  • This is better than Wet Paint!

  • Jho0/

  • from the first sighting of the "danger " in crimson red, from that timespot on in this clip, for me gets kinda intense...and i like.

  • what real life song is this a cover of ?

  • I want this song on my iPod!!!!

  • "Or mention Sherman in Savannah..."

ROFLMAO! Didn't recall that as a kid, clearly because I didn't understand it. Never see that kind of *wink* adult humor in modern day Sesame Street, *sigh*

  • Are these Muppets supposed to spoof The Police (AKA) "Sting?"

  • I miss the Darkness of the 80s !!!

  • Speaking of Elmo's world.. Elmo needs to be hurt more often, as if he was been created to be immune to injury. NOTHING BAD EVER HAPPENS TO HIM!! Every other puppet from Sesame Street has been injured in some form or another. If Elmo got hurt more often or was in more 'dangerous'situations with the risks explained by adults... people could tolerate Elmo's existence.

  • I hate Elmo's World

  • I was a little kid the first I saw this and that was twenty something years ago.

  • The Moo Wave, Love it

  • i saw this twice in the 90's and i was wondering if i ever would see it gain since the lyrics did stick with me but i just couldn't remember the song, sure brings back memories

  • the orange guy with the horns and the drummer kills me...lol xD

  • How Now Brown's two songs are the awesomest! Chris Cerf was always my favorite Sesame Street singer!

  • wait, did he just say "don't mention sherman in savannah?" aaahahahaha

  • 0:02 The orange guy with the horns, lol.

  • Bill Nye the Science Guy took the idea of paroding music videos and used the idea in the show of every episode.

  • Two people never learned to read that danger sign.

  • This was my favorite SS song back in the day. Great song and great message. Miss the days when kids programs actually taught kids something. This song actually reminds me a lot of Blue Oyster Cult's 'Burning for You'. Perhaps the writer of this song was a fan of theirs.

  • I've always loved the man who plays the organ with his nose

  • Gotta love that Linn Drum! Peace.

  • this is better than the gummy bear song

  • I loved this song as a kid but the part where that girl is holding onto the piano for dear life only to fall to her death. (And ya know she def. died) disturbed the crap out of me as a kid.

    Other than that, Awesome vid!

  • Did the kid on the piano died?

  • @ConnDevi88 Naw, knowing Sesame Street, that girl probably emerged from the debris of broken piano, rather dazed and her mouth full of piano keys :P

  • @wileyk209zback That as suppose to be a girl on the piano?

  • @ConnDevi88 He's a stunman...he's OK.

  • Sesame Street needs to show more of these totally awesome, kick-ass classics! Screw Elmo's World!

  • @dina81 Yes...for real :)

  • This Song STILL is Stuck in My Head after ALL THESE YEARS!!!! =D

  • Break it down puppets! That was AWESOME! 8)

  • 2 people walked under a falling piano.

  • great video and good song.

i wonder they have that song on a sesame street album.

    bye-tori

  • I feel like a proud 80s kid hearing this again. :D

  • Obviously the 2 people who disliked this video have no apppreciation of what this represents!

  • Today this was totally innaproppriate... to show this to young children... with the bombs and smoke... but it sure teaches you a lesson.... ahhh the beautiful simplicity of the world before things changed....

  • Oh How Now Brown... if only you had more than 2 songs...

  • Don't spend the winter in Montana, don't bring up Sherman in Savannah.

    Brilliant.

  • its not supposed to be sad its supposed to be educational and warn people about danger and reading the sign to know what it means its not scary or sad its cool

  • The guy on the falling piano is scary!!!!!!! This makes me sad.

  • OMG!!! I have been looking for this video for the last 5 years. I was like 6 when i remember first hearing it and I still remember it now. I'm 29. The nostalgic hammer hits me again!!! Thank you to Sesame Street for bringing me back!!

  • ooh- LOVE this!

bring back old sesame street, please! i grew up on SS (mid-to-late '80s/early '90s, so i saw the oldies<3!) & feel that i learned to love pop-culture, comedy, & reading because of it!

i am a daycare teacher & show this stuff to my 1-year-olds through youtube & they love it! :D no need to dumb-down tv for little ones; don*t underestimate how smart they are & how fast they catch on to things.

make childrens' TV enjoyable for children AND the adults watching with them! :)

  • This is the weirdest Sesame skit I've ever seen, and I've spent an inordinate amount of time watching Sesame Street on youtube.

  • they are from wet paint song

  • god the last time i heard this i was like 5

  • "Don't mention Sherman in Savannah?" Brilliant!

Also like "Don't try to pet a Porcupine"-that's classic.

    This is badass!

  • @glowworm2 That's for sure. This song always made me stay away from "DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE" signs!

  • /watch?v=erZTul1OgtI

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh SesameStreet uh uhu huhuuuhuhuhu... AaAahHAhaHAHahHAhHA

  • @nuttysfunny23 /watch?v=erZTul1OgtI

  • The fact that I'm a metalhead was probably one reason why I like this, LOL. Funny how Sesame Street could be a bit like Headbanger's Ball sometimes!

