I've got the Home Menu up on my Wii right now, and I'm partway through Chapter 4. Currently debating whether or not to carry on, or watch a playthrough.

Reading these comments, heavily leaning toward the latter.

Seriously, first three chapters are 'so bad it's funny', then it's just UGH THIS IS AWFUL.

This game creates nostalgia..., it's not memories of Doctor Who it's the fact the graphics used a TARDIS to travel from the 1990s. But seriously this game looks as though they spent a fifteenth of the time it took to develop the Doctor Who Adventure Games to develop this.

This game is the prime reason why the Wii ha a bad rep. If developers actully put some effort into their shovelware then the Wii would be a lot more popular with the PS360 peeps.

To be honest, I personally don't think these bile-inducing excuses for graphics would have been rendered as they are on the PS1 (incidentally the first hotbed for mass shovelware, since we are on that subject), so I went with the next direct thing on the console power line, whether *I* would have liked it or not.

You're right, the graphics ARE crap.

But you know, I think their budget just wasn't big enough to do a better job. Good quality games with decent animation take millions of pounds/dollars/whatever to produce and hell of a lot of time. As popular as Doctor Who is, I don't expect the BBC to spend that amound of time and money on a game. (And if we're honest, games of TV series and movies generally end up bad. With a few exceptions.)

Though that still doesn't change the fact that the game is crap.

See, I think the problem with this begins with the writers not respecting the video game genre. The adventure genre has a long history of classics from Monkey Island to Quest for Glory, and Doctor Who is anything but a shoot-em-up game which violent western cultures masturbate over. Doctor Who would ideally fit in to the adventure genre, but lets face it--while those games are beloved cult hits, they're just not strong as games go. You have to understand and respect that to develop for them.
