Its really too bad that the game market is slowly and severely shifting towards Non-Japanese companies and audiences. I am the only one that still believes that Japanese companies and developers are and will always be better than the Non-Japanese developers. I am just not a fan of Non- Japanese game companies and games.

@MysticArksRevenge I think you may be right, the only non-Japanese Gaming company that seems to be any good and likeable as a brand is the Scottish originated company Rockstar, Rockstar started in Scotland as DMA designs and they renamed themselves as Rockstar, their main headquarters is Rockstar North based in Edinburgh Scotland, but it really started in Dundee which is a bit further north in Scotland.

Scotland's Rockstar and most of Japan's gaming companies are the best in the world.

@TheFatalInstinct1 All this time, I thought Rockstar was British... I agree. I feel that Rockstar is the ONLY Non-Japanese game company that can do anything right.

bye the way the new arcade system can be very interesting for develloper who want's to devellope arcade game ^^ but the probleme is arcade gaming are more important in Japan than in Europe, i don't know if in USA a lot of people go to the arcade to play Street Fighter IV or blazeblue game for exemple ^^, they should released a Stereoscopic arcade hardware, and motion capture stuff if they want to do something new.

people just dont want japanese people to sell that well... they are the greatest console/game developers they have been blessed with gaming i hope a new sega console comes back with a lots of comercials to wake the average gamers up :) im a hardcore gamer and know that sega was years before ps2 and all here in europe they pay every year for a new fifa or pro wich is the same almost every year i hope they work with ea and konami to sell sports games to those fools XD and bring out real games

Japanese peple like effimate pop-music with girly guy japanese protanganists being in love and crying. Americans like heavy metal and badassery. They like to burst into a room with Dope or Static X playing and blowing off heads of Aliens or Nazis. They DON'T want a Tidus crying over Yuna or a Rio driving a cheesy motorcycle with Nozomi, they want Sevendust and blood and dominance. The difference between the two cultures is very sexual at it's core. Americans like to domintate and rise above

I'll tell you why it's important for Japanese Developers to make American Friendly games.....because when they don't we end up with massive failures like Shenmue and Space Channel 5 that bleed the company dry.

But you DO agree that high quality games that fail COMMERCIALLY(unfortunately) are still excellent games, correct? Shenmue was incredible, and practically every SEGA game, 'cept those Sonic ones they screwed up on...

I beat Shenue on my Dreamcast twice, I disliked the story, and the atmosphere was a little...cheesy, but it was an excellent game no doubt. In the end though, Shenmue 1 and 2 were not worth their hefty 80million dollar price tag to SEGA.

@Offspringfan64 A lot of the "cheese" probably came from awkward voice acting that came about in the translation to English. I wonder if the Japanese language version would be more acceptable.

@Offspringfan64 i have a ps3 a xbox 360 and all but if sega would bring out a new console it will be years before sony and microsoft just like dreamcast was... shenmeu is epic the story and gameplay in its time was way ahead of the other games i enjoyed it back then and i laughed hard when ps2 came out because it was not that great... and i was shocked when i heared sega lost their console (rip) :(

Nowadays, releasing a console is an entirely different hot potato. There are more things to worry about now, DRM, downloadable content, online play isn't what it was back in 2000, I would love to see SEGA release a new console, and that console would probably be the first console ever that I would buy brand new, the month of release. And yes, the PS2 was one of the biggest pieces of rubbish ever. Just goes to show what brainwashed American consumers do when lied to by large corporations.

@Offspringfan64 well not only in america... also here in europe i saw them buy fifa like 10 times for the ps2.. is that even possbible? thats like building the moon on the earth and saying look im on the moon.. consoles are not invented to live in this reality its to see a dream become reality with you in it thats what dreamcast try to show us with shenmeu and other games for its time the consumers they really have no idea, if they invested in sega till now you would see ps4 like console (sega)
