Somebody ought to cover this song just like the Elton version and make hit out of it. That'll show him that it was an excellent song. Some great piano and interesting vocals.
This is great. I love the song, and I definitely love this. What a shame he can't stand behind his works of this period, just because sme jerks dropped him. Surely better to show ''outsiders'' what a multi-layered artist Elton is than any of the Disney stuff.
I prefer the vocals on this (would have been nice to hear them a bit more developed in the mix though) than the studio version as it's more in touch with his initial 70s voice before it started to disappear from 1978 and go into a lower-range. He seems to use different styles on his concerts (the Russia tour voice didn't work for me) and albums after 1977.
I'd like to hear a live version of 'Return To Paradise' - it has been done and is amongst collectors.
its a shame songs like this, Part Time Love, and others from this album never get played. He says he hates them but it is most certainly instead simply that that time period was a terrible one for him, after coming out and dropping in the charts. This album was better than Rock of The Westies in my opinion.
I Love the "Madness" of Elton's comments and crazy chattering towards the end of this demo, it's great! haha. That makes this demo! haha Elton Rocks!!!
It's heavyhanded and not very good. I skip over it on the occassion I listen to this album. But I do remember listening to it right after 9/11 and feeling like it was suddenly relevant
WOW its a good song this must be a live track in the studio recording elton reviewing it or was all that crazyness really part of the song?Good song nothing llke i heard before, this was a time when elton's popularity was diminshing but true blue fans would love it i liked it,the track prove to be good material.
Well, I guess that confirms accounts I've read about his level of drug and alcohol use during the making of the album! Great song, thanks for posting!!!
This is for anyone who believes you can't rock out on the piano.

A Single Man....one of Elton' most under rated albums. And this song should have been bigger than it is.

It is a bit of madness from elton here, a good few tempo shifts in the mixing.
