  • There was mods done to that mercury or ford, whichever it was, just look at the exhaust and how the rear is, definitely not stock

  • the eco-booet has a big exhaust coz of the twin turbos

  • that has nothing to do with turbos

  • ECHO-Boost. lol

  • @RenaLC i know lol, you'd think he'd know how to pronounce it properly

  • @lukeshytalker02 lol echo boost

  • why are we talking about trucks on a video about the EcoBoost first of all and second, how can you compare a Tundra to the F150! The tundra loses in every catagory, safety, towing, hauling, luxury, versatility, space, sexiness. I dare you to find me one toyota that doesnt ATTEMPT to copy one of the "Big Three" ideas,

  • I have a 95 explorer and its driving better than my friends 92 accord drvies worse than my truck. they say that Explorer s are bad trucks. I will never trade it for another car.

  • i m saying this cause people say that honda s are the best. I doubt it. Honda s are good cars but if you get in an accident ur are messed up, cause their weak as heellll

  • I can agree 110% but the explorers are known to Blow head gaskets ALOT. But other than that there great and no doubt better than any jap car =D

  • Im a Honda Civic owner that Engine performs just like the V-TEC and the I-VTEC systems on the Honda's I have a Honda Civic and its 10 years old I dont think the Ford engines will last that long

  • The ecoboost went at top speed, and the BMW went effortlessly below top speed of ecoboost of 1-2 miles roughly. There is too much turbo lag, and is a gas guzzler. ECOBOOST sucks. Garbage before its even born. How can you be proud of it?

  • obviously you have never driven a car with the new ecoboost engine. I did a test drive of a Lincoln MKS and it was fantastically smooth, fast and torque at all RPMs. And no turbo lag (hence the two smaller turbos rather than one big one).

  • There is nothing original about the technologies. They are just copy cats that think they are pioneers.

  • You're impressed by that? Do you realize how long turbochargers have been around? It's 2009. Of course it's smooth with minimal lag. Ford managed to match appropriately sized turbos with their new V6. Big deal.

Hell, have you driven a stock turbo Supra? The stock twins are "smooth" with little to no lag. Hell, by 1998, they even incorporated VVT-i.

I'm seriously going to LOL if Chevy comes up with a turbo something.

  • Supra? hahaha

  • Yes. Comparable because it utilized a twin turbo 6-cyl setup.

  • if all you can afford is a Supra then fine... but it is NOT a luxury car. sheesh

  • I was merely comparing the engines. Not the car. You make the MKS seem like it has wonderful new technology. zomg! It's so smooth!

  • You are so dead wrong about everything buddy.

  • Finally America is catching on. Toyota and Nissan did this what? Decades ago?

  • America is just copy cats of Toyota, Nissan, Honda, BMW, Mercedes, VW, etc. American cars made great strides but fell back so much. American car manufacturers cannot come up with their own technology.

  • americans car companies are copy cats huh?..well then why does toyota offer a truck with a package called[ platinum]..humm ford use's that name already ..and the toyota rear is built [ALOT] like the ford 9 inch rear ...and the dash in a new yota looks alot like an f 150 dash ...ford had done alot of pioneering in its 106 year history that the automotive world had copied over the years ..AND THATS fact

  • YEA RIGHT. of course american cars are copy cats you dumb ass.. Dude you are living in such different times

  • Funny, toyota doesnt offer a truck named platinum. Or even a package named platinum. If the toyota and f-150 interior looks the same, you must be crazy. I can't see a single similarity in the interior. Exterior wise pffttt cant see it there either. Especially in the new fords. The 2004 f-150/tacoma look nothing alike. The tacoma has stayed close to the 2004 tacoma. You're full of it buddy.

  • you might want to lok around a bit to make sure toyota doesnt offer a trim package called platinum....and yep...the dash in the yota does look something like the ford

  • There is a good reason toyota looks like ford. Ford was involved in making the Tundra because it didn't reach target numbers at first. Just like Nissan is trying to get Chrysler to help design there Titan because is was one of Nissans biggest flops ever.

  • ford have idiots runing the joint stupid concept twin turb set up on 4 cylinder engines for big cars ...nothing smart or orginal about this ha cheap way of saying buy it weve done it its solved .

