I remember this, and it was awesome! There was controversy at the time, because up to that point, Montreux had been a ***live*** music extravaganza (I have the DVD of Mike Oldfield's 1979 concert, and it's also awesome)., but that year, they went to playback for purposes of TV - specifically MTV. One could only imagine the "anti-yankee-TV" sentiment felt there, until Frankie expressed it by smashing their s*** before the tape ended. :-D
WHAT AN ARTIST HOLLY JOHNSON WAS AND STILL IS AS PERFORMING TO HIS GREAT STANDARDS WHEN HE PERFORM HIS BEST HITS FROM HIS FRANKIE AND SOLO DAYS AT THE 80S REWIND FESTIVAL IN HENLEY ON THAMES UK OVER THE PAST WEEKEND .THAT NOW IS BEING COMPLIMENTED WITH HIS NEW ALBUM OF REMIXES OF ALBUM TRACKS OLD & NEW SOULSTREAM OUT SEPT 26TH
I remember watching this on TV! I couldn't wait for Frankie to release the "Rage Hard" single as it had been so long since they released "Welcome To The Pleasuredome". Loved the "Liverpool" album. "Warriors" and "Maximum Joy" were my fave tracks!
