The sound and rhytm of this Tango is perfect for listening but the orchestra keeps that famous ten beat measure for dancing! I love it even though the lyrics by Wlast are usually superb. Thanks!!!
Lana, I thought you might like that very clear tango rhythm for dancing. The arrangement, though, is typical for so called in Europe "salon music" but the melody is simple and lovely and instrumentalisation, sometimes - quite interesting.
To a person who is accustomed to listening to American records all of the time such as myself. This record does not sound asthough it was recorded in 1954 it sounds more like a 1930 something recording. I wonder if that is because the commies often held technology back? Wonderful song, and I'd like to add that I appreciate the work that you put into your videos.
This is an older-style (78 rpm) record, which was limited to three or four minutes per side. Long-playing (33 1/3 rpm) records, with higher fidelity and less surface noise, were introduced in the U.S. beginning in 1948, but 78 rpm records were widely sold in the U.S.until about 1960.
Yes I am well aware of the speed and size of this record. However I have many 78s that have almost the same or better quality sound than 33s from the 50s.
The tango is delightful and the artwork is interesting. It's remarkable how crude and regressive this Social-Realistic art looks compared to some of the Soviet graphic art of the 20's.
Yes, in early 1920s in Russia there was Malevicz, Kandinsky, Gabo... and dozens of others. Some of them managed to escape in time, others so early died in camps or elsewhere. In its beginning each young Revolution brings a new generation of its children up on the top, before, like Cronos, it pushes them back down and eats them.

Beautiful tango; the dedication to your parents is very touching. Thanks both for the music and the memory of the music that sustained them.
