This was my wedding song. It so describes how I felt then and now. That is part of Bruce's gift. We can hear a song that is 30 years old and remember how we felt then but also connect it with new experiences. Bruce is simply a genius even though he would probably not like to hear that. However, for someone to be such a prolific writer AND to have those songs reach and touch multitudes of people....it really is nothing short of genius.

@itsybelle To my knowledge, it's never been performed live, and going back to 78, seen 59 shows and own a ton of boots.

My wife thinks I'm obssessed with Bruce, but over the last 33 years I only seen him an average of 1.787878 times a year. I've met people who have seen him 2.000000, or more times over that period. **THEY** need help. Springseen detox and then maybe a 12 step program: 1) Acknowledge that Bruce Springsteen has taken over your life and you need help; etc., etc, and so on.

This song is so bad it wasn't released until 10 years after it was written, and then not on a "regular" album; rather on "Tracks," which just contained all his junk.

Geez, it would be the greatest song 99% of all songwriters currently working had ever writen. Mr. Springsteen is so much better than whomever is number 2, IMO, it's ridiculous to consider who that might be.
