@youknowyourrite1 Only one at a time. There's a company out there called Fromel Electronics though — they're making a DC-2 clone(-ish) where you can combine the modes. It used to be called the 'Lush' ... but is now called the 'Seraph.' I've played a Lush and it was very nice. Pricey though.
Your amp in clean mode sounds great! I have a Mesa Triple Rec. But l liked it better w/o the reverb.
Good demo. l have an original RC-2 from the 70s and it still works, but l don't use it because l usually just like a clean tone. But l have used it as a stereo splitter for 2 amps before.
I bought mine new in the early 80's and barely used it. It does sound wonderful but I was a metal head and so never used it. I use it now, but only at home sometimes as they are getting vauable like my DM-2. I think this pedal is great in tone and the sound is so reliable. Great for recording with for you can always nail your settings again live.
I have one of these. The numbers sound mostly like 4 speed presets to me. The effect level is pretty even to me. Also this is an older pedal. Using a modern humbucker like the Dimarzio evolution on my guitar will make this pedal clip.
@EnnesX I wouldn't totaly agree with you. I tried mine out with Seymour Duncan SH-13 Dimebucker, which is a mean humbucker and it didn't clip at all. :)
@HeavyThrashGuitar Clipping isn't a matter of agreement or opinion. It is a fact. Just because you are below the clipping point doesn't invalidate the information I am trying to make known to people who may not own one and are considering a purchase but have high output pickups. Your pickups are probably lower than mine, or you didn't strum hard enough when trying to test the input limit, or maybe some other factors.
The other thing about this is it REALLY makes a difference if you use it in stereo with two amps, preferably set as far apart as your cables will allow. I used to use it with a 20-footer so I could put the other amp all the way on the other side of any decent-sized room. Good advice for using ANY stereo effect, really.
@DJPeteJames The DC-2 is similar to the earlier rack mount effect, Roland SDD-320 Dimension D, but in a compact pedal format. The CE-2 is the exact same circuit as the Roland Jazz Chorus JC-120 Amp.
the 4 modes definitely sound different but its hard to tell when you're watching a video on your computer. this pedal is a good accompaniment to other effects. i use it with a delay and volume for swells, and its reaaaallly good.
Behringer do a clone of this called the CC300 Chorus Space which is more flexible in that you can combine the presets. Their stuff is excellent value for money
hey man i have a slow gear pedal passed down from my dad, dead mint with box and the boss catolog with it.sell it cheaper than on ebay cause i really have no use for it.message me
hey i hav that pedal my dad gave it to me they dont even make them any more and i was wondering wut to do with it if u use allot of gain and a chunky sound please write back to me
Hey man. I have two of these pedals and they sound slightly different than each other. Not dramatically different but noticeable. Does that surprise you? Just curious. Later!
Have you ever opened one up?!?!? they have 2 dials inside that can be adjusted with a screwdriver! i haven't tried it yet, incase i f**k it up, but i'm sure they either adjust the depth or rate or maybe both!
LOL! spent the day tinckering with it yesterday! and my advice to you is dont bother!!!!
They can be adjusted, but, the settings they are already on are the best you'll find!
Although it is worth mentioning the 2 dials do have sweet points, which seem to change the depth of the effects, good or bad depending on what sound your after!
I would advise you to mark where they are set at the moment if your goin to open it. I also noticed the dial on the left adds a bit of distortion at points!
These trimmers adjust the BBD clocks. If you wanted to be a reckless person (like I am time to time) you COULD replace R37 with say a 250K pot to adjust the rate. :)
Ones been adjusted! open them up and you'll find 2 dials, these SEEM to adjust the depth on both occasions with the left one adding a bit of distortion!
Hi there Would you be interested in a swap for one of your dimension c pedals or a sale even?I have the digital version(dimension D)which has the knobs instead of the pre sets.
I'm not sure how the Behringer clone compares, but this is arguably the coolest modulation pedal I've ever played -- then again, I'm not much of a modulation guy.
Nice demo mate! got one of these a couple of months ago from a second hand shop in Liverpool! Best pedal i've bought to date! I'm a huge Stone Roses fan and number 2 is spot on for most of thr songs! *****
Well, truth be told, I'm not much of a modulation guy -- but this pedal has always intrigued me, so when the opportunity came to pick one up and try it out, I jumped. I really dislike the sounds of the other Boss chorus pedals I've played.... so yes, I'd rather have this one.
will this thicken up a metal zone?
UnpacifiedResistance 1 month ago
@UnpacifiedResistance The metal zone can sound kinda hollow, IMO... but it'll definitely add something. ;)
crxshdxmmy 1 month ago
@UnpacifiedResistance why dont you considering a delay with 50-100ms time set! this should probably thicken the tone or may be use an octaver!
TheBlackxism 2 weeks ago
@TheBlackxism 50-100ms? what does ms stand for? i guess i'm a noob. oh well.
UnpacifiedResistance 2 weeks ago
@UnpacifiedResistance Milliseconds. It's a measurement of time specific to, among other things, delay pedal repeats.
