Were you the guy who wrote an article about Michael Ruelas? Go to /michaelruelas(dot) com you should be able to recognize his style. Hit Michael up on his. myspace.(dot) com/michaelaruelas.
I always wished you'd put out a 2nd Shrapnel CD. The debut had some really unique sounds and ideas, as far as Shrapnel albums went. Good to see your still playing Steve, and best of luck.
I'm a mad guitar fan who's finally got your debut album.
Now I've heard a lot of guitar albums but this still sounds so rich, and full of melodies and hooks, and some of the most delish vibrato I've heard. It has that classic shrapnel production too, with the keyboards, loud drums and clarity.
My favorites on it are: Lee's theme, Last ditch effort, Midnight drive, and warp.
dude you efin rock,i like your style, original improvisations, cant beat it,i love people who play from the heart and play there own shit,i have been playing guitar for 20 years and have a tremendous talent too,i am 34 years old now and am sickened by the fact that i probrably will never be seen or heard,i am homeless in san francisco, people say when i shred i sound like satriani, and when i blues it i sound like stevie ray and clapton,at least you got something going, good luck and best wishes.
to all of the haters out there I want to see you post a video of yourself playing like this. This guy has some serious talent and I've got some advice from him in the past on a previous sn. It's not about how fast you can play, it's about the quality of the music that you make. Of course mind blowing fast licks can be very impressing and soul robbing if played correctly.
that is exactly why appealing to guitar geeks is better than the whole world. nobody wants you morons in our company! leave the craft to the willing and the world to the consumer morons!!!!!!
you people are idiots. if this guy was playing right next to you at guitar center he would make you feel stupid! you morons can't play like this, all you can do is say so and so or such and such is better! better at what?!
Shredding with melodies, this guy really sounds like and is almost identical in style with Ritchie Kotzen. One of the greatest solos ive seen here on You Tube.
i think... more bass... less middle... and EMGs 60 and 81s... and your sound will be... heavy. its too... pussy now.. lacks that kick. but great playing. you're almost as fast as me. haha.. joking.
"4 stars for time spent in the woodshed." He's doing a warm-up...it's standard procedure to go through all your more difficult techniques so you don't fuck up at an audition or some gig.
this guy can not pull off blues, no matter how much he scrunches his face up. usualy, blues player actually hold notes for more that an instant, and their notes actually mean something. this is musical jerk off sesh.
On the subject of facial expressions, I hereby nominate Dave Murray of Iron Maiden as The King of facial guitar playing, bar none! Hail hail King Dave!!!

It's nice to see someone really shred out with a Les Paul for a change. Usually it's with strats, or Frankenstrats. The cowboy hat makes him look down to Earth, but the bookcase gives him intellectual cred. A man of contrasts, to be sure.
jesus man, you don't have to berate the guy for having fun. his playing is not remotely in the style of petrucci or satriani, and i think most people would back me up in saying that neither of them would have gotten to where they are today if they indeed only play meaningless "flurries of notes." that's cool if you're a jazz dude, but this guy isn't trying to play jazz - at least, i sure hope not if he was on mike varney's label.

It depends on many factors. Do you have a following? How impressive is your press package? Basically, if you can make money for someone they will be willing to pay you, if not, they probably won't. However there are other things to consider. Will the show provide exposure etc.
If you are playing a place that has a built in following, and you are very good and can hold the crowd, you can earn anywhere, on average, between $100.00 to $800.00 a night playing shows and gigs.
I like the sound, lots of hammer on runs... sounds fun to play... check out my vid's sometime, not alot of origional stuff up yet but im getting to it.
