somebody needs to point out that the swamper is standing in direct line of fire of the load line. not good. i have see tail chains break before. not a good sight.
i've worked in the oilfield for about 6 years now. primarily in pad construction. started out haulin rock then moved up to heavy haul. so i haven't spent a lot of time around the rigs themselves. it's neat how all those pieces fit together, but what's really awesome to me is how "most" rig movers are able to take those trucks and tear a rig down or put one up with such grace.
Nice vid! and nice that you didn't go for lunch or coffee, so you could catch all this footage......I mostly only did the quick drive by....and go for coffee....check again later....and go for lunch....LOL I agree with Ken on the ladder sign.....LOL...funny!
@artistfarmer I like being the guy with no real reason for being there and no responsibility for anything...LOL...and I did go for lunch and coffee, town is only 15mins away
nice vid...looked like a lot of work for a tele-double w/ a stepdown sub...and a komatsu loader?!?!?...we had one....once....definitely not a cat...or a deere...
@alienincognito The derrick has to come off to move, so they place the draworks at the same time, it is a little cumbersome, but the company likes it for the long horizontals. Cat definately invented the tool-carrier, I haven't seen this Komatsu work very much, buts its better than a volvo or a hyundai that they had the old man use
5J done some awsome things back in the day.
