  • new york is better

  • @roger8654 Bigger city, but bigger assholes. Chicago is a friendly place, can't say the same for NY.

  • @roger8654 new york is dirtier & full of ass holes. aint nothing better than the CHI.

  • come to times square ny

  • My kind of town <3

  • i wish i can go holiday to this beutyfull city chicago

  • The fact that hhhrolling trolls on a video dedicated to Chicago spells insecurity. That or he's just damn bored with his life. It's okay, there are support groups for people with similar issues.

  • everythings in this avenue just closed too early .... i wanted to walk around there at night, when i got there at 8 p.m but only few shops still open ...and not so many people like i thought .. anyway i love chicago, the city is most amazing city than any other eles in The USA

  • My dear tiger, I can only assume that you had a bad day when it comes to comprehension skills.I never said anything about my opinion not being subjective.I just said that something so dull and very ordinary like Chicago, and I already explained to you why I think it perfectly fits such definition, to some people might be appealing. And thats totally fine with me,I`m just happy I`m not one of those people.Thats all.

  • Hhhrolling - go fuck yourself.

  • The most boring big city in America.

  • @hhhrolling Have you even ever been here? Cause once you actually experience it I think you will change your mind...

  • @orkidluver97 I have based my opinion about Chicago on my experience.I also have seen many other cities,so comparison plays a very big role in formation of my opinion too.But don`t take it too personal, people do have different preferences in life.

  • @hhhrolling no personal offence but Do not pretend to be neutral. You say Chicago is boring. I am Irish with no city loyalty in America. When I went to Chicago I saw a stunning skyline with great modern architecture, the greatest collection of impressionist art outside Paris, I saw the Cubs play baseball in a real ballpark. I got the big city buzz of mag mile and good cheapish beer and food. I've lived in London and Paris for years. I know alpha cities mate. Chicago is a great city. Have fun!!

  • @tigerarmyrule If you are impressed by "great modern architecture" of Chicago, you probably will be blown away by the architecture Sao Paulo,Shanghai ,Pusan,Bogota,Kuala Lumpur, Dubai and countless other cities.Pay especially close attention to third world cities since today so many of them have similar architecture. If you were able to sense "big city buzz" on Michigan Avenue, what would you say about Avenue in Buenos Aires that has 14 lanes traffic.Make conclusion based on comparison.

  • @hhhrolling Dubai...gtfo......Chicago offers so many different varities of architecture over Dubai....Chicago offers stuff from the early 20th century and Dubai has merely put a fingerprint on the map.......

  • @tigerarmyrule At the end of the day everyone is entitled to have an opinion. In my opinion Chicago is not a great city at all. Downtown feels small and slow, city has no major pedestrian only street ,Michigan Avenue is virtually dead after 10 PM,city practically has no international points of interests like NY,LA ,Washington ,San Francisco,Las Vegas ,or historic ,by US standards, feel of Philly,Boston,New Orleans. And if you like baseball, there are just as good ballparks n`better teams than Bears

  • @hhhrolling of course it is opnion but you are totally negative about Chicago. As a totaly neutral foreigner I can tell you that Wrigley and Fenway are by far he most famous ballparks. I like art. The Art Institute is the best gallery in north America outside manhattan. You say downtown feels small. Compared to where? If NY or London then yes it is smaller but it is huge by the standards of the NA cities you mention. Pedestrianised steeets are deadzones.

  • @tigerarmyrule I doubt you know what you are talking about when you call pedestrian only streets a "deadzones".Nothing can be further from the truth! In every city those are the streets with highest level of human interaction, street life and urbanism as a whole.Thats the place where the character of the city is most evident.Chicago doesn`t have any of that. When it comes to art ,nobody comes close to New York, but Boston,Washington,San Francisco are just a few cities who can easily rival Chicago.

  • @tigerarmyrule You say you like art and you claim that Chicago is the best place in the US when it comes to art.I have to disagree with you on that too.Case to the point - National Gallery of Art in Washington DC,Museum of Fine Arts in Boston,Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC,Museum of Modern Art in NY ,Getty Museum in Los Angeles ,Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, and of course Metropolitan Museum of Art in NY .

  • @hhhrolling I didn't say Chi was best in the US. I explicitly excluded manhattan which is obvious. You tell me I don't know what I'm talking about re pedestrianised zones. Its an opinion mate. Via del Corso, les Champs, Oxford St. Fifth ave etc none are deadzone pedestrian quasi malls. All are ultra vibrant urban places. Shinjuku adn Shibuya are the most intense urban experiences in the world bare none. Cars everywhere.

