  • Does the sun or wind play any role in this or do you just sneak up on them? I also have a confidence cow too, but havent used it yet... Does the wind direction or sun have a factor in that? Thanks:)

  • @550cameron The wind will play more of a role than the sun. If you try the cow decoy then the sun will affect it a lot.

  • great vid

  • i wish my father would have taken me hunting. now that i am 17 i believe its too late for me...

  • cant wait for spring snow goose season in south dakota!

  • Great video! Saving the tundra one goose at a time!

  • ok what do you do with 100 dead snow geese?

  • @TheDeathsmarch Actually, if you soak the meat in salt water over night, cube it, soak it in italian dressing, wrap it in bacon, then grill it with peppers, mushrooms, onions etc. it tastes as good as any duck that you've had. The mark of true hunter is how good he cooks what he kills :-)

  • I have never done a snow goose sneak but it has to be a big time rush. The worst part has to be cleaning all them bitches !

  • Nice haul for the weekend. My buddies killed 1300+ in three weeks this spring over decoys over 800 on video. Knotty outdoors will have the video next month.

  • @ 4:54 why the hell would you shoot it from that distance?

  • NICE WORK GUYS,

  • I think the snow geese refer to you guys as The Dirty Dozen ( a movie) you are some killin som bitches. Nice work.

  • That second crawl was outstanding! It looked like 100+

  • Styles of hunting vary from country to country, and from person to person. One approach to good hunting now consider important worldwide is teamwork. In this video, the hunters work together effectively as a group, as a team. Nicely done guys. Pretty tough hunting and nice shooting. By the way, Hi Tyler. What's up? :) Greetings from Turkey.

  • :) thats all i got

  • I have a couple of gillie suits and a cow decoy. I am hoping one or the other can get me close. When a flock is feeding in a field what kind of time window do you have for a stalk? I know I can get right into them with the gillie suit but you have to move kind of slow. Any tips for spots? Do you target a particular type of field, feed, lakes. Appreciate the thoughts.

  • @Tim7346 I've heard a lot of guys try the cow decoys, and I've heard mixed reports. As far as how long they stay down, it really depends on where you are. I've talked to guys from IL that say the flocks wont feed longer than a half hour before they get up. You could try a gillie suit, but I'd do it on a week day or someone else is going to get at em before you do. FORGET water if at all possible. If you think chasing cripples is hard in mud....don't even think about water. Look for a rolled...

  • @Tim7346 rice field if at all possible, but I know this varies from state to state. Ideally, a wheat field is the best, but they don't use them too often around us. Good luck.

  • @Tim7346 Yes Rice field when its cut and shredded, and wheat is very good as well, i did it here on a rice field in south texas got 28, 1 neck banded one and 6 geese with leg bands 2 were double leg banded

  • Great video! You really have the sneak down. Any tips for getting close? I will be doing a couple spring hunts in the Dakotas and would like to learn how to sneak them.

  • @Tim7346 Biggest thing I could recommend is not to underestimate them. People think you don't need to try very hard to stay hidden, but they stay alive by catching predators before they get close so keep out of sight as much as possible. Also, listen to them when you get close. You can normally tell what the group is doing by the sounds they are making. If they get nervous they will get vocal and then actually quiet down a lot. If they see something, they will normally shut up all together.

  • do you guys just scare them up then shoot at them or do you shoot them on the ground by just shooting over the whole flock? I need to know, planning to stalk up on some myself. Do you just hip it? Or do you actually aim? I need to know?

    Thanks

  • @550cameron It depends on how far out they are. The best way to get a first shot off while they're on the ground, then if they're close enough pick one bird out at a time. This may seem impossible but you can actually make sure you hit at least one, and you will definitely knock down more in the process. Any choke will work, but we usually go with a mod. and BB - T shot...Good luck.

  • you guys are my heros

  • Where you guys at? I live in Illinois and its so flat here, and no big ditches.. They go out in the middle of a 100 acre field, we have cow cut outs and we get some, but nothing like this, Thanks for posting.