  • @1901974 4 cylinders... lol try more like 3.5 V6 you stupid twat.

  • Very nice!!!!!!!!

  • how long till it catches on fire?

  • where's your proof to where you read that the Eco-Boost engines have fire issues? oh wait, just like the past, you don't have any.

oh and look, you're talking shit about a Ford. nice one. didn't expect that from you at all.

    /sarcasm

  • It was never the engines, it was the cruise control lines igniting.

  • does that make it better? lol

  • let's see you talk when they come out. Besides, the engine fires only happened on the trucks and they fixed that 7 years ago.

  • longer then it takes for gm to go bankrupt

  • hondas are junk

  • I would have more faith if the Taurus wasn't going up against the STS and well I couldn't make out what BMW it was...looked like the 5 series though...and neither looked to be the V or M series respectively....

  • CTS-V: $60K

    BMW M: $60K

    Taurus SHO: $38K

    See the difference...

Your comparing two different segments, come back when your comparison is apples to apples.

  • To be fair, I feel the Taurus is a direct competitor more for the Lexus, Acura, and even BMW 5 series crowd. That being said, the fact that it is so much cheaper is a huge bonus for it. It will not compete numbers-wise with the CTS-V or M5, but it will compete with the BMW 550 and mid-upper level Caddys, and win in performance, comfort, and, obviously, price.

  • Indeed. Not to mention cabin space, head and leg room will be superior in the SHO.

  • OMG this guy is so freaking monotone, that I want to claw my eyes out! Take another valium dude...Jesus Christ that's annoying...must stop listening...ARGGGGGGG

  • you'd still be able to hear him, try blowing your eardrums.

  • yellow music, you got a good point here

I am at a loss with this dude but than again its the message not the messenger

and by the way this Taurus is knocking off the X-King of the hill BMW and CADDY BMW......... lost CADDY.... lost SHO.......... New king Not the Same is correct Taurus is faster, costs less, less maint. and overall ...... the bmw and caddy need to step up to the plate and design a car that will perform better , cost less , and whos maint. $ are normal

  • You know its crazy how much people like to bash, 15 years ago you could order a pinto 2300cc 4 banger from svt that delivered 650 hp with external everything. The tech has always been here and like the man said in Dearborn. One more fact When Taurus came out camery and accord took 10 years to catch up. Dont bitch trans and that crap I lost two trans in my accord and my sisters accord lost a crank which is = whole motor at 48 k. just facts that were not labeled like the ford trans.

  • Damn, I want that black SHO mule.

  • hahah that blacked out taurus pwning

  • OnlyFord4Life...

this is ford europe technology. been around for quite a while now. its kind of poetic how its just now getting to the states.

sixmagpies... this type of injection is some what new to gasoline engines, but yes, its been in diesel engines for a while now, so chances are europe has seen this.

  • Who cares? Judging by your name your probably some rice lover looking for any way to discredit an American car/car company.

The technology has been available in Europe but this engine was developed in Dearborn, not Euro.

FYI: Ford had a DI V8 engine in the 1970's released in the Crown Victoria from the Hapeville, Georgia assembly plant called "ProCo" aka Programmed Combustion. Along with Mercedes, Ford was one of the first to utilized direct injection.

Do your research before you try and bash

  • he kinda has a point though. i don't like to bash american cars either, but they haven't introduced this technology to very many vehicles in the last 30 years. they had plenty of oportunities, but they never did. it actualy is kind of pathetic. even the imported cars haven't used it. it's just something about america that fucks over technology.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? Your blaming America for shit that Japanese companies choose to incorporate? What kind of stupid hill billy logic is that. I don't know why you quoted me but you didn't really refute my points or aid his points...0.o

  • This is seriously old fashioned technology now....well understood and used for years in European cars.

  • Could ford have picked a more boring narrator? Come on, get a guy who is excited about this stuff...

  • time to buy stock in garrett turbochargers etc etc LOL

  • Oh and about the whole needing to turbo it to get 380hp... theyre not turboing it for power, they turboed it to get better gas mileage.

