When I downloaded q-xpress it appeared on my desktop and so I did what you said and right clicked it then opened it then it asked me if I wanted this following program to make changes to my computer. I clicked on yes and then something popped up saying that the installer I was trying to use was corrupt or incomplete. I have windows 7 but I don't know if that couald be the case. a mesh is the original form of the item. if the item you want to download has a mesh then you have to download that mesh or else you will not have the item. If you need a mesh- it means the item you want is a recolor.

Well you can save it any place you want... I recommend saving it in your my documents ea games sims 2 dowloads folder.

if you would have payed attention to the video it explains what to do when you want to download something with out the red q. mobthesims2 no longer offers the red q on any of there downloads so you have to download and install every thing the other way which is shown from 4:09 to 6:17

i meant this: there are three main things you have to do in order to get a object you want in your game to show up

1. download it  2. make sure you have the mesh for it (if it needs any) 3. install it. after you download an object from any site you need to go to the middle tab on the q-xpress which is labeled local install select browse then go to the folder that that you put your downloads in select one hit open then install on the q-xpress. continued.......

after you do that everything that was in that folder will be installed into ur game. so u can just go to that folder that u put ur downloaded items in & delete them all (note dont go into the folder that is actually labeled downloads which is located in the mydocuments/sims2/eagames folder this is where the game stores the info of all the stuff u downloaded, if u delete those files the items will be removed from ur game i have more info on this in the vid that is linked as a response to this 1)

the q-xpress can install both zip and rar files into your game from any site with out the q-xpress you have to open the files manually (which is a pain in the @SS) as for why some of the stuff is showing up and others are not the only thing i can tell you is if your not using the q-xpress and your not manually installing them right then that's probably why some of it is not showing up. don't ask me how to manually install stuff mobthesims2 has a help seduction go there and look it up.

yes, its usaullay a little easier to fin when you put all your downloads in C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2/ and then create a new folder in there to put your downloads in

you might of forgot to download the mesh required for the home cinema system to work. you can find out by going back to the page you downloaded it from and check in the description and in the mesh needed box for any links that might take you to mesh you have to download for the home cinema system to work properly

well then thats probably why you dont see the stuff you have downloaded in your game cause you have to install the stuff you download. now if your using the win rar program to install it i cant help you with how to install with that also if you trying to manually install the win zip files i couldnt help you with that either. all i can tell you is istalling both the rar and zip files with q-xpress is alot easier then doing it the other ways!

they are usually pretty vague when they direct you to any site that they get mesh from so the only thing I know to say is to go where it most likely will be, if you need hair mesh go to the hair category and comb throw all there hair downloads until you find the one your looking etc. for sorry if this isnt pacific enough i have not downloaded anything in a long time so im sure the sites have changed a little. good luck.
