Yes just do a master reset on it and it'll ask for your user name and pass or create a new account

Widgets slide over a diff screeen if you do it right, the phone comes with free updates that they offer you to download, this includes video recorder, etc. as for the battery, if you toggle the 3g setting, it lasts for much longer. And also the lag could be due to having too much shit stored onto the phone memory rather than your sd card, because my lagged when i had 6000 texts and like 50 something apps but if you clear those you should be good.

I loved how he just glosses over the fact that the widget did not slide over to a different screen as he tried numerous times.

I want the phone but all the current owner reviews highlight to many problems, seems like all of T-Mobile phones fall short of the hype.

I am ready to retire my SK LX and may have to retire T-Mobile all together.

Seems like getting a sleek, fast, smart phone is to much to ask for.

bcoz its shit. the battery is really crap, if u leave on for 2 days without charging it will die. The slide mechanism squeak and slid down, and mines only about 4 weeks old. No video recorder. The browsing ball button is already stuffed, cant roll it down. And it lags a fair bit

and the market store (like the app store) has reaallly bad and dull applications. Also what really annoys me is that the phone supports MPEG-4 and 3GP files, yet it has no video player!!

use a dab of rubbing alcohol, and put it on the tip of a qtip. then pinch down on the ball and rub on the non covered part

Can you please advice on this: I really want to buy this phone, but it needs to do some basic work-related things, mainly Outlook sync. I know GCalendar syncs with Outlook and Android syncs with GCal. In this case, my question is: can I configure G1 to trigger alerts based on its calendar (as in alarms or such) or do I still have to rely on SMS received from Google when a GCalendar event occurs? I have the HTC Touch HD. Its much better! You have a 800x480 display for Internet and I user Igo8 for Car Navigation, GPS Tuner for Geocaching jogging and bike and Core Player to watch full cinema movies!!! Really great!! With Windows Mobile you have much more possibilities!!

The screen and the theme of the G1 doesn't look as colorful as the Touch. But the as the G1 is an "open platform" makes it very interesting and how user friendly it is!

Better than the iphone if you like your phone to be hidiously ugly. Apple's iphone has nothing to worry about at this time. The G1 is a good first attempt at cracking into the advanced smart phone market, but it's definitely no iphone killer. The casing is ugly, cheaply made and the slide out qwerty keyboard isn't up to par to even current phones on the market.

The only thing I didnt like about the Iphone was how you text someone. It seems the touchpad keys were too close together. I had the t-mobile wing also and always thought it was much easier to type on a qwerty keypad...this is definately the best of both worlds, can't wait!