  • I would also like to point out that Ford's quality has vastly improved and now matchs and in some case exceeds the quality of Honda and Toyota...but you can believe w/e you want. Just don't cry when you run into your first 2010 Taurus SHO and all you can see is the driver waving goodbye to you in your ricer.

  • Um...you guys do realize that the Ecoboost is based off of the new 3.5L duratec right? It sounds rather nice... I believe you are refering to the duratec that was in the Focus (which could be a bit loud). Also the Taurus is going to put out 380 hp and 360lbs torque at the least with the TTDI (twin turboed direct injected) 3.5L. It will also have AWD.

  • Ford can do all they want, but I don't care how fast they make their Taurus, it's still a Taurus. Also, I really don't think Lincoln can be viewed as a premium contender in this segment, they lack a premium appeal and overall Lincoln is the WORST in the segment. MKS-I mean Taurus, Anyone?

  • Bullshit. Has anyone taken a look at the Infiniti G37?? Nissan was able to squeeze out over 330hp out of a N/A block. And ford wants to add twin turbos??? Get lost Ford, (by the way it doesn't help when your Duratec engine sounds and runs like shit to begin with)

  • go suck it rice boy

  • Come talk to me when you're driving something other than a 5hp Lawn Boy Go Kart your dad built for you.

    Haha.

  • alright buddy wtf do you drive? I got a 95 f250 7.3l v8 powerstroke turbodiesel 4x4 reg. cab thats pushing 650hp and 1100 ft.lbs of torque.

and it will RAPE anything you drive. and it will most likeley crush and pos ricer you drive too considering that its sitting on 37"km2's with 9" of lift in total (6" suspension, 3" body)

come on rice magee, share with the class your super high hp untouchable ride.

  • Haha, I couldn't care less about what you "drive". It's funny that you have NO videos up of your "650hp" truck, and yet you take SO MUCH time uploading videos of dinky little go karts. Surely someone who has enough time to upload a slew of Moped vids would upload a vid of their "powerstroke turbodiesel".

My car is much nicer than yours, it's an 08 CTS. If you weren't such a dumbass maybe you'd have checked my vids before making such stupid accusations.

You're not even worth the time.

  • AAAAAAAAANNNNNDD KartMan FAILS with reckless abandon. well isn't that fantastic. you have a big ugly f250. i guess you'd need that to haul all of those ghetto go-karts that you are so proudly showing off.

it would prove pointless to compare your useless monstrosity (should it even exist) to my 97 Supra Twin Turbo with over 450hp (and thats on a 3L, proving my point again). and if you want to talk torque, it has about 425 lb-ft. 0-60mph in about 4.3 sec. it is a useful daily driver/track car.

  • i'm sure that your big f250 would run over a fully lowered Supra such as mine, but that is only if it can catch it. which i sincerely doubt it can. your power-stroke diesel is meant for hauling, not speed, and with the excessive weight, etc., would probably propel that thing to 60mph in over twice the time of my car (that's if it makes it there without running out of gas). you've proven my point as to what it takes to extract power out of such an engine. i have gained about 100hp on petty mods.

  • i'd also like to add that the 2JZ in my Supra is one of the most respected and feared engines in the world, with it being incredibly easy to extract massive power out of, and the factory block capable of handling about 600hp with no struggling.

it appears that your ignorance knows no bounds.

    you fail.

  • hmmm... 600hp+ is no problem for a ford 460, AND that power is actually at a useful rpm. AND it has twice the torque too with NO TURBO, NO BLOWER, AND NO SPRAY.

so hows about you blow my balls rice boy

  • oh a useless monstrosity??? what do you think this world would be like without trucks?

YOURE A LITTLE COCKGOBBLER, ACCEPT THE FACT THAT YOU LOSE, HAVE FUN WITH YOUR UGLY ASS RICER MUFUKA

  • LMAO LMAO

even more ignorance. jackasses like you are a DISGRACE to the car world, as you have NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE TOPIC WHATSOEVER. and you shouldn't be talking about ugly when you drive a ugly ass truck like that. of all the trucks, you pick that ugly ass thing.

yes, that power isn't a problem for a ford 460, but LOOK AT THE DISPLACEMENT DIFFERENCE. THATS MY POINT YOU STUPID ASS ILLITERATE FUCKTARD. and i'm not a cheapass that uses spray, btw.