BTW, around the same time a metal band called Laaz Rockit made an album called No Stranger To Danger. Any relation I wonder?

  • One of the COOLEST things Sesame Street ever did! I first saw this as a teen in the 80s and thought it was awesome. I THOUGHT I had outgrown SS but this basically made me into a renewed fan. That is until Elmo's World came along and the show went down the tubes. They NEVER show classics like this on the Street anymore! Old School Sesame Street Rules! Death To Elmo's World! Some say SS was past its best by the 80s. They've obviously never seen this LOL

  • One part of this song I don't get is mention Sherman in Montana why not?

  • You mean Sherman in Savannah. It goes back to the Civil War. General Sherman burned down Savannah Georgia.

  • Another song I can picture on raido is wet paint sung by these same people.

  • Comment removed

  • @redffox409 How Now Brown and the Moo Wave.

  • @jtomally9681 /watch?v=erZTul1OgtI

  • @Skyoneer2007 What is that suppose to mean?

  • @jtomally9681 copy and past it fater the youtube link, Im playing drums to this song

  • This is one of the few children's songs I can actually picture hearing on the radio. The song sounds like something a professional music artist would sing.

  • LOL Yes! This song is amazing. I found myself singing it today and I had to find it.

  • when I saw a truck carrying the "Danger" or "Dangerous" HAZMAT placard, it reminded me of this segment.

  • In regards to that female muppet hanging at 1:47, what are the odds that she survived that fall? I would say it's a 30% chance that she lived.

  • I'd say 20 percent. She was all but tied to the piano.

  • Death of a muppet on Sesame Street.

  • Danger is so not my middle name.

I've come to really appreciate life after seeing "1000 Ways to Die"

  • The 80s were the SHIT !!!

  • NOW you're talkin'!!! I'm a big fan of new wave music, right here. Chris Cerf is THE man, I tell ya!

  • Really find me another show aimed at 3 yr olds that has smoke machines and the sound of bombs exploding in a dark alley?

  • This is a good way to show things to kids that are dangerous.

  • How Now Brown and the Moo Wave were basicly new-wave rock music. Period.

  • You idiots! This is an 80's new Wave song! What is wrong with you people! DANGER!

  • Somebody needs to listen to rap, cause this no where near it.

  • That is what I have been saying.

  • the cows are dangeris they r madcows

  • Reminds me alot of "Dangerous Games" by the 80s melodic rock band Alcatrazz. Hell, the muppet lead singer sounds alot like Graham Bonnett, the lead singer of Alcatrazz.

  • out of all the first what 8 comments it takes the 9th here to get it right this is more of an 80's pop music more than anythign rock and alternative ??? lol u must be joking...last time i checked emo kids didnt sound like this and im pretty sure GnR dont sound like this neither does rolling stones lol so ur fucking up...

  • Technically this kind of pop music is a mixture between rock and alternative. Either way the point is this was excellent in my childhood days and it is excellent to see it again.

  • So who are you agreeing with on what type of music it is? In my opinion this is not pop and defiantly not rap. It sounds more like a mix between rock and alternative to me. Check out the Wet Paint on and you will see what I mean.

  • Truly you are unversed in 80s rock and roll. Most of what is accepted these days as rock is crap, especially emo. You're right, GNR don't fit this category and neither do the Rolling Stones, because they're not melodic rock. To see what I'm talking about, you need to check out bands like post-Dio-era Rainbow, Alcatrazz, Joe Lynn Turner, Axe, Statetrooper, Whitesnake, Survivor, and Asia, to name a few.

  • I'd love to see a cover of this song by The Police.

  • @fiervahl Yeah, with a guitar legend, like Clapton or Van Halen throwing down a sick solo :)

  • danger everywhere they made me parenoid when i was a kid the funny thing is i got hurt a lot anyway

  • Wow this one used to scare me as a kid--the thing that sticks out most in my mind is those three lampposts in the middle of the screen. I always thought they were windows with glowing fire in them. The end of Wet Paint also used to scare me--when the screen would melt. o_o

  • Yeah, this song is pretty dark. But it did teach me to stay away from "DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE" signs on power transformers and electric towers!

  • The three lampposts? Not scary to me.

What's really freaky is who--or what--was at that piano before it dropped!

  • And another thing: Random bulldozer!!

  • Yes, yes it was.

  • Oh wow, I can still remember seeing this clip at my grandparents' house. The song has been stuck in my head for YEARS, and I still love it. And BOY did I know to stay away from signs with "Danger" written on them!

  • The DARKNESS of teE 80s was beautiful!

  • this stopped creepin me out as soon as jim henson died

  • I wonder if Wile E. Coyote was the one dropping that piano?

  • Find me another show aimed at 3 yr olds that has smoke machines and the sound of bombs exploding in a dark alley.

  • Comment removed

  • @brianklick /watch?v=erZTul1OgtI

  • @brianklick Pretty sure that back then it was aimed towards 4-7 year olds.

