Your reviews are silly and childish. I'll agree that the combat can use some help, but you didn't exactly show the areas where the game shines. FF9 is meant for it's amazingly fun sidequests and mini games that keeps the player want to look for items without any help. Also, the story line and character development is charming and you can easily connect with them. I remember years back when I played this game, I loved all the characters. Compare that to FF13 and you see just how great FF9 is.
i was considering buying this game form the PSN store, the game itself looks great but i was so disgusted by your review that i am no longer going to purchase it
@PRINCESSCUDDLY1 That's too bad. It's a good game! Great story, and while the battle system could use some help, at least the sidequests are great compared to other FF games. Thanks for checking out the review.
this was great nick. This really inspired me to get my ass going with the video game reviews I have been talking about making for months. Still need a show name....and intro theme....and a rating system. :/
Please make more!! I am pumped to hear you are making a KOTOR one! :D
@NickDeperto Thanks Nick! Yeah, I've been looking forward to your reviews for a while now--I myself shouldn't have taken eight months to make this one!
I hope to be getting the KOTOR review out within a month. I don't want to take as long as I did with this one again! Plus, I already have some ideas for the KOTOR review.
@DJ17Nario Great review. Great improvement over the Shadow the Hedgehog review. I kinda disagreed with Trance. Well, it wasn't as great as FF7 and FF8 limit, but it saved me many times in boss battles, but it was garbage in normal battles. I agreed how great the music was. Learning new Blue Magic was excecuted better in this game than other FF-games. Chocobo Hot and Cold was funny too. This review wasn't as detailed as I expected, but it was better than Shadow the Hedgehog review.
Great review, though the background music was a bit loud some times, especially near the start.
I love this game, though I agree with it having some flaws. I don't think any FF-game is perfect...besides FF4 and 5. I'm one of the few people who didn't like FF7 or FF8. While those two had great music, they took away everything I liked about the series. FF9 redeemed everything in my eyes. Never understood why so many people seem to hate it. I hope next FF-game goes FF9-style again. About time.
@RealDadaph Good to see you again! And yes, we NEED another FF9-style game again, and not as a spin-off either like the DS game 4 Warriors of Light, but as a main roman numeral FF title. It's been 12 years since FF was back at its roots (in FF9), and I say that's too long of a time.
I love this review Nario! :D I agree that Trance is totally unreliable. But I also agree about how awesome the story is! FF9 has such gorgeous music and it's got the best art direction of anything ever in my opinion! :D You should make more reviews! ^_^
Yay! I really enjoyed this review. I like how you pointed out flaws and didn't just fanboy over the game. Although the fanboying that was involved was totally justified. XD The Chocobo Hot and Cold song was great - would love to hear you do an actual arrangement of it someday. And the opening song was really catchy too. I've been wanting to pick up FF 9 for my PSP for a while now despite having it on PS1. XD
Nice review. Pretty much agree with you on your thoughts. It's arguably the most underrated title in the series...charm and originality practically oozes from the plot and setting, something the modern Final Fantasy games seem to have forgotten. The banter between Zidane and Steiner is quite funny at times. It's a good package overall, with the best ending in an FF game ever! Soundtrack's pretty good too. I love Vamo Alla Flamenco and the Marsh Theme in particular.

Still so much more to the game. Yan Yan's, Ozma, Flying Chocobo's, Zidane's extra long tail on a chocobo. I really enjoyed playing FF9.
Btw, this is Andrew.
