7 "Evolution. Hoax. That is all; thank you." You are ignorant and not very bright. That is all and you're welcome.

  • @mysoteria7 Gravity. Hoax. Makes just as much sense.

  • @mysoteria7 germ theory hoax! gravity theory hoax! atom theory hoax! yet what you believe is true and not just a superstition. get real

  • @mysoteria7 Thank you for the eloquent and well-reasoned critique of evolutionary theory. Unfortunately, unlike creationists, I prefer not to blindly accept whatever someone tells me and like to judge each proposition on it's merits. I would therefore very much be interested in hearing exactly why you feel evolution is a hoax. If you cannot, or will not, supply a cogent argument, then kind kindly fuck off. That is all; thank you.

  • @TheLivingDinosaur

Well first of all no public school teaches creationism. So how am I the one blindly accepting whatever someone tells me?

And I will get back to you on this; or I will try at least.

I'm very busy at the moment and I do not have time to type out a long comment..

  • @mysoteria7 I wasn't talking about schools, I was thinking of you preacher, parents, peers, biased sources etc. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

  • @TheLivingDinosaur Well I was talking about schools; biased schools that exclusively teach evolution.

Due to the fact that I am not believing what I am taught from school; where I go to learn, wouldn't that say that I am thinking for myself and not "believing whatever people tell me"?

There are biased sources on both sides. Rarely ever do you get the facts; the straight-up, unbiased facts.

  • @mysoteria7 Sorry - you fail. Firstly, your original statement was that evolution was a hoax, not anything to do with schools. Second, there is no bias is science. If you want to believe that, then that's your prerogative, but you will be deluding yourself. I've been doing it for 20 years and I know for a fact that the second you make a mistake there are hundreds or thousands of others just waiting to point it out and show that they are better than you. ctd.

  • @TheLivingDinosaur And because everything is science has to be repeatable or verifiable, all mistakes or deliberate frauds are eventually rooted out. This is why it works, and proof that it works lies all around you, every second of every day. Evolutionary theory has been developed in exactly the same way as modern medicine, computer technology and spaceflight and the only reason you choose to deny it is that it shows your cherished stories to be nothing but fables,

  • @TheLivingDinosaur

"the second you make a mistake there are hundreds or thousands of others just waiting to point it out"

    ROFL.. Nod.

You can tell when you've published something either boneheaded or very important when there's a donut cart outside the faculty lounge and the room is covered with plastic sheeting.

  • @mysoteria7

If you form your beliefs based on critical review of objective evidence then yes, but if you simply don't believe in spite of the weight of evidence because you were told not to... that just makes you a slave to another person's agenda... or a book written by bronze-age goat herders.

If you intend to keep anything like an open mind, then you have to demand equal standards of evidence. If you can't, then the loss is entirely yours.

  • @DeathofSpeech

I do keep an open mind. Scientists have been proven to be faking "evidence."

I believe in the Bible. Thye Bible is the only book in any religion to have prophecy. (not to get off topic.) And everything that has been prophicised about in the Bible has come true when it was predicted would happen.

That being said, I'd say that it's pretty safe to say the Bible is true and therefore, Creationism.

You can't prove that it was faked, if that's where you're going...

  • @mysoteria7

What you fail to understand is that science isn't a fraternity. If a scientist were to "make something up" his fellow would set him up on a pillory.

    .

I can indeed prove the bible is faked.

It has numerous fabrications in it and even plagiarizes the chief protagonist from earlier mythologies, Horus, and Mithra. Even if we assumed the "Flood" were a local event, Egypt predates it. Proof enough that it is a fabrication.

  • @DeathofSpeech

You can say that scientists' evidence shows this and that, but they were caught making up facts about global warming, so who's to say that their "facts" and "proof" about evolution aren't faked either?

I'm just going with the facts, buddy. It's all right there. I DO have an open mind, I just choose to believe the facts and the things that have a record of being correct. I choose to believe things where people weren't caught making up "data" for.

  • @mysoteria7

Not seeing any substantiation or even specific claims.

Nothing about global warming has been fabricated, other than attempts by creationists to refute it.

Unless you can name your sources, you've basically nothing but accusations and empty assertion.

  • @mysoteria7

After the Council of Nicaea was done with the first canon, each church took it and rewrote it to their liking. The only exception being the Ethiopian Orthodoxy. Which is why the bible used by that church contains additional books.

    .

The story of Jesus' life, copied from Horace, and the ritual of communion, from pagan rituals worshiping Dionysus and Mithras which were symbolic cannibalism.

  • @mysoteria7

The bible makes specific mention of events that never happened. The seige of Jericho for example... not support and in fact contested by the physical evidence.

The death of the firstborn... Egypt kept tax roles and a census and documented their own daily events, yet no mention of it.

Neither did they notice the "flood" even though the Egyptian culture predates it.

Nor is there any physical evidence for it.

  • @DeathofSpeech

    w w w.facingthechallenge.o r g /arch2.php

  • @mysoteria7

    Shrug...

If you don't have respect enough to prepare and prosecute your own argument, why should I bother chasing fundie websites?

You can either present a case that demonstrates your statement to be correct, yourself, built upon your own research and in your own words, or what you mean to say is that you don't actually have an opinion.

