Love the new Taurua SHO. Fast enough to be fun. But stealthy enough to keep the cops from pulling you over every five minutes. Plus the comfy interior is a def bonus. I drove a two seater for 5 years that just about killed my back. Glad to see Ford making a comeback.

Comeback is an understatement! If you want quality, you should really check out the new fords! They really cleaned up their act, and they have very refined cars with extremely clean lines nowadays, comparable to a Toyota or Honda when you look at Fusion or Taurus for instance.

Its about 5 minutes long, and if you go ti the 4 min and 30 second mark, you will see the interior design manager explain how the original molds were made from actual leather, but then they get SPRAY polyurethaned so that the plastic panels then look ALMOST real.

He will also explain that the "suede" used in the seats is actually recycled bottle caps...I'm dead serious...go check it out!

I'm perfectly happy with mine. Using a handheld programmer that doesn't void the warranty, I gained 55hp, putting my SHO at 420HP. It's the family car & safest car in America. I have two sons, 4 & infant. My wife isn't a very good driver.. so with it's technology, she gets the warning in her blind spots, also with the key, I can limit her speed..shhh, she doesn't know about that, I limit her speed to 55mph. I work at a ford Dealership and I took one of these Cars for a good run. they are simply amazing. The ride is so comfortable even when I was reaching about 210KM/hr (canadian haha) It feels like a bull in a cage just wanting to be let out. most common rail fuel systems exhibit this. most notably D.I. motors and newer diesels. Ive noticed that two of my three newest fords do it as well. (4.6sohc & 4.0sohc) its not a flaw. it just kinda happens when you open and close an electronic solenoid that fast with 20 to 50 pounds of fuel pressure behind it and in the case of diesels up to 300 psi of pressure with the new PSD. if you really listen to the injector @ the fuel rail you can tell that it is it and not valve chatter.

This is Ford's new full-size flagship car. The price won't be coming down. It's in place of the old-as-hell Crown Vic. Needless to say this car is light-years ahead of the Crown Vic. Not sure it's better though. I see lots of electronics and sensors, which are never worth poo in cars once they are no longer new. I foresee lots of electrical bugs in the future for this car.

They have not ALL had systems like the SYNC technology that is voice activated since 2001.(research SYNC...it's the future) They have not ALL had the massaging seats available in the new Taurus which literally massages 8 different points of the back and butt at different intervals since 2001. You are another 1 who should look up the JD Powers reliability ratings.....owning a new 2010 Ford is something to look forward to.

Ford's only deal with MS is that they will get 9 mos. headstart on future sync technology. No other OEm has even considered Sync...BMW ha all those features in 2002 in the 745i...Sync is nothing to hang you hat on dude!...

Fair enough Bluesky, (I'll be the first to admit that voice activation tech. has not been perfected) but you do realize that you just compared the 2010 Taurus to a 7-Series BMW? How much does that car cost? $70,000 or more? As for the SHO, I favor it over most imports because I truly believe it's the most car for the money..literally. I love ROOM. I don't want a CRAMPED car with no leg room in the backseat. It's amazing the # of sheeple that tolerate pricey cars that have cramped seating there.

Fair enough. The 7 series was a technological nightmare. You can pick up a 5 year old 745i for less than $15K. They drive like a dream, but their Nav systems, voice systems, and stereos have a tendency to act up. The plastic cover that hides the datalink on both of the 7 series I owned (2002 and 2003) BOTH were opened so often during the numerous reprogrammings, that they actually broke off the interior plastic panel.

I think a SHO will pass those miles... I have a 1989 SHO that has 265K miles. but it's funny I don't remember my SHO (almost from the 90s) having "literally" any of the same technology. AWD? nope. Twin Turbo? nope. SYNC? nope. and 10 more horsepower than what?? 1989? no 220hp. 1993? no 230hp. 1999? no 235. maybe you meant the base model 2010? no 263hp. So in every single case the 2010 SHO has over 100hp more than any other Taurus ever made. Good luck finding a Honda with 365hp.

Not sure who you are replying to, but this car is a refresh of the MKX platform. It is not new, and if it ever gets a COTY by Motortrend, that will prove that MT is on the payroll of the OEMs once and for all. This car has a weak AWD platform by Haldex that has been modified and improved by numerous other OEMS like SAAB etc. The ACura SH-AWD is a better value by quite a bit.

This Taurus is on the Ford D-Platform which came from the old Volvo S80. The MKX/Edge is on the Ford CD platform which came from the Mazda6. They're two completely different platforms.

The 5w-20 trend has been in place widely in Ford for several years now. I belive it started with the 3.0L V6 in 2002 model year or so. With tighter engine clearances you need a thinner oil to work best with tight clearances or you need to elevate oil pressure noticeably to get oil to all the needed places. Being able to use a lighter weight oil is one thing Ford has been doing for awhile now leading to increases in fuel economy since it is easier to pump around.
