  • will this thicken up a metal zone?

  • @UnpacifiedResistance The metal zone can sound kinda hollow, IMO... but it'll definitely add something. ;)

  • @UnpacifiedResistance why dont you considering a delay with 50-100ms time set! this should probably thicken the tone or may be use an octaver!

  • @TheBlackxism 50-100ms? what does ms stand for? i guess i'm a noob. oh well.

  • @UnpacifiedResistance Milliseconds. It's a measurement of time specific to, among other things, delay pedal repeats.

  • can you combine the modes on it? or is it only one at a time??

  • @youknowyourrite1 Only one at a time. There's a company out there called Fromel Electronics though — they're making a DC-2 clone(-ish) where you can combine the modes. It used to be called the 'Lush' ... but is now called the 'Seraph.' I've played a Lush and it was very nice. Pricey though.

  • what kind of reverb were you using in the beginning when you show the clean signal with the reverb?

  • @GhostofDavidBazan Amp reverb, I believe.

  • a friend just gave me this chorus :) probably the best chorus ever made really..

  • @VKzGibson You're lucky to have such generous friends. :)

  • @crxshdxmmy i know :)

  • I want to hear more just clean sound. It's beautiful

  • Your amp in clean mode sounds great! I have a Mesa Triple Rec. But l liked it better w/o the reverb.

Good demo. l have an original RC-2 from the 70s and it still works, but l don't use it because l usually just like a clean tone. But l have used it as a stereo splitter for 2 amps before.

  • @davidbrucemusicvideo Thanks!!

  • Just to mention. I'm selling one! in perfect condition.. if anybody wants photos or any more info contact me over youtube :)

  • @HeavyThrashGuitar How much in €euros are you looking for?

  • What a mean sounding, cool looking son of a bitch of a pedal! I just gotta get my darn hands on one! Good Demo!

  • @1969atam Thanks!

  • @1969atam I'm selling one if you need it.

  • wow thats a nice chorus, great demo!

  • i have one :)

  • Mode 2 ftw!

  • I bought mine new in the early 80's and barely used it. It does sound wonderful but I was a metal head and so never used it. I use it now, but only at home sometimes as they are getting vauable like my DM-2. I think this pedal is great in tone and the sound is so reliable. Great for recording with for you can always nail your settings again live.

  • I have one of these. The numbers sound mostly like 4 speed presets to me. The effect level is pretty even to me. Also this is an older pedal. Using a modern humbucker like the Dimarzio evolution on my guitar will make this pedal clip.

  • @EnnesX I wouldn't totaly agree with you. I tried mine out with Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker, which is a mean humbucker and it didn't clip at all. :)

  • @HeavyThrashGuitar Clipping isn't a matter of agreement or opinion. It is a fact. Just because you are below the clipping point doesn't invalidate the information I am trying to make known to people who may not own one and are considering a purchase but have high output pickups. Your pickups are probably lower than mine, or you didn't strum hard enough when trying to test the input limit, or maybe some other factors.

  • @EnnesX Actually I did it all. And a Dimebucker has more output than a EMG 81. So?

  • Neat but I'll keep my CE-5

  • @InterspeciesErotica7 Good luck with that. :)

  • @InterspeciesErotica7 ... interspecieserotica 1-6 were taken? god damn

  • @Schpudd I didn't try 1-2 & 4-6, just tried w/o numbers, 3, and 7

  • the presets are different, they do not sound the same. slight similarity with modes 2 and 3. a great pedal, replaced my TC SCF

  • this pedal is very very TASTY,delicious CHORUS, this is a real chorus

  • I like!

  • The other thing about this is it REALLY makes a difference if you use it in stereo with two amps, preferably set as far apart as your cables will allow. I used to use it with a 20-footer so I could put the other amp all the way on the other side of any decent-sized room. Good advice for using ANY stereo effect, really.

  • @DJPeteJames The DC-2 is similar to the earlier rack mount effect, Roland SDD-320 Dimension D, but in a compact pedal format. The CE-2 is the exact same circuit as the Roland Jazz Chorus JC-120 Amp.

  • the 4 modes definitely sound different but its hard to tell when you're watching a video on your computer. this pedal is a good accompaniment to other effects. i use it with a delay and volume for swells, and its reaaaallly good.

  • Very cool demo! You show how pretty this pedal sounds! I just got one and it has replaced my BC9, I didn't think anything could.8^}

  • @drippinglass BC-9 as in Ibanez Bi-Mode Chorus ?

  • wow i like this pedal but the 4 modes sounds the same!!!! heheehe

  • Listen closely -- the intensity of the chorusing is elevated as in increase the in mode number.

  • @yanzki19 1st mode is what prevents me to sell this pedal .

  • please play welcome home sanitarium by metallica, using this pedal ? in brazil this pedal is rare

  • Sorry, I no longer have this pedal.

