  • This is for anyone who believes you can't rock out on the piano.

  • Somebody ought to cover this song just like the Elton version and make hit out of it. That'll show him that it was an excellent song. Some great piano and interesting vocals.

  • Ray Cooper, and great piano overdubs!

  • one of the best. that beat is kicking.

  • This is great. I love the song, and I definitely love this. What a shame he can't stand behind his works of this period, just because sme jerks dropped him. Surely better to show ''outsiders'' what a multi-layered artist Elton is than any of the Disney stuff.

  • A Single Man....one of Elton' most under rated albums. And this song should have been bigger than it is.

  • an espionage song.simillar at ego

  • elton is so silly! love the ending !

  • what happened to dont stop cover of fleetwood mac????

  • ANd I LOVE THIS ENDING! COMMENTARY FROM ELTON, HAHA...IT ROCKS, LOL.

  • One of my favorite Elton John Albums, "A Single Man"; and a wonderful song! Thanks!

    ~Tyler~

  • I prefer the vocals on this (would have been nice to hear them a bit more developed in the mix though) than the studio version as it's more in touch with his initial 70s voice before it started to disappear from 1978 and go into a lower-range. He seems to use different styles on his concerts (the Russia tour voice didn't work for me) and albums after 1977.

I'd like to hear a live version of 'Return To Paradise' - it has been done and is amongst collectors.

  • is that really elton at 4:35?!

  • could you copy the lyrics for me please and thank you. blessed be.

  • Awesome!!! I would love TOri Amos cover this Song!!!!.

  • its a shame songs like this, Part Time Love, and others from this album never get played. He says he hates them but it is most certainly instead simply that that time period was a terrible one for him, after coming out and dropping in the charts. This album was better than Rock of The Westies in my opinion.

  • @mrbollocks1979 i agree. this was the second elton ablum i ever bought. the first being BREAKING HEARTS.

  • I Love the "Madness" of Elton's comments and crazy chattering towards the end of this demo, it's great! haha. That makes this demo! haha Elton Rocks!!!

  • It is a bit of madness from elton here, a good few tempo shifts in the mixing.

  • the first song I played so often. Thnx!!!!

  • You will never hear him sing this again, he hates this song.

  • It's heavyhanded and not very good. I skip over it on the occassion I listen to this album. But I do remember listening to it right after 9/11 and feeling like it was suddenly relevant

  • You will never hear him sing this again, he hates this song.

  • i have this record hahah

  • Great!

  • well im sure mad for elton john

  • WOW its a good song this must be a live track in the studio recording elton reviewing it or was all that crazyness really part of the song?Good song nothing llke i heard before, this was a time when elton's popularity was diminshing but true blue fans would love it i liked it,the track prove to be good material.

  • Well, I guess that confirms accounts I've read about his level of drug and alcohol use during the making of the album! Great song, thanks for posting!!!
