As someone that graduated from Bama, I would love to see the trend of black qbs going to Bama to sit the bench ended. That is what I like about Saban.If you can play, he;s going to play you.
@Davecm008 Believe it or not, but I kind of think the same thing too. AJ has a cannon, but Phillip has the accuracy, better mechanics, and the cannon. I just hope the coaches don't use the experience bullshit as an excuse to start AJ over Phillip. May the best QB win the job IMO.

He has a really quick release as well. Like you say, may the best QB win. But as a native Virginian, I'd personally love to see Sims represent!

He looks athletic enough to me to elude pressure. He isn't going to be doing much running and that's fine with me. He has a very strong arm and can throw it anywhere on the field. Really reminds me of David Garrard.

4.9 still isn't very promising. DJ Fluker can run a 4.9 40 meter... He doesn't need to be fast, Bama doesn't use their QBs like that. He just needs to have the elusiveness to get out of tough situations like McElroy does.

Phillip Sims is way better than cameron newton. Cameron Newton is a dumbass he can't even get eligible. He only has 2 years on eligiblity left. Now way he will understand all of Gus Mahlzahns plays. On the other hand Phillip Sims is enrolling early. Phillip Sims> Cameron Newton.
if he can adjust to playing under center and making decisions in a college paced game, this guy has about the perfect arm, size, and technique to become a starter
