this was before 2008 i believe because ma lin is using red skyline 2 still he speed glued un till after the olympics which was 08, thats when yasaka sponserd him to use yasaka new era black

@GeneralSpecific3 i use a $4 butterfly net and bend the end flat, push it along the floor and will pick up maybe 100 balls at once.

wtf, how can u say, that, he doesn't use speed glue (in this vid)? just listen to the sound when he hits the ball.

anyway, for chinese rubbers you need about 15 layers of glue, otherwise you won't get any speed from the rubber.

Well it depends, Chinese rubber gets a different type of speed, like the Skyline he uses, it picks up speed after it bounces and takes off then. It's a quick attack, constant speed that's consistant. Most top players dont use the fastest stuff, so many still use Sriver and half the top women use Hurricane 3.

yeah, but no pro player plays an unglued or untuned rubber if it's a sriver or skyline. Some also use tenergys or tensor rubbers that have been factory tuned

its because of the blade. the rubers are glued 10 times or more. u dont have to do much to let them fly like rockets

its all technique you noob.. glue got nothing to do with it.. they explode a split fraction of second before they contact the ball.. its perfect tecnique..

Glue does help with the speed and rotation. The glue actually saturates the rubber and makes it more elastic. Search "speed glue" on wiki. Secondly, I am not sure if people train using speed glue but I am sure that they do use it in competition.

There is no point in training without speed glue & then using it in a competition, as all your strokes need to re re-adjusted. Top players (would have up until now) glue from training as well as competitions.
