  • Just a couple more months until the next album...

  • BIGGEST LOSER AUSTRALIA=]

  • I saw the Biggest Loser ad too. It sounds a lot like this, but it's not Regina's voice.

  • @xxxxxxxxKatexxxxxxxx Check the other version on here of Regina's. It is it for sure...

  • This song along with the peoples stories on the biggest loser made me want to cry!

  • hehe biggest looser did this to me

  • The biggest loser bought me here.

  • Hey, I'm the 77,777th viewer! Let's add a "7" to that, shall we?

  • I enjoy it

  • John would've loved this; I know I do <3

  • @ErikRibsskog Hahah, no worries. Sorry if I came off as hateful, I'm on a "Spektor marathon."

  • @ErikRibsskog I have listened to the original and I find them beautiful and unique in their own way. The only two musicians that have ever inspired me to such a high level are Regina and the John. It may sound like I'm just saying that to prove a point but it is the truth. They just have different styles, styles that I'm used to. So I find both versions equally awesome. I do understand what you're saying though. The way she plays this brings out her Russian roots, so it is a little strange.

  • @ErikRibsskog How you got "depressing" or "pretentious" out of that completely baffles me. The only word and I can even begin to think of after hearing that is "beautiful." Besides, if it were sung an octave lower and played in a different key it wouldn't be a true cover. It would be a replication.

  • Incorrect. This song is by The Beatles, not just John Lennon. I love this performance.

  • This is beautiful...

  • Horse shitte

  • gives me shivers. so amazing -3

  • God is amazing, I think John Lennon was inspired by the angels of heaven unknowingly.

  • @mslazydaizey

I thumbs up this with gusto. Here's and cheers to you and yours, Madam.

  • @mslazydaizey me too<3

  • @mslazydaizey hey ms lazy daizey... dont blame you. this does lennon original justice.

  • Love it. The closest to an "our song" me and my hubby will ever have. We had to have this at our wedding.

  • I love Regina, and i like her cover of No Suprises by Radiohead.Saying all that,John Lennon's version is so hard to top.A nice cover still, very relaxing.

  • Rubbers protect shoes; muffers prefer bushes; there's ugly talk afoot and all of it's about footwear, that is: what shoes have become. What becomes of you, of me, of our footwear when Jesus returns? I'm waiting for something genuine in my footwear; for something genuine to come to pass; for guidance, admittance & sanity on a planet guided by warfare & footwear.

  • magnifique version!!!!!

  • me and my crush danced to this at the camp dance <33 hehe! it was a dream come true

  • What an amazing cover.. John would be so proud Miss Spektor!

  • thank you

  • its amazing to discover a singer where you don't not love all of their songs xxxxx

  • I love this picture of her! I wonder what she was thinking?

  • @Evangeline30575

Well, she's working the Yamaha, so I imagine she was thinking along the lines of, "I bet those guys and gals sitting in the back would really enjoy watching each other sleep."

  • @karlprojektorinski Hahahaha You-are-so sweet (so sweet)! =D I wear red lipstick because of her! Kind of an homage i guess

  • @karlprojektorinski i bet you know that because you are human of the year... a beep to you

  • melting when I heared this song!!

  • escuchala y sabe la oportunidad que tenemos, todos nosotros. Amor Universal

  • Mir kamen die Tränen vor Rührung. Bewegend.

  • I was NOT expecting such amazing voice!! Just WOW!!!

  • REGINA I LOVE YOU!!

  • I'm so in love with this song

  • When my husband and I married nearly two years ago, our first dance was to Regina's cover of this song - so meaningful and achingly heartfelt.

  • John Lennon may have written this song, but he neglected it, and the surviving Beatles only treated it as a cash-in. It took Regina Spektor to treat this beautiful song with the respect it deserves. When I marry my girlfriend, I'm playing this song.

  • @mgo26 i disagree entirely. though i'm not a fan of jeff lynnes production, the beatles version is incredible, and to say it's a cash in is absurd. they were all worth millions upon millions. they finished that song, in my opinion as sort of a farewell, seeing how the beatles broke up, free as a bird and real love were fucking amazing swan songs

  • @mgo26 John Lennon just had a different personality that's all. Still, I love the two versions, with John's amazing vocalz, and it's just that Regina sang this song perfectly. just the way it was.

  • This is very well done. It's nice to hear the song with clear vocals, as the versions with John on them were pretty scratchy and over-processed.

  • ME ENCANTA ESTA VERSION... UNA DE LAS MEJORES... GRACIAS!!!

  • great job spektor!!

  • beyond amazing.

  • I love this song. I mean, John Lennon did it best of course, but Regina's voice is so pretty.

  • @mangagirllover

actually, Lennon only ever recorded a demo that was used in the postumously made "Imagine" documentary. It was later remastered as the other Beatles played along with his vocal for Anthology 2. So Lennon never did record this song.

Imagine if he had! Lennon & McCartneys throwaways were better than most writer's best efforts. Though Spektor is definitley in their class as a songwriter; she doesn't have a song I don't like.

  • i love this song. thanks!
