The time and volatility factors are everything here. I used to put these on back in the 90's with decent success based on seasonal variations in commodities, noting time value and volatility factors. Certain commodities were extremely predictable over the course of the years; the charts would show virtual sine waves over the year-long technicals and one could jump in and out of profitable straddles as long as they were patient.
