  • Epic game is epic

  • OH GOD THIS RAPE MAX'S FACE AT THE BEGINNING

  • Thats one killer rabbitO_O LOL they don't even unty her:D

  • Check out my improv. on Dino Bungee National Memorial on piano!

  • Sam&Max Freelance Police was the name of the animated show and the original title for the comics if I remember correctly. Also it was supposed to be the name of the Sam&Max sequel from Lucasarts that they cancelled quite erroneously. The correct title for this video should be "Sam and Max Hit The Road intro"

  • lol I like how they don't actually untie her

  • Sam & Max Hit The Road

  • nusic on the last part sooooo similar to day of the tentacle(maniac mansion 2) hall music

  • and the music of the first part reminds me of TIE Fighter.

  • I had did game it was brilliant but I don't remember there was voice acting in the game. Is this the re-released version for windows?

  • If you had the floppy disk version there would be no voice overs.

  • I had a disc version.

  • You might have not set up your sound card settings with the game properly. I tried to run Sam and Max on my old laptop and it said sound effects and voices failed to load.

  • BZZZZT! This is from "Sam and Max Hit The Road", NOT the cancelled sequel.

  • hey is this made in 2d??

  • First of all, the cartoon series wasn't the original. There was a comic. Then this adventure game called Sam and Max Hit the Road. After that came the cartoon, and I don't think the cartoon was any comparison to this awesome game.

  • the freelance police game was actually canceled this is hit the road either way it was a fun game

  • where can i download this??? thislooks like fun GAME

  • sry i dont know here you could get it ive been trying for awhile and i cant find it if i do though ill be sure to let you know. :)

  • u know this kinda looks like a PG13 game

  • did u find it???

  • I'll let you know if I do.

  • you have to buy it -_- its for mac lol I was going through my basement and found my old mac and games for it lol

  • It's Hit the Road. ;)

  • Well, they suck for scrapping Sam and Max: Feelance Police, and they suck for scrapping Full Throttle 2.

  • I know . they should make those happen. are there petitions for those?

  • Great Game!

  • I ment to say "played" . Havent played it in about 10 years :P

  • wow. never heard the voices for the original game. I play it with subtitles only. The voices are very different from the TV show / New game series.

  • The version you played was probably the floppy disk version. No voiceovers in that one, except for the intro, if I remember right. The CD-ROM had full voiceovers through the whole game.

  • And something else, if I download SCUMMVM, do I need to own the game, or can i download it from somewhere else?

  • SCUMMVM is stand-alone, so you need to buy or otherwise obtain the game and then copy the files to a directory. Run SCUMMVM and point it to that directory, it should detect the game automatically.

  • I like both the new and old voices. For me, its prettz hard to compare the old onew with new ones. Each set of voices has a different athmosphere.

  • MMm a pork sausage would be tasty right now.

  • Uh... are you trying to tell me that Sam & Max are from Brooklyn? I don't know about all you other fans, but for me, it's mainly the voices that really make a cartoon great. I thought that Harvey Atkin and Robert Tinkler were the perfect fit for a pair like Sam and Max. It just doesn't feel the same, do it for me, roll my buttons, give teh funny, whatever you want to call it, with Sam & Max having Brooklyn accents. Max doesn't seem as crazy, and Sam doesn't seem as authoritative.

  • I always prefered this voice, maybe because I played the game before I saw the show. :)

  • Is there any way to get the game to work on a new computer?

While I do sorely miss the 8/16 bit games (I just caught the tail-end of it-basically I grew up playing the Super Nintendo) LucasArts didn't make a horrible transition to 3-d. There's Grim Fandango and Psychonauts...oh and KOTOR.

So maybe it's not the golden age, but it's close enough.

  • 'Shall i confront, subdue,and pummel the suspected perpetrator,Sam?'

  • I always loved this game , just don't try to run it on a newer P.C... well I guess that should be common sense but I wanted to see the result and here it is:

the sound won't work and the graphics fly on 2.3 ghz...lol

P.S. Sam either termites are burrowing though my skull or one of us is ticking.

  • use ScummVM

    scummvm dot org

  • There's a fun little program called SCUMMVM. It brings old Lucas Art adventure games back to life, in full sound etc. Try it. Worked on our packages of Indy- Fate of Atlantis, Sam & Max and Day of the Tentacle. Awesome! It even has graphics filters to smooth the edges of old blocky DOS graphics.

  • ahh, the grahics and sound bring back good memories of the old generation consoles and pc games

  • is "Pronto" a word?

  • God I loved this game... yeah, Sam and Max ruled, and Day of the Tentacle...

  • Wah, classic midi. Takes me back.

ScummVM educates a new generation of gamers the true gaming experience.

  • sorry- I mean MAX gives you.

  • God, wasn't it great when Lucas Arts was famous for making great games like this instead of the worthless crap they put out now? If you ever play this again (you need SCUMMVM- look it up online) tell Sam to pick up an object that he can't over and over again. Watch the great tongue-lashing Sam gives you after about 5 times.

  • You can say that again. *Sigh* I miss all the 8-bit and 16-bit games. Some of the best storylines.

  • I miss games like these :(

Even the grapics were better this way

  • The first game is not called "Sam&Max Freelance Police" (which is the name of the cancelled sequel), it's called "Sam&Max Hit The Road".

  • Sublime. I loved this game.

  • unban keep it real

  • needs more swearing in longhand

  • asterisk mouth :p
