I don't see much difference in shooting lead into a pond and shooting lead into the ground (rain) it both ends up in the water table eventually. Yea it may (long-shot) kill whats in that pond but as far as getting into the drinking water; should be the same as shooting into the dirt.

Wrong, My saiga has no mods to the gas tube or piston and cycles the "CHEAP WALMART AMMO" perfect. No need to machine it. The stock 1 and 2 settings work perfect

He's NOT wrong. YOU are just LUCKY. Plenty of Saiga 12 owners have trouble with this. Your gun isn't the only Saiga 12 on the planet.

Just want to clear up a few things. First of all, you may want to move forward your trigger assembly just a basic start to help cycle the low brass loads. Also a new plug or gas puc will help tremendously. Secondly, they're are three gas ports, at least on the Vodka specials. The gas block can easily be removed and the ports bored to roughly .093". Anything will cycle after this is done, and sometimes they come like this stock. My will run any load no problem, just takes a little time.

You can just change out the gas plug with a MD arms V-plug and it will fire anything you want.

not true about the cheep ammo. you just need to put enough rounds through the gun. mine has no gas work and cycles bulk pack low brass with ease. good vid

thanks for posting. i figured it would be reliable, but i don't know anyone that has one. you just sealed the deal, i'll be trading in me r.r. ar, as i got a robinson last year that i like better anyhow. the r.r. is a great, accurate as hell little rifle, though. hate to be the fish in that pond....

just an FYI, HALO mfg rail is sand cast and is an inferior product compared to the Chaos rail (which is machined out of billet) if you plan on shooting anything other than "walmart cheap junky ammo" like the stuff that puts men down in two pieces avoid the HALO at all costs. Mine upper broke through the holes for the mounting hardware.