  • @tigerarmyrule "Wrigley and Fenway are by far he most famous ballparks".Well, first of all, Fenway is in Boston ,and it depends on which team fans you`re gonna ask that question. How about Yankee Stadium in NY and Dodgers stadium in Los Angeles for starters?

  • @hhhrolling yankees stadium is gone isn't it and I do know where Fenway is my friend. Ball fans globally love Wrigley and Fenway. They just do my dear chap because they are old and athmospheric. You want to diminish everythig about a major city. i can't see why. You rubbished the architecture for instance....Mies, Lloyd Wright etc The first skyscrapers. it is an architectural museum my friend. Everyone regards it as such. Go to skyscrapercity and read the comments. Do not be so blinkered.

  • @tigerarmyrule I am not trying to diminish anything about Chicago. I`m simply pointing to the abundant flaws of the claim about its greatness. Its an ordinary city and I already explained to you why I think so. Additionally I do not regard skyscrapers as a great architecture in the first place .Buckingham Palace in London or Versailles Palace in Paris is great architecture. As well as Cologne Cathedral.Even Eiffel Tower is an example of remarkable architecture. But not those look a like boxes .

  • And even if I cared about skyscrapers ,I would rather be impressed with the style of NY`s Empire State Building or the hight of Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Virtually every city on the list of most livable cities does have a pedestrian only street. And not just those cities but even Hong Kong turned Sai Yeung Choi into successful and atmospheric pedestrianized place.

"I explicitly excluded manhattan ..."And I gave a list of great museums in DC,Boston and LA to name a few.

  • @tigerarmyrule "yankee stadium is gone isn`t it". Well, not exactly. The old Yankee stadium is gone but the new one, also called Yankee stadium is alive and host baseball team with most titles in history not some team that can`t win anything for a century.LOL!. I didn`t know that an Irishmen such as yourself would be so fascinated by an American sport so much.

  • @tigerarmyrule To say that pedestrian only streets are "deadzones" is not just an opinion. Its a highly inaccurate statement .Opinion would be saying that you dislike the atmosphere of these kind of places ,that you don`t like to be among people ,and that would be fine, but thats totally different than making such false and baseless claim.

  • @hhhrolling My dear chap you are being pedantic. By calling them deadzones I am clearly expressing an opinion. Clearly I realise they are not morgues or cemetaries. Thus it is not inaccurate but is a coloured expression. metaphor and simile work like that.

  • @tigerarmyrule I am not going to dwell on the subject of pedestrian street any longer because I believe even you realized the absurdity of your initial statement about it.

And since you don`t seem to have any arguments at all,I will reiterate my opinion that Chicago is visually and emotionally unimpressive therefore very ordinary city even by North American standards. But I also understand that some people might like it, since we all have our subjective opinion ,but I am not one of those people.

  • @hhhrolling We are all merely in the grip of subjective opinion whereas you are in possession of objec tive fact is that right? If only you had told me earlier then I would have known I was wrong, absurd even, and you must be right as a matter of course since as you assure me you are above subjectivity.

  • @hhhrolling no International points of interest, no history, lmao dude you go from being subjective to being a clown. The president of the United States is from Chicago, yet it has no international point of interest? Why is ranked as the second most powerful city in the US according to the world city index? It is a financial, transportation and architectural hub. Go to the Monadnock building? The Marquette? Highly doubt it.... It is also a FOODIE HEAVEN, the art and museums are top notch

  • @WrigleyIvy21 First of all Obama is NOT from Chicago. He wasn`t born there(he was born either in Hawaii or in Africa), he didn`t grow up there (he grew up in Indonesia,Hawaii and other places),and he moved to Chicago to do his political career .Chicago`s reputation as an extremely corrupt city when it comes to politics played a major role I`d say.

"Alfa"ranking is useless. It only takes to account business factor so its no surprise that so many Third world cities are constantly added to that list.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Yes, Chicago is an important US city in terms of economics. But that does not make in an attractive city. Its probably the opposite. That`s why when it comes to the list of the most visited cities in the US by foreign visitors ,Chicago ranks very low-way behind NY, LA, Miami, San Francisco, Orlando, Las Vegas ,Boston and many others.

