I've been saying Floyd vs Manny wouldn't even be a big challenge for Floyd for a long time for many reasons. 1-Mayweather has too much reach advantage 2-Mayweathers timing and counter punching is the best in the game and maybe the best ever 3-Mayweathers defense is ten times better, and again maybe the best ever 4-Lastly, Pacquiao was running out of steam by the end of the Marquez fight. Marquez won more rounds against Pacquiao and still whooped his ass. Pacquiao's own people in the Phillippines admitted to Pacquiao losing the second fight. After the their first bout, it's no wonder Roach waited four years to get a rematch-- the only way for Pacquiao to win fights is against weight drained and old opponents. Marquez timing, countering punching negates all of Pacquiao's "power and speed".

Cotto was readying his own weight in order to see if he could make the cut without harming his body at the WW limit. @DeadliestArt Of course DLH fight counts. Boxing isn't just what you do in the ring. It's everything you do leading up to the fight. How you train, what you eat, everything you do outside the ring effects what you do inside the ring. It's your responsibility, as a fighter, to prepare yourself. If you don't train hard enough, prepare yourself, and manage your physical outside the ring, then you've already lost before you enter. Losing because you can't manage your weight isn't no excuse.

Ortiz was just at 146 or 147 at the weight-in a day before a fight then coming out at 168 lbs at the fight, so overnight he gained more or less 18 lbs...so in your opinion this can also be called an issue of weight-drain...The issue of catch weight is just to limit your maximum weight limit and not to drain your opponent..

Respond to this video... @147 normal category for ww at weight in...therefore boxer in this category can be at normal weight between 144 up to 160.. pacs fought his opponents who are legit ww and had fought with in the category...the issue pacs done was not to drain opponents but to limit their max weight...from 147 down to 145...
from 154 to 150...at weight in..and to neutralize the match..in the first place bigger guys has already the advantage aside from their skill..

And saying "weight they never made in their professional careers" was a bit of of a stretch, let me reiterate. Freddie Roach negotiates weights that give Pacquiao an advantage over "bigger fighters" --by throwing off their weight cuts, you systematically disrupt how they put on weight.
Margo and Clottey are perfect examples. Clottey had diarrhea before the fight. His lack of rehydration and weight gain, more likely in the contract, kept him from replinishing himself properly.

Margo-- was caught taking Hydroxycut before the fight. He struggled making the 150 weight cut. Pacquiao was crying, excuse me-- Freddie Roach was crying foul over it, as indicated on the ESPN website when they covered the story. They asked the TSAC to test Margo post-fight for "banned substances". A little ironic, no?

Once again, your statement proves that Bob Arum has no idea what he is talking about. You are correct on so many levels-- the right hand just opens more door, a multitude of psossibilites. Floyd would counter over Pacquiao's jab with his right-hand lead constantly and ducking under to Pacquaio's left in which Pacquiao would, by habit, throw his power hand--missing Floyd by a wide margin.