  • I had one of these in the 80s, sounded great

  • Yea, I just got a brand new Behringer clone for $25.00 and it sounds as good and has more variations than the Boss.

  • Behringer? Never heard of this brand... oh sorry, I now recall THE SHITTY GEAR they make for 25 bucks. Cheers.

  • Sounds like the effects used on Cyndi L (TIME AFTER TIME)

  • Behringer do a clone of this called the CC300 Chorus Space which is more flexible in that you can combine the presets. Their stuff is excellent value for money

  • I now want one of these along with a Boss SG-1... anyone know where I could get either of those?

  • Best bet is probably eBay.

  • They're running about $200 now unfortunately too

  • Look up Fromel Electronics, he makes clones of the DC. I don't know the price, but you can message him on Youtube

  • Yeah, the Lush/Seraph looks REALLY nice. I know a couple guys who have (and swear by) them.

  • hey man i have a slow gear pedal passed down from my dad, dead mint with box and the boss catolog with it.sell it cheaper than on ebay cause i really have no use for it.message me

  • Both should be expensive as hell. I have checked those two in several websites and they are really overpriced

  • Awesome. I've been spending like all afternoon searching for my favorite chorus pedals. This one NAILS it.

  • Good to hear!! It's a cool little pedal.

  • Great sounding pedal. Can I get one of these on Ebay? How much to they go for? Thanks!

  • You can find them on eBay from time to time. I think they go around $150.... cool little pedals.

  • hey i hav that pedal my dad gave it to me they dont even make them any more and i was wondering wut to do with it if u use allot of gain and a chunky sound please write back to me

  • try it out. I bet it would sound nice with low gain distortion.

  • i love this pedal.

  • TURN SOME KNOBS! :p I keed thanks for this video, now I know maybe something isn't wrong with my DC2.

  • Thanks for the Upload!

  • Aren't you on the HC forums?

  • I am.

  • So am I...check sabriel9v. I'm usually in Backstage with the Band or Music biz though. Have you tried out the Malekko echo 600 bright pedal?

  • I chill in the fx forum mostly.... but I have been known to venture out into the darker waters of HC.

I haven't tried one of those actually. I've got a Timefactor and that's doing it all for me right now. Perhaps down the line though...

  • Good question. I can't tell, unfortunately. Oh well. Thanks for the response!

  • Hey man. I have two of these pedals and they sound slightly different than each other. Not dramatically different but noticeable. Does that surprise you? Just curious. Later!

  • Do you know when/where each was made by chance?

  • Have you ever opened one up?!?!? they have 2 dials inside that can be adjusted with a screwdriver! i haven't tried it yet, incase i f**k it up, but i'm sure they either adjust the depth or rate or maybe both!

  • I didn't want to mess with them either.

  • LOL! spent the day tinckering with it yesterday! and my advice to you is dont bother!!!!

They can be adjusted, but, the settings they are already on are the best you'll find!

Although it is worth mentioning the 2 dials do have sweet points, which seem to change the depth of the effects, good or bad depending on what sound your after!

I would advise you to mark where they are set at the moment if your goin to open it. I also noticed the dial on the left adds a bit of distortion at points!

  • Comment removed

  • Ones been adjusted! open them up and you'll find 2 dials, these SEEM to adjust the depth on both occasions with the left one adding a bit of distortion!

  • Hi there Would you be interested in a swap for one of your dimension c pedals or a sale even?I have the digital version(dimension D)which has the knobs instead of the pre sets.

  • Lovin' mode 4. Cheers mate!

  • i fuckin lold

  • first time ive heard one of these in action - thanks!

Behringer have cloned and reissued this pedal - Behringer CHORUS SPACE-C CC300. I may now buy one.

  • I'm not sure how the Behringer clone compares, but this is arguably the coolest modulation pedal I've ever played -- then again, I'm not much of a modulation guy.

  • behringer have used the same circut and the same analog chips, so in theory should be identical.

i love the simplicty of this pedal - just 4 buttons! thanks for the demo :))

  • Yep. It's certainly one of the more unique Boss pedals out there. Good luck with the Behringer.

  • try this one in stereo yet? You'll never want to go back to mono.

  • try this one in stereo yet? You'll never go back to mono with it.

  • Nice demo mate! got one of these a couple of months ago from a second hand shop in Liverpool! Best pedal i've bought to date! I'm a huge Stone Roses fan and number 2 is spot on for most of thr songs! *****

  • Glad you liked it!

  • To me it sounds much like the CE-2 actually...

  • Nice vid dude! one question though.. Would you prefer using this ped instead of a Ce-5 or CH-1 when it comes to the sound quality? thanks

  • Well, truth be told, I'm not much of a modulation guy -- but this pedal has always intrigued me, so when the opportunity came to pick one up and try it out, I jumped. I really dislike the sounds of the other Boss chorus pedals I've played.... so yes, I'd rather have this one.