When it comes to the list of most livable cities ,do you think anyone cares about Chicago? No.That list is dominated by Europe ,Canada and Australia

  • @hhhrolling chicago has the 2nd biggest downtown in the US......and btw the Bears play football not baseball

"Chicago is now emerging, just now, as an international food destination, just called the new Barcelona. And at this point these people are struggling mightily to give the impression that it’s a cow town. That’s awful. There are only two cities in America. This is one of them." - Anthony Bourdain

  • @WrigleyIvy21 It does have a second largest downtown in the US,but it still feels small.Because that`s what it is.Few blocks West of State street and urban feel just evaporates.I don`t know who`s Anthony Bourdain is but practically any city can find someone who can say a nice thing or two about them.

  • @hhhrolling "the most boring city in America" Like I said what is your comparison then? If you knew anything about Chicago you would know that it runs North/South in terms of area, not east/west ...but then again I'm not the one forming opinions on a city on what looks to be a one time visit? It has the tallest building in the western hemisphere and one of the most unique park systems of any US city. Chicago isn't limited to its downtown, the river park/lincoln park area is the nightlife scene.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Ok, I should probably have said "the most boring big city in America".My earlier comments clearly states the reasons behind such statement. You , on the other hand, resort to vague and unsubstantiated claims about "most unique park system".North -South in terms of area?LOL! There are areas in all directions ,you silly girl, and would that have made you to feel any better if I said that there are ghettos to the South of the Downtown?Because there are!As well as to the East .

  • @hhhrolling there are ghettos to the east of downtown chicago? REALLY? pretty sure a large fresh body of water sits there...called lake Michigan......honestly have you ever been to Chicago or do you just not have any clue as to what is west and what is east?

  • @hhhrolling you're the one saying the downtown feels small because once you go west it ends.....uh duh ....like I said the downtown area RUNS NORTH TO SOUTH along the lake look at the skyline in any picture, maybe if you knew anything about where you were going. My point had nothing to do with you calling it a small feeling downtown....ya because you headed west dummy!

  • @WrigleyIvy21 You have a very strange definition of geography I suppose. There is no such thing as "downtown runs"in one direction. There are more buildings built north-south directions but it doesn`t mean it "runs" that way. If you go from Michigan Avenue towards State street along lets say Adams street .you`re not gonna tell me it runs north to south, aren`t you?So if you leave the relatively small downtown are ...any direction other than the Lake...you are in a ghetto.

  • @hhhrolling if you go north of the lake you are not in a ghetto and if you go east you are in a lake.....ya if you go south and west in certain parts you are in a ghetto....but ya Chicago is the only city with rough neighborhoods

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Not just south and east...north of downtown too-either its Devon ,Foster or any other street - is just block after block of same bleak ,depressing thing called city of Chicago.

Just read in USA today that Chicago is the second most congested city in America, after Washington ,even more congested than LA.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 If you like, we can do the face -off of Chicago vs any other city I have mentioned before in this discussion .Pick any city-San Francisco, New York, Las Vegas, San Diego.Pick Montreal or Vancouver if you want.I have noticed you have something against Los Angeles?Wanna do the LA-Chicago face-off?Make your pick and we`ll see how it goes.

  • @hhhrolling

it's already been done....looks like chicago does pretty well

    1. NYC

    2. CHI

    3. LA

    4. MIAMI

    5. PHILLY

  • @WrigleyIvy21 this is according to city data.com miami vs. new york city vs. chicago vs. los angeles vs. philadelhia.......The voice of the peopl

  • just go to the sit and type in the cities I said in the "detailed profile" bar enter it and the first link has your debate and results

  • @hhhrolling you want San Fran you got it....type this in google......city data.com chicago vs san francisco poll results..........

out of 87 votes....56 vote chicago 31 vote san fran

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Wow...56 votes....impressive.Perhaps all of them from Chicago who are oh so jealous of other more popular ,more attractive cities .LOL!

Here are some way more meaningful numbers for your information.According to US Commerce Department ,these are the US cities that were most visited by foreign visitors-1.NY(7.6 million),Los Angeles(2.7 million),Miami(2.3 million),San Francisco(2.3 million),Orlando(2.1 million),Las Vegas(1.7 million),Honolulu(1.6 million),Washington(1.2 million)

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Don`t try to avoid the face-off by saying that its already been done. Its gonna be you and me presenting our arguments.

I`m not even gonna pick a city myself, I am giving you a chance to do it for me.You, obviously picked Chicago, and me....what is it gonna be?

