The wood in these guitars cost about 50 dollars. If you want one of these guitars, go online and purchase them from overseas for less than 3 hundred dollars. All you will have to change are the pickups when you get them. Don't be ripped off by Paul Reed Smith, no guitar on planet earth is worth even over 10 thousand dollars, don't let these foolish people make a fool out of you and steal from you by way and means of price gouging.
@moseseseseses 50 dollars for 10 top Maple? what are you smoking? and You are the reason that in America we are losing jobs. Because Cheap mother fuckers like you don't want to pay for quality. and no it won't sound the same. You obviously have no ear for music and probably can't play for shit. Your a load that should have been swallowed.
Think I figured it out. I bet he tightened the 6 front trem screws down so the front of the bridge touches the body and then he tightened the spring claw way up so it pulls the back of the bridge down to the body. Afterwards you would essentially have a fixed bridge guitar which increases sustain. I've done something similar to mine - wedging blocks of wood between both the front and back of the trem block to completely fix it to the body and it sounds better and the tuning is more stable.
I KNOW THAT GUITAR!!! I used to drool over it at Sam Ash in Margate. Funny, I was just there the other day, and they have NO Custom 24's at all. Just a bunch of 22's and SE's.
You're right. the 10 top designation describes a figured top on a scale of 1 - 10 A TEN TOP is the highest you can get outside of an Artist, or Private stock top.
In a normal set-up, the tremolo is in a "floating" position, so you can push AND pull the tremolo bar. However this makes the guitar go out of tune easilier. By adding more springs or getting harder springs you can add more tension on the tremolo side. That means, that the normal position is now "lying flat on the guitar" so to say. You can only push the tremolo bar now but the guitar stays more in tune.
love the way u showed off you baby! DON'T... CHANGE... THE... PICK UPS!!! r u nuts!? keep it stock, bro. unless the sound sucks, which i'm sure it doesn't... 5 stars!

What does dropping the bridge mean? I'm not a native speaker so...
MaestrosounD 2 years ago
What does he mean when he says he "dropped the bridge?" Does he mean he blocked out the trem for better sustain? I've never heard this term.

I have a gibson silverburst LP where you can split the PUs and make it sound like a Fender.
