my understanding is that with NES/famicon music you generally have 2 square/pulse waves, a triangle wave, a noise wave and the DPCM channel unless the game cartridge has a sound expansion or something. even if this version isn't authentic it still sounds great so whatever.
@givebeesachance Actually NES had it's own built in digital logic which had upto 32 channels available at any one time instead of a sound chip which only offered 8 channels. No gaming console has ever had a 4 channel sound chip except maybe a handheld.
YOU ARE SO AWESOME.

I love it a ton, but that "2nd" voice sorta "crowds" the main lyric. but brilliant work!

For some reason, this reminds me of a Lion King game I used to have for Sega Genesis.

Awesome! A NES version game where you get to play as Robert , Boris or Simon who be massive lolz!
Who made this? They done a great job, and I could actually see this in a game.
DeadWhiteButterflies 2 years ago 10
I actually made it. Sorta. I found a midi file of the song and put it through a program that makes it sound all 8-bit.
DerdleDoo 2 years ago
Well, you did a great job. I always thought 8 bit sounds were pretty tough to program. Nice one. Really.
DeadWhiteButterflies 2 years ago
@DerdleDoo Where? What program is it?
MrJustinMoody 1 year ago
@MrJustinMoody google Gashisoft GXSCC and it should be the first thing to show up. It's really easy to use too.

@DeadWhiteButterflies
It's not an NES version. The NES only had four channels for sound and this uses way more.
So it's basically just a waste of space.

NES has 4 channels (plus a DPCM channel), the SMC has 4 channels. You either misunderstood me or don't know wtf you are talking about.
