well a lot of people say that swiss german or standard german is ugly sounding. but contrary to that i would say that this language is beautiful in it's own way - as with any language!
Lol. Swiss-Germans are wierd like that. Instead of saying the standard "Danke" (thanks) they "borrow" merci from their French speaking counterparts. But to avoid being mistaken as French speaking swiss they add "very much" (vielmals) in german. But in order to not sound too "German," they take off the final s, resulting in a very odd "Merci vielmal."
hmm i'm a mix. my dad is austrian,my mom from germany and i live since my birthday in switzerland...and i can say, anybody is gay and there are no wannabes ;)
i think swiss german is pretty cool. The guys who says the swiss are wannabes is wrong because the swiss don't want to be germans, they are proudly swiss. great country.
nonono i am a swiss man, and the first man speaks not swiss german. he speaks german with a swiss accent (thats sounds gay as all ^^) i excuse me for our bad accent ---> bud we were not al gay, other than our austrian neighbours
Ummm, yes it is. Swiss German is still German, it's just a different dialect. Many Germans would have trouble understanding some of the people in the film.
I lived in Germany for two years, and I know what Hochdeutsch (High German) sounds like. This is definitely German, but it's definitely not the standard dialect.
I'm still learning German, so even if they were speaking High German I'd have a lot of trouble understanding them.:(
im swiss, and thats german with swiss accent, not swiss german

Some of it sounds more like German than other parts.
Is that because some of it is Swiss Standard German while other parts Swiss German? I heard they are very different.

It's not "just" German, the first guy talking is a Swiss (trying) to speak in high German, the other Swiss ARE speaking in Swissgerman.
