  • why the clip from Princess Mononoke?

  • I jst (10mins ago) finished reading the book and basically fell in love with the world Niel Gaiman created :) I had no idea it was a movie or tv series 4 that matter haha its cool 2 put a face 2 the ppl iv come 2 know :)

  • The actor playing Richard looks exactly like he should, i mean... like i imagine him myself :)

  • Reminds me of Legacy of Kain for some reason.. The dialog or the music, probably.

  • I just fancied Laura Fraser when i first saw this. I thought it was really good.

  • i want to watch i jest cant find

  • What's this she*t????

It's nothing to do with the book!!!! It's patetic and very bad acted! I hope it's a joke. The novel was something fantastic and I really hope there will be a sequel. But not on tv or cinema!

  • @elghark it's from the TV series Neverwhere originally was.

  • @elghark neverwhere was originally a tv series that Gaimen wrote. he novelized it afterwards.

  • For a Neverwhere review and many more reviews come to my channel!

  • Ok idk if this movie trailer is real or not, but the person casted to play Islington is a horrible match up. He doesn't portray him at all how he is in the book.

  • Mononoke! :)

    Ahahaha. Troll. xD

Spero in un futuro film... ma fatto bene.

  • The movie is bloody awful. The book is phenomenal.

  • @tauntonlake but there isnt a movie for this?!

  • @tauntonlake The book is pretty awesome. The graphic novel is good too. I thought this was cheesy, but it was still good to see it on a screen though anyway I thought. I would love to see an anime feature or just a real current movie based off of it. In all the crap movies in the theaters these days it would be totally believeable to see this movie redone properly and put in theaters.

  • just looks too old and cheesy. the book was amazing. i wish the movie could even try to live up to that a little.

  • LOL wow when was this movie made?? cause it looks idk fake. i'm still reading the book, which so far is good so know that i saw the trailer to the movie i don't know if i should watch it. LOL

  • @highrockerat89

neverwhere the series was released in 1996. it was made before Gaiman wrote the book

  • This is a very obvious fake that looks like its been filmed straight off a tv screen, and its the BBC version to boot.

  • I really want the creator to make a continuing book to Neverwhere.. I hated the ending i left me just really pissed T_T

  • I loved the BBC version, the lady Door was gorgeous - looked rather like death from Sandman though?

  • I just finished the book. [amazing]

Come on people, the whole thing was so much better in my head!

  • @magicalJoy me 2 loved it and I totally agree with you

  • did the producers just film there television to make this trailer or is this homemade?

  • TV Series wasn't bad, but only Comic Book has totally kicked my ass.

  • Comment removed

  • Really? I thought the TV series was...passable. The comic book was alright, but the only version I really really love is the book.

  • XD nice job. Wish there WAS a movie coming out. Mainly because I NEED to play Door

  • There is a movie coming out.

  • seriously? when?

  • super bueno

  • OMG! You are not supposed to find out that the angel is a baddie until well after he is introduced! IT gives too much away!

  • Ummmmm.....great work on the "trailer". honestly, really liked it :) but what was with the random "Princess Mononoke" clip?

  • lol i noticed that too! it supposed to be the Beast of London.

  • indeed

  • I really liked the TV program, though many people tell me there could have been a better Richard! Door played by Laura Fraser was very good and her two favourite roles of mine (Florence Nightingale and Henriette Dal-Beuxtasse)played the same strong and fun female lead. Oh yes, forgot to mention liked your trailer! sound could have been better- but! it has been favourited! ^_^

  • I hope the movie is better. The television show looks horrible. It doesn't do justice to the worlds greatest author.

  • This is just the tv show... The movie is coming out in 2009 :D

    I adore this book. <33

  • man i really love the book! I hope they make a movie of it hahahah! the scenes here are perfectly what I imagined while reading the book! haha

  • I see you are sticking with the tradition of giving away major plot points in trailers! A Not So Angelic Angel is just a major major spoiler (if you haven't read/seen this before!)

  • Exactly!

  • kay so i'm not sure i'd see the movie. however i had a mild freak out moment at the brief clip of Princess Mononoke! i love that movie very much so!!

  • whats the music?

  • its from the fifth element, but it kind of suits it.

  • I will NEVER watch that movie, not worth ruining the book for..

  • Just an interesting note on your comment... The book was actually written as an adaptation of the Mini-series which aired on the BBC. The footage above was made Before Gaiman ever wrote the book. The Book in my opinion is definitly superior (the knightbridge seen takes all of 2 minutes in the mini-series) but it's an interesting series to watch, if only to see how Gaiman came to write the book and flesh out the characters.

  • I thought Gaiman wrote the book because he couldn't write the script for the series the way he wanted. That's what the introduction says.. Maybe I'll have a look at the series some day, but this movie looks pretty bad either way

  • This 'movie' isn't a movie at all yet - the video's a montage of clips from the television show.