  • @hhhrolling you complain that Chicago has a "small feeling downtown" and then you talk about denver and Houston lmao......your opinion is no longer even an opinion ....it is flat out blind hate.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 All right, not only the cities that I have mentioned before are better and more beautiful places to live...but also Chicago is no better than Houston or Denver or even Phoenix...I`d rather live in Phoenix than in Chicago.

Phoenix has way better weather, one of the most awe-inspiring Worlds natural wonders -Grand Canyon- is very close, there are a lot of history to explore nearby, city has great museums like Heard museum, beautiful Desert botanical Gardens, shopping, sports, parks, etc

  • @hhhrolling don't get butt hurt because I just showed you examples in where voters vote Chicago as a more enjoyable city that any of the others you wanted to compare to it.......still have no clue where you are from .I literally just spit out my coffee and I'm not drinking any when you said Denver and Houston are better cities than Chicago..... Chicago has better museums than Phoenix, better restaurants, better sports, better city parks .....only thing they have is weather...

  • @WrigleyIvy21 What you showed me was something that is based on 52 internet votes. What I showed you was something that is backed by MILLIONS of people who actually payed their own money to visit cities of their choice. So which example has more meaning?I think you know the answer.LOL!

And as I understand you don`t want to do a face-off because you know that Midwestern cowtown of Chicago doesn`t stand a chance against New York,Los Angeles, San Francisco,San Diego, Montreal, Las Vegas,Vancouver .

  • @hhhrolling Ask anybody who has been to Chicago and New York other than an East Coaster. They will tell you they like Chicago better. As for those other cities, I have never heard them mentioned in the same sentence as Chicago. And Chicago cowtown? WTF? Chicago is considered a world class city just like New York, Tokyo, London, etc. Maybe you are referring to the down to earth people that live in Chicago.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 I didn`t say that Houston or Denver are BETTER than Chicago.I said "Chicago is no bettern than Houston or Denver".Which exactly is the case.Things you have mentioned-restaurants, parks,museums- that in your opinion makes Chicago great...are just as present in Denver, Houston or Phoenix. And all of those cities have advantages over Chicago too. That means there is no exceptional qualities to ALL of those cities , nothing that would make them distinct and truly great.

  • I live in Denver. I used to live in Chicago. I can tell you now, in every aspect (except for a mountain view and less traffic), Chicago Beats Denver.

  • @hhhrolling Chicago just made the list of the most economical cities in the world at #4 behind Tokyo but ahead of Paris. take that biatch! CHICAGO ALL DAY!!! GO BULLS!!!! GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!

  • @26Deacon You`re still here every time making even a bigger fool of yourself with the help of your pathetic ghetto vocabulary and meaningless, lacking any argument responses?LOL! Take it easy, homie,I do understand how a craphole like Chicago feels like its the best place on Earth for someone so mentally challenged like yourself. Its a perfect match-shitty place for a shitty person.

  • @hhhrolling i see you still have no life too biatch. dont get mad cause you come from a boring ass shit hole town. Chicago is the place to be right now. Chicago has the best restaurants, housing, public transit, museums, skyline, night life, skyscrapers, parks, beaches & the women. CHI-TOWN STAND UP!!!! GO BULLS!!!! GO BLACKHAWKS!!!!!

  • Women? But you don`t care about women since you spend all your time embarrassing yourself and your crappy town on internet.Still using same old lame "Chi-town stand up" bullshit as you did years ago.LOL! The best what? Parks, restaurants, museums? If your idea about restaurant is Mc Donald`s ,you can`t afford a car so you have to use L train,Cabrini ghetto project is your housing, and museum is a word you`ve heard but have no idea what it is ,then Chicago is your town. You`re a total loser, my nigger

  • @hhhrolling McDonald's? ha ha ha. thats all you can afford to eat biatch. besides my wife's good cooking i eats at BJ's Market(soul food), Ronny's Steak house, Home Run Inn Pizza, mexican joints along clark street here on the northside, jamaican jerk chicken spots on the north & southsides, chinese joints, etc. so stick to your McDonald's biatch. i can afford a car too biatch but im saving hundreds of dollars taking the cta. so im never broke like you biatch. ha ha ha ha! CHI-TOWN STAND UP!!!!

  • @26Deacon Yeah, my nigger, you really know your shit...eating hot-dog at the "restaurant"on the wheels on the corner of the street corner of public housing development and riding public transportation .LOL! MORON!

  • @26Deacon MORON! "Most economical" means most affordable, cheapest and so on.Learn English you piece of nigger shit!

