I like the first Dumbledore better but I think Michael Gambon got better as the movies went on. Like I think he did an awesome job in the sixth film. But enough about Dumbles, Severus Snape was amazing all the way through!

Gambon was very different from book but grew on me a lot. Now I can't imagine Richard Harris in the later movies--way too immobile and decrepit

I know. When I first saw Michael Gambon in Prisoner of Azkaban i was shocked. I didn't like him at all. I preferred Richard Harris. But later on...Like the battle in the department of ministries between Voldemort and Dumbledore and the cave in HP6...I couldn't imagine Harris doing all that. Too much action...He wouldn't be able to.

@SSBMJunky He is, yeah, much more nuanced. The way he makes the character his own is beautiful. There's nothing wrong with not sticking that much to the book character, I think, cause as much as I love the books, they are not perfect in every way, they can be worked on and that's what Gambon did. Also it has a lot to do with who's directing. Cuarón's movie was pure genius.

I like this but telling you what? i don't like Michael Gambon much. He doesn't really act what J.K Rowling described like i mean, he should be very calm but did you see harry potter and the prisoner of akaban and up? well, i would prefer the original Dumbledore :] but Michael Gambon is okay i think.
