i have the album polydistortion but there must be another version of polyesterday. does anyone know where to get exactly this version. which album is it? thank you all.
@spiegeleule1 i was looking for some Thievery Corporation track listed as track 10 from Abductions & Reconstructions. i ended here, and i don't regret :)
mtv started out as an all music video channel. "music t.v." i was there on the first day it aired back in '81 i think. and all i did was watch it, so don't ask me what the hell happened to them. it's almost like when ever americans get something good, they start to feel guilty about it and then proceed to self implode!
Btw. What the F**K happned to MTV Europe's "chill out zone" ? What F*****G idiot pulled that..?? The only whatchable show MTV ever had... I think that EVERYBODY should drop MTV a mail and demand this back NOW!
Thanks.. just as good as I remembered!! But pretty much ALL Gus Gus albums are great !!
BUY THEM.. SUPPORT "WIERD" INTELLIGENTLY COMPOSED MUSIC !! :-D
My favorite album is "Gus Gus - vs T-World" (2000).. I brought this album to the beach a nice summ er day, and played it respectlessly LOUD for all to enjoy, and subsequently, SEVERAL ppl's of all types and ages came over, and asked.. "Who is this.. What is this type of music called".. Now THAT'S quality music !! ;-)
Such a great video. and yeah, I saw it on MTV's Amp back then too! Looking back, I think this really sold me on buying this album when I was 13 and I consider myself a better person for doing so. BTW, the video mix for this track is different from the album version..this version IMO has more drive to it. I love putting the original in downtempo DJ sets..such a paralyzingly beautiful vibe. I'm probably bablling right now but damn this track and group are killer still to this day.
This brings back some amazing memories! Where are these guys from again? This was sometime in the mid-90s and could be seen on MTV's 120 late Sunday night. God, I used to tape that every Sunday and just play it during the week to see all the new hip stuff! Those were the days!
@Constantinesgirl they released their last album '24/7' almost a year ago on german label kompakt. it's quite nice 4/4 dark techno stuff with incredible vocals of daniel agust. they're still active although as trio and not 9 person band.
@Constantinesgirl check out their album '24/7' from the previous year. it was released on german famous label kompakt. they are still active although as trio and not anymore 9 person band like in the 90s...
saw the same tour for wmc sobe, got to meet her. seams as if music has gone backward in the last tenish years. oh thats right 8 years of bush ruined the world.
In 1997 I saw Gusgus in concert in San Francisco. If you bought their concert t-shirt, then you got the VHS of this video as a gift bonus! It was my prized possession.
Does any one know where If a cd single of the video version of this song was ever issued? The LP cut is different and I think this version is much better.
I remember there used to be another video of this song, here in youtube. The text next to it said: "saved from that rare VHS promo tape for eternity. Although come to think of it, VHS will probably outlast us all. Betamax and cockroaches..." Still need to think of that line everytime i here this intro.
i went to go see these guys play at the glass house in pomona, ca. about 10 years ago and they were fucking AMAZING! then again i was high as fuck on some good chronic at the time which more than likely helped...hehe! one of the best damn shows i ever went to....the visuals that were taking place all around them and behind them were just out of this world!
shit the ambulance is old, and this was Hafdís Huld there in it, just a teen,
she got fierd for no reason, wierd cuz she has a kick ass voice
i thought that they like that , but Danial is the king of this band and his word is finale
