@bomberboi200 of course not, almost everyone votes ivey as the best in the world, so he automatically is the best. saout was 2nd best of the final table. just got unlucky and i believe he shouldve won the whole thing
Flop came rags so Esfandiari correctly realized flop had missed Saout so he bet the flop out of position.
Saout recognised that Esfandiari only bet the flop because it missed Saout, not because Esfandiari had anything either. Saout's A-high plus a gutshot stood to be better than Esfandiari's holding so he raised him off the hand.
Both players played the flop correctly - bet, raise and fold.
@pmam1968 There's nothing correct about Antonio's play here. Ivey would have checked here, allowed saout to bet, and then come over the top. And that's why he made the final table and Antonio didn't.
@el1407 I think both betting the flop and check-raising had merit. However, with the path he took he could give the pot up if Saout came back over the top, which still left him with over 4 million in chips. Check-raising was also possible but it was a high-risk/high-reward strategy - it would pot-commit him (he started the hand with about 5 million chips). If he had a deeper stack it might have been more attractive.
@pmam1968 True, but there's no reason to believe that Saout bets the same amount as Antonio if it's checked to him. The way I see it, antonio's out of position and has a weak hand, and hence, bets 3/4 the pot to take it down. If he goes for the c-raise, I can't see Saout betting any more than 1/3 the pot (if he indeed does bet) meaning antonio would have only had to come over with maybe little more than his original 3/4 pot bet. Tbh, I just hate the bet cause there's no way Saout is folding.

donkbetting (atleast in HU pots) is impossible to balance, most reaction to any donkbet for the first time in HU pots=>raise