And Tantarus, Snyblind - a lot of people don't seem to realize? Gaiman was the one that created the show in the first place, along with a Lenny ________. It's his baby.

  • OK, then I guess he's lying in the introduction to this very book?

  • i've read the comic book. the novel is way better in all aspects; i had more fun imagining the characters and scenes in my head. forgive my criticism, but maybe if mr. gaiman did the comic, too...

i am so looking forward to the movie. i hope it'll stay true to the novel. stardust was, well, too hollywood for me. again with the critique.

on a positive note, good form, doreen, with the trailer. two thumbs up!

  • From what I heard there is a movie on it's way in 2009. I'm uber excited!

  • So am I! I also heard as rumor of a "Good Omens" movie sometime. :)

  • Actually a script has been written for a movie version but thy are still looking for a director. Also Neil Gaiman has said sequel to the book titled 'The Seven Sisters' is a possibility and that he has half writen a story in the same univers called 'How The Marquis Got His Coat Back'.

  • really? I didn't know that. cool

  • Well done.

I happen to like the TV version, by the way. Also, interestingly, here Gaiman was writing directly for TV and doing the novel later ...

  • Where did you find that Timecrash song from? (I know its from the 5th)

  • the fifth element soundtrack by Eric Serra, it has all the songs and is a great mix of all types of music, from opera to some Middle East/Indian inspired bits

  • I love that you used the pig from princess monoke

  • According to Gaiman's latest blog entry, he's trying to work on a movie script for Neverwhere - I think it's the writer's strike that's stopping him at the moment.

Hope this was helpful! ^_^ Nice trailer btw.

  • Cool cool.... yeah Neil should make a sequel! Either that, or I'm heading back to England, to London Below itself! Who's with me?!

  • i wanna go! I'll hide in your suite case! 0_O

  • lol! Yeah I liked to visit London and London Below!

  • @DoreenPortico n ill hide in pocket! ]:)

  • lol im with u on that 150% all the way!!!

  • DoreenP - Loved it but - excuse my french - where the heck is the Marquis??????

    You need to redo this!

I did like that you started with C and V - truly a couple of the baddest bad men....

  • I tried squeezing him in but ho do you descibe him, the other characters are easy but the Marquis is....? Sugestions?

  • The Marquis de Carabas I've always imagined as a black man, as i believe he is described, covered by many layers, to form a dark trench coat. He seems best imagined to me with a top hat that partially shades his face, with a mane of stringy hair (no beard or facial hair though). Since this movie is mostly underground, i believe this would be fairly easy. In most times, only two parts of his face should be visible; the whites of his eyes and the teeth in his grin.

    just my thoughts

  • That's nice and all but i was refering to the fact that i his character doesn't really have a name/title like "a not so angelic angel" or "inhuman killers"...he's just the Marquis, you know? That's why i ende leaving him out of the trailer..

  • well im feeling less smart by the day...

in that case, i believe something like "a man of secrets" that lends itself to the mystery that the marquis seems to have around him. I know "man of secrets is lame, but you understand where i'm coming from

how about "a not so Marquis-y Marquis"

you know... use a common theme...

    thump

    * sound of foot slamming into mouth *

i guess i really am an idiot

    sry about the confusion

    just more thoughts

  • oh don't beat yourself up! but see my predicament? the Marquis is just one of those characters, undefinable...i liked the " Marquis-y Marquis" by the way ^_^

  • ya... now its been bugging me daily... i'll give it some thought...

... sly servant of the streets?

    no, no... too much sibilance

    fair weather friend?

    friend for a favor?

one thing i think Croup and Vandemar need is sideburns... i know that sounds stupid, but it completes the animal nature

    street-wise is good

o also, the marquis de carabas is based on a kind of 'cat-person' idea (second life is like nine lives, his name is from Puss in Boots) so that might be some direction...

    ill think on it

  • I like the TV Croup&Vandemar more than the way they're portrayed in the comic, and i think they have sideburns in that so i dunno'. Depends on the actor i guess...Yeah and i still can't think of anything for De Carabas, maybe that's what Neil wanted?

  • Wait, theres a comic?? omg! I read the novel, never knew there was a comic! SWEET!

  • Yeah, but it's not written by Neil Gaiman, also it's based on the novel as apose to the TV show (just adding lol).

  • y princess mononoke, cuz gaiman did english version

  • Your suggestion of "?" is excellent.

    Use that!

  • " And (actors name ) starring as "?" That doesn't work! What abou' "a street-wise Marquis" ? Hm?

  • Loved the trailer! Neverwhere is one of my favourite books! Same most of the characters in the T.V. series don't look like I imagined them...especially Door...Richard's pretty good though.

  • Thank you! same here Richard's good but i also like the Marquis, he's just cool what ever he's in.

  • oooh yeah i know I love the outfit! tehehe!

  • What is this??

  • a fan made movie trailer for a book/tv series? helpful desription?
