I lived on 19th street from 1941 to 1950. I was a little boy then. I recognized that bank on the corner. Strange thing I remember an old man with his pants down around his ankles and a huge BM in his pants. Used to watch serials at the Castro theater for 20 cents. On Halloween the Shriners would actually throw you in a jail cell on the sidewalk until you coughed up some change for charity. Used to put rocks on the streetcar rails to watch them vaporize when runn over.