But I know its never gonna happen, so ask your fat ass nigger mama pimp to let you go back to do your usual job in Boys Town.LOL!

  • @hhbitchling you are one faggot ass troll hoe. ha ha ha.dont get mad cause you're from a trailer park trash town & im from the greatest city in the world. CHICAGO ALL DAY!!! GO BULLS!!!

  • @26Deacon Keep it rubbing...my nigger...you`re doing just fine...

  • @hhfaggotass keep talking like a bitch... my trailer park hoe. you're doing just fine. CHI-TOWN STAND UP!!!

  • @26Deacon "Talking like a bitch"? Wow! That`s clever! You`re one smart nigger.Just keep it rubbing ...Why you want Shit-Town to stand up?Is that mean its laying low ?Ha ha! But you just keep it rubbing...keep it stroking...That is what you were born to do ...LOL!

  • @WrigleyIvy21 this guy hhhrolling has gotta be on crack & meth. Denver & Houston are not world class cities like Chicago which just made the list of the most economical cities in the world at #4 behind only Tokyo. Denver & Houston are nowhere near the list.

  • @26Deacon Do you understand what you just said, idiot?

"most economical cities"? "Economical"?Are you listing some of the cheapest cities in the world? Remind me, why am I suppose to waste my time on illiterate idiots like you?

  • @hhhrolling economical meaning cities that generate the most money around the world dumb ass. what 3rd world education did you have? ha ha ha! CHI-CITY!!!

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Anthony Bourdain is a world renowned chef/writer who has a show on the travel channel where he visits cities across the globe and experiences the culture/food/ people etc..........I like his opinion over some bigot that claims "Chicago is the most boring city in America" .... Type in alpha cities on google and click the first link ....Chicago is an ALPHA + city along with Dubai, Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo ...etc....above LA....it is a top ten global finance center in the world.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Bourdain ? That guy from Travel channel? He said so many things about many places. He loves Vietnam,Romania,Namibia, Uruguay, Mongolia, etc. He really loves Seattle by the way.

Anyway...read my earlier comments -there you will find all the answers ,and there you can see that I already debunked any of the same old claims about parks , museums or other non-distinct components that you are making in order to deny undeniable truth that Chicago is the most boring big city in America.

  • @hhhrolling ya I'm not denying he didn't love those places...but you didn't answer any of the clear arguments I made for why Chicago is indeed a great city. My quote from Bourdain is a prime example of downtown areas in the US.....you say it "Feels small and slow" but it is the 2nd biggest downtown in the US....oh and give me a break on the Obama argument., thanks for enlightening me on where he was born.I said "ONE OF the most unique" if you knew anything about its planning by Daniel Burnham.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Read it again, and you`ll see that none of your arguments stands against the one made by me earlier ,where I clearly say why Chicago is not a great city at all. It is big in terms of population, but it lacks the charisma, style, points of interests, iconic architecture(formerly Sears tower is not high on the list of most visited sights),natural beauty, etcEvery big city has parks and museums, there`s nothing unique about the ones that are in Chicago. Its reality whether you like it or not

  • @hhhrolling if you believe there are 5 cities in America with better architecture than Chicago you are absolutely mad! The Sears Tower isn't even the iconic skyscraper of elegance.....the hancock is.

  • @WrigleyIvy21 Ha ha! John Hancock is the icon of elegance?LOL!You`re delusional! Nobody outside of Chicago gives a damn about this or any other skyscraper from your city.Empire State Building in NY,Petronas in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei 101 in Taiwan,China Central TV headquarters in Beijing,Burj Khalifa in Dubai,Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, those are just some of the skyscrapers that are way more known and famous than any that Chicago has...Skyscrapers are more of a Third world thing anyway...

  • @hhhrolling true. chicago will always be below new york city, london, and los angeles. NYC & London! THE ONLY 2 ALPHA ++ CITIES ON EARTH!

  • @TheArthurAndersen Chicago is ranked higher amongst alpha cities than LA according to wikipedia's (I know) global city index....Chicago is a main transportation center, finance center, has a prominent skyline....etc....searc global cities on wikipedia and look at it Chicago is ranked overall higher than LA

  • @hhhrolling this is where you lose all credibility, you clearly haven't experienced Chicago.

  • the world's greatest city! CHI-CITY BABY! GO HAWKS!!!

  • @hhhrolling oh shut up where are you from i bet your city is boring

  • @mimibutterfly101

    Chicago ?Yawn....

  • the most beutiful city.
