  • I had a 390 in a '76 F250. Tweaked it a bit with Edelbrock Performer Plus intake & camshaft. Roller timing chain. Headers. Some mild port matching. Holley 600 cfm 4-barrel. Great throttle response and power. Gas mileage sucked, of course. Hey -- fuel was cheap! I drive a diesel now. Great vid. I like the wrapped headers.

  • love the sound i got one from a 64 thunderbird cant wait to put it in a truck

  • Sounds good nice and smooth, look at my truck at- 76 stepside- it has a 390 to, it eats gas but it runs like a raped ape.

  • niiiice!

so how are 390's on gas? im thinking about sticking one in my Galaxie but im still not sure yet.

  • Abt. 1,2 Liter/ 10 km . on highway .

  • hmmmmm... very nice..

    thanks..

  • @arnediesel if my conversion was correct that would be 19.6 mpg on the highway? that's better than my 03 4.0 liter ford explorer does.

  • shitty on gas, but oh man the sound gives you a boner when driving it, comes to a stop and it rumbles like a harley ..

  • oh man now im regretting buying a 351 for my car=(

  • @bearkid4u I had a '67 Galaxie 500 fastback with 390 Police Interceptor & it got around 15 MPG with a 3.89:1 ratio rear end & a C6 transmission. The car came stock with that setup, I wish I'd never sold it.

  • Looks and sounds good...sounds like stock camshaft....
