Love this card and technique. Instantly inspired me to revise how I was thinking about doing my 2012 Christmas cards (it's never too early, is it?). However, I've run into a small glitch. I'm using the Spellbinders Star die and when I flip it to emboss it is cutting through in places on the side that I don't want cut. Yes, I have the cut side up, the tan mat on it, and the pink embossing plate on top. Any suggestions on how to keep this from happening? Thanks so much.
@mpcardmaker try adding a shim to pad the card out a little more and see if that helps you... or maybe a thicker card stock would solve the problem. The card I use is about 250/300 gsm and I have never had it cut through with that. Hope that helps. xx
These cards are absolutely beautiful!! Your tutorial is awesome, everything so well explained and not too quickly. Thankyou so much, looking forward to watching more of your videos. Have a wonderfully creative day. Janice, NZ.
Hey, I've just been back to England, so lucky you didnt say that a few weeks ago, otherwise I'd have been on your doorstep, PACKETS of biscuits in hand!!! Back in Oz now, but watch out, I may be tempted by that invitation. Ha ha. Thanks for everything. Your truly VERY VERY inspiring xxx
Unbelievable Christine. You are truly amazing. I cant tell you how excited I get when I see that you've made another card for us all to see. And now I've received both of these parisian nesties and I also have the rose die and the leaves, oh my gosh, there's going to be no stopping me. I'm just waiting for a day off and I'm gonna sit down with you (and my computer) and follow along. I just cant wait. Thanks so much. These are just beautiful. Hugs.
@cardmakingpom You are going to love those Parisian dies they are truly gorgeous ... and so versatile. I would love to come and play at your house ... just think what we could come up with together.... so you get the coffee going and I'll bring the biscuits.
These are beautiful cards, what a wonderful and diverse use of these dies...great job...and thanks so much for sharing, and going slow and thorough thru your explanations on how to do it....
@mcescher1957 You could make this card on a smaller scale and with any of the dies that you have. I did the same technique with the Fleur Di Lis squares and it was gorgeous...and use masks or embossing folders instead of the large Impressablities. But it is such a lovely card that it will look good any size you make it and please consider adding your card photos to the Gallery page on the website.... hope the birthday fairy is good to you... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. xx
These are so gorgeous Christine!!! I've just got the cuttlebug so the big dies won't fit through it. However the other dies will & I did but a set y'day but not the 1's you have shown. I'm slowly building my stash up. Thank you for sharing as always & looking forward to the next video xx
These are some of the most beautiful cards I have ever seen. Thanks for the tutorial. I am definitely going to try to do this.