  • OK this is more just silly rather than educational. I mean down't walk under a falling piano or spend the winter in Montana?

  • there explainging certain things that are DANGERous i find it quite educational

  • you'd have to explain the civil war to the kids in order for them to understand "or mention sherman in savannah."

  • It's good to teach kids not to walk under the piano but don't you think they sort of undermind that lesson with the kid who's riding it? That part used to scare me when I was little but other than that I used to love this clip! And I totally agreee with the person who said they need to play this on the show again.

  • You got that right. I have always loved this musical.

  • lol, "Don't mention Sherman in Savannah"

  • Or spend the winter in Montana!! lol!! Damn it all man!! Danger's No Stranger!! LOL!!!

  • I remeber this song when I was 4 it almost scared that time.

  • i got some candy

  • Chris cerf was the bomb when it came to writing songs for SS. wat made him extra cool was that he was the one that sang the cool ones himself

  • They need to re-air this (or make an updated version). Then we won't have too many kids getting hurt and being kidnapped by scary pedos.

  • This skit seems up-to-date enough to re-air it as it is, that is, compared to the Little Jerry "Danger" song. But they would probably not air it until an episode centering about safety or something comes up (such as crossing the street without trouble, or a car accident episode, or the gang rides on a train, etc.)

  • This is one of ALL TIME FAVES! XD

  • This is definately the darker side of Sesame Street...which is why it's so dang awesome!

  • ScratStitch: Yep, the new and "improved" *snarf* SS wouldn't dare do this, cuz it's too "dangerous" XD

  • This scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid. Thing is, I love it now. The synth drums are indeed awesome. They don't make SS like they used to! :D

  • thats so very true! lol i remember when i was a kid me and my grandmother used to watch this an we loved it so much! then.. when the new ones came out, its was like O_o..not the same

  • Yeah, I think I was kinda bothered by that boy on the piano scene. But today, the song's so awesome. Plus it did teach me to stay away from power transformers with "DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE" signs on them when I was a kid.

  • DDAAAAAAAAAAANNNGEEEERRRRR!!!!!

  • rock music + active traffic + big explosions = extreme awesomeness!

  • Bull crap. This is no where close to rap.

  • sorry but it is, and rap music and r&b are still number 1 and 2 respectively in sales. white girls love black men

  • Still disagree. This is a mixture of Rock and Alternative.

  • This is New Wave which unlike rap, is an amazing genre of music.

  • Precisely.

  • /watch?v=erZTul1OgtI

  • @Nerdy2theLimit

    hi, Durlin Lurt - Danger

  • @ElMastero /watch?v=erZTul1OgtI

  • Rap is spoken...this is all sung...

  • Like I have been saying. This is music, not rap.

  • isnt rap music????isnt anything that has rhythm music ??? for that matter but besides the point, why r u guys questioning a childrens television show? is this a question u couldnt solve as a kid so now ur all grown up and big enough to type random stuff but yet ur still puzzling over the same things...(sounds like the average human beings life myself included)

  • Excuse me, but I was not questioning this vid. I was making a point to the difference between this and rap.

  • Yeah. If you wanna hear rap on Sesame Street, listen to the "Murray Has a Little Lamb" theme!

  • ok listen to what ur saying (i dont agree this is a rap this is more like a pop song anyone can tell lsten to the rythm and the flashing lights lol) you have to be stupid rap is poken ??? isnt it flowed isnt it spit with a rythm of music meaning its sung rappers dont say oh i spoke to that instrumental they say i sung to it i flowed to it i spit to it not I SPOKE TO IT ur ridiculous...but hey just correcting the ignorance...

  • this is better with HQ, my speaker rumbles with HQ sound cool.

  • The synth drums rock.

  • cool lyrics - 1:54 so true.

  • this is the one that reminds me of when i was 2 years old again watching this in my living room in South County Missouri hahaha :( i was a redneck watching this hahahaha!!!!!! i miss the old days!

  • It took me a long time to figure out those were bricks falling at the end. I thought they were bombs dropping (the explosions are pretty much where they land).

Either way, great song. I love those 80s "dooo" synth drums.

  • I love the cows singing back-up. You go girls! LOL!

  • @Janet1968 I saw another video that had pigs with doo-wop hairdos. It seems Farm animals make good backup singers.

  • dont walk under a fallin PIANA! funny

    atleast it rhythms with banana

  • "don't mention sherman in savannah", lol-- kid's tv used to be a lot more sophisticated than it is now

  • wow...the good old days.I use to love this show!

  • "Don't spend the winter in Montana" - lol - if i actually lived in Montana and saw this as a kid it would have really scared me!

  • nice drum role at the end

  • This song never freaked me out when I was little as far as I remember, but oh god,I still remember how Wet Paint realyl got me. :P

  • sesame street can ut farm animals in anything... only part of why i love it =]

  • i love this and cereal girl

  • i'm right there with you. i just sang that sond during dinner

  • they dont make songs this good anymore