    Let me pose a question.

Is your god moral? You wouldn't follow him if he were not correct?

  • @DeathofSpeech

Haha Well I just figured why write it all out and take forever when I can send a link that says everything I am just going to end up saying anyways?

Yes. I OBVIOUSLY don't have an opinion which is why I said something about my (apparently nonexistent) opinion.

    God is my moral, sure.

What defines correct moral? Because judging by my beliefs, the "morals" we know are/were set by God. So they are "correct."

  • @mysoteria7

"Because judging by my beliefs, the "morals" we know are/were set by God. So they are "correct.""

    .

So is incest moral? How about cutting children up with a sword?

If like Joshua, god commanded you to gather an army and slay your neighbors, including women, children, beasts... even the trees, because he told you that he wanted you to have your neighbor's house, would that seem moral to you? Would you do it without question?

  • @mysoteria7

Let me make the question more fair...

If god told you to kill your neighbors and take their house for your own BECAUSE they were pagans, would it be acceptable then to kill a male toddler?

How about if he made an exception that you could spare the lives of pre-pubescent girls and take them home to be your slaves.

Why only the young girls? Oh, that's right because a slave could be forced to have sex without recourse to god's law.

  • @mysoteria7

Does this offend you nearly as much as it offends me?

Are you in fact as I suspect likely the case, more moral than god?

  • @DeathofSpeech

Why would God have me do any of that? Wow. At least be logical.

How can I be "more moral than God" if I am defining his as the origin and definition of (my) moral code? Doesn't make any sense, brah.

Too lazy to type to someone who's just going to argue everything I say. I posted my opinion. I didn't ask to get in some debate; due to this fact, I am most likely done after this comment.

"When you think about what is written in the Bible, it makes less sense..."

    ^How so?^

  • @mysoteria7

Oh and you say I let a book take credit for something I already knew.

Well, obviously we learned our moral code from somewhere.

It didn't just come with the big band. Animals have no moral code. They have instincts. Why didn't animals get moral codes when they "evolved?"

  • @mysoteria7

    Incorrect.

You have allowed yourself to accept something you've been told... that you don't know the difference between right and wrong without the bible... when you know full well that putting a child to the edge of a sword is immoral.

Therefore, you must shield your mind from the fact that the bible excuses and condones exactly that which you know is immoral.

  • @mysoteria7

"Why didn't animals get moral codes when they "evolved?""

    They do.

Morality is based on social bonding, which is controlled by neurotransmitters.

We and all other social animals release neurotransmitters than make use feel love and compassion, and we feel a sense of community with our "tribe." for the same reason. Even apes have social morays and taboos.

  • @mysoteria7

"Well, obviously we learned our moral code from somewhere."

We learned our moral code as a matter of survival, because community makes humans competitive even without fangs or claws.

Without social order there is no community and without community humans are pretty weak as animals go.

It doesn't matter how smart you are as an individual. One man can't kill a bear with a pointy stick, but a dozen working together can.

  • @mysoteria7

My questions leave you confused and conflicted don't they?

    Maybe a little angry?

Your rational mind is saying, "wait, what?!? and your indoctrination is saying, "no, this can't be true."

    .

    Welcome to doubt.

Without giving my words any weight, go re-read the bible without preconception.

Ask yourself if it really is the book you have been lead to believe that it is.

Ask yourself if you can really get behind the actions described in it.

  • @DeathofSpeech Sorry bro. Say what you will. Say you "beat a Christian kid in a debate." I'm not putting the effort. I'm too lazy, I'm sick of always seeing these comments on my home page. I know you're going to think I just pussied out and couldn't defend myself, but to be perfectly honest, I TRULY do not care.

    Good day, sir.

    Sincerely,

    mysoteria7

  • @mysoteria7

If you want to present a serious argument then please stay.

If you find after a time that my statements to you stir questions, then you might want to ask yourself one more...

Are you the victim of a bronze age confidence scheme designed to pacify the populace and secure for the "holy" ruling class a continuity of wealth and power?

  • @mysoteria7

Give up your fear of hell... it is a fictional place.

Question... think... demand answers of yourself, because you are the only one who can free your mind from what has been done to you.

    Suspend credulity.

Become skeptical... because the truth really will set your free.

  • @mysoteria7

I didn't ask you for an evasion.

The precedent is that you follow a book that holds moral virtue in the actions of Joshua. You hold that your morality comes then from the same standard.

    Answer the question.

  • @mysoteria7

This is the reason that I asked you to state your argument in your own words.

When you do so, it requires that you actually think about the truth of your argument.

It does not require this to merely post a link to a website that tells you what to say.

    .

When you have to think about what is written in the bible, it makes less sense the more you read it.

    .

There is a better explanation for morality. You always had it innately and a book took credit for something you already knew.

  • @DeathofSpeech

Even if you don't believe the Bible, at least those who wrote the Bible weren't caught making things up.

  • @mysoteria7

The bible was compiled in 325 by a life long pagan politician. The compilation wasn't completed until the early 7th century. During that time it was revised and edited 6 times. Each time "truth" can to a vote by 6 people. At Nicaea it came down to only one vote, and that was by a pagan.