  • and if you knew anything about cars, which you CLEARLY don't, then you would also know that a JZ and an RB26 have LARGE powerbands, spread across evenly. especially for the low end grunt.

and i say your truck is useless, for a loser like you, that spends his life on daddy's little go karts lmao.

TRUST ME, YOU ARE THE ONE THAT HAS LOST, DUE TO YOUR COMPLETE AND UTTER DISPLAY OF INCREDIBLE IGNORANCE.

enjoy your go karts lmao. hope you can handle those 5hp lawn mower motors.

    EPIC FAILURE.

  • yea thats a real good way to defend yourself. not too intelligent are you there, "KartMan250". this is pathetic. it takes 2 turbos to get the same power that other companies get from a naturally aspirated engine of the same size. and that's a modern engine of a large size. when nissan twin-turboed their 2.6L they got 320hp, and that was almost 10 years ago, on a block that is a full litre smaller in displacement. no wonder why they suck so much. this is a disgrace.

  • yeah and because its a pos ricer what are you looking at as far as torque, which matters twice as much as hp. 180 ft.lbs, maybe 210 to be nice?

  • yet another naive comment. that is a trait of honda. the hp vs. torque on others are pretty even. and if you are talking about the 2.6L i mentioned, aka the legendary RB26, then it has about 300lb-ft of torque (pretty sufficient), and propels the car from 0-60 in under 4 1/2 seconds and hit about 180mph. not to mention that they make some of THE MOST technologically advanced vehicles on the planet. you have no facts. just opinions. learn your shit before you come here with that garbage. you fail

  • and how the hell is anyone going to take you seriously with those stupid ass go-kart videos. go get your drivers license and get a real car before you start this garbage again with pros like me and th3ha1og0d, which whom i can vouch for because i do autocross with him, while you drive those little go-karts daddy built.

    you fail.

  • ahahahahaha!!!!!!!! pros like you!!!!!!! holy shit this si soooooo fucking funny im having trouble continuing with this conversation...

please keep the entertainment coming... PRO!

  • yea and at least we are pros at something. you shouldn't be laughing when you have all these videos of a bunch of lawn mowers with steering wheels. i actually drive REAL cars, LIFE SIZED cars with MASSIVE POWER, that require a DRIVER'S LICENSE. again, come talk to me when you get a real car.

lmao. my die-hard ford buddy is laughing at your stupidity from reading your comments.

    fail.

  • yes, we are pros at what we do. you, however, spend your time on those little toy lawn mowers with steering wheels. you lost all credibility in this argument due to your stupid comments and complete lack of display of knowledge. not to mention your little hobby lmao.

lmao. my die-hard ford buddy is laughing at your ignorance from reading your stupid comments.

and you have finally admitted that you are having trouble continuing this convo, because you know that you have LOST MISERABLY.

    fail.

  • lol whoops i posted twice...it said that the first one wasnt' posted...frekin youtube...

well since this is a new comment...

    KartMan250 fails.

  • Listen kid, we know you're laughing [cocksucking].

We don't care about your daddy's go karts or your Uncle's "truck" or any of that stuff. The Supra would RUN anything you've got, ANY day of the week, PERIOD. There's no arguing that point. This guy has pulled lengths on me in his Supra against my C5 Z06. I think I'd know; I lost $500 for not keeping my mouth shut. You should do the same, punk.

  • Do you have any idea HOW EXTREMELY FAST and HOW RESPECTED the Nissan Skyline is. We're not talkin about your brothers Honda Civic...

You could increase the validity of your argument by bringing some knowledge and FACTS to the table, and not your wild speculative BS.

As untouchable15 earlier stated, YOU FAIL.

  • yeahhh, EcoBoost !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • at the moment, yes, its just bs, but 340hp out of a 3.5 v6 isnt hard at all.

  • but stock from the factory..that iznt half bad at all..

and i heard that the taurus with the 3.5 twin turbo will do 0-60 in 4.5seconds...thats fast for a sedan

  • 365

  • indeed
