This movie S U C KED.. and I am a big fan of madonna but the best version is the original by LIna Wertmuller. The actor in this movie is the son of the actor who played his part in the original movie Swept Away. That one is far better then this mess...
MADONNA PUSSY: At exactly 2:02 when this beautiful lady spread her legs...zoom in and do a slow motion on your dvd player...you will see perfectly her beautiful "lips".
In here, the quality of the video is low...try at home. I've done this 1.000x of times in my house.
@sdsuedehead: Honestly? I'd love to lick those Madonna lips. But changing the subject...I apreciate everything about Madonna, mainly the fact she doesn't give a shit to people opinions & mostly her inner strenght towards life in general, the struggle to get where she is today. There are sooo many videos I get horny with her: Like a Virgin, Erotica, Hollywood, Hung Up...damn, Madonna is awesome. And there's the tours performances, interviews...But Open Your Heart, no, she's too skinny.
@BrandonLori She was incredible in Evita regardless of what villa the movie critic here thinks. She was ok in Dick tracy and good in ALOTW. She should call it quits on acting though i agree with that.
This was the best scene in the entire movie. If you have seen the original...you will realize Madonna BUTCHERED this version. It deserved every pan every crtic gave it. You need to see the original! It's marvellous!!!
in my opinion, madonna is a horrible actress, but i absolutely love this film. i think it's because it is stylized so well. the directing by guy richie, the costuming by ariane phillips, and the elements of art direction in the film all add to it being asthetically pleasing. for god's sake, she is wearing versace couture in this scene...
I don't think I would go that far. She's a rather mediocre actress - save a few fortunate performances with good directors (Dick Tracy, kind of; Dangerous Game; Evita pop to mind). But honestly, she's not a bad singer really. The problem is she insists on jumping around while singing live. No one can pull that off. Anyway - people.... how could you LOVE this movie? You can say it's not that awful, but LOVE it?? At any rate, yeah, this part rocks.
when watchin Madonna in a movie try your best to forget its Madonna, shes a good actress, its just her image is so huge its hard to find roles that don't over power her own image(such as "Evita")she was portraying an equally powerful woman and this is why critics were more favorable to her, everything else she plays is so small compared to her own enormous image and this makes it difficult for the audience to remove "Madonna" from the role shes playing.
you wanna know something? I've never thought about it like that, but you may really be onto something here. She was great in "Desperately Seeking Susan", which was TOTALLY suited to her personality, but in later years its really hard to separate the singer while watching the actress. Evita was easier to swallow for exactly the reason you stated, and I believe she's really been handed some shite roles, but I think in the right part, she'd be just fine. She's gorgeous and has TONS of personality!
i watched this clip becuase joe queenan said it was the worst film ever made. fortunately i don't have the entire film but even this little bit is dreadful. madonna is so awful
I love Madonna.. she ROCKS! Who cares what all you jugemental assholes think... but your allowed your opinions... this is what makes America a great country.
I just wanted to see badness incarnate, so I looked up this movie, and it looks like I stepped into the middle of a flame war here. These things happen.
Also, only a liberal could be dumb enough to think this is anything other than rubbish :-)
This is the only SLIGHTLY bearable bit in an otherwise travesty of a movie. Madonna must have malignant narcissim to believe she could match Mariangela Melato in a role Melato totally NAILED to perfection. And Ritchie must be nuts to have believed it made any sense AT ALL to try to remake a movie that, for what it wanted to be, was pretty much completely realized.
I assure you that the original Italian "Swept Away," directed by Lina Wertmuller, is much wider known (and seen by more people) than this piece of crap.
As a conservative (ahem), you probably are allergic to foreign films.
And I assure you that the only reason the original version gets this much attention at all is because Madonna re-did it.
Evita is the precise reason Patti Lapone got so much attention after Madonna re-did it.
Madonna's contributions are debateable. But it's preposterous to think that Patti Lapone or Lina Wertmuller are even memorable enough to set a standard for an international star like Madonna. She's big enough to receive the scrutiny.
Since you admit not even knowing the original exists, I would say it's quite illogical to claim any knowledge about its popularity then, or after the Madonna version. Now THAT'S logic--that anyone of any political persuasion can recognize.
Instead of getting in forum fights over a topic you know nothing about, why not have a look at, and read about, the original version? Then you could at least claim you knew what you were talking about.
You knew and had an awareness of Madonna and her version.
I knew Swept Away had been adopted from a French Flick. Had it not been for Madonna remaking it, I wouldn't have known it. Nor had I ever heard of Lina.
Her popularity is great but hurts her as well. She will never get a role in which she can successfully transcend in such a way where we could not forget that she is "Madonna."
So, what sort of kool-aid have conservatives been drinking? They USED to be known as a party of ideas...but for the last 8 years they've specialized in stupidity.
Two points:
1) You're amusingly self-centered if you believe that, because YOU heard of the original from knowing of this version, that everyone ELSE has that order of knowledge.
2) oh, and, it's an ITALIAN film, not a French film.
First the "kool-aid" line was given birth to by Rush Limbaugh. Please come up with your own material. For the last eight years, they've specialized in refraining from punishing the successful, keeping us safe and taxes low.
Not the party of IDEAS, just the party of logic.
It's liberals who are the party of "change" bumper-sticker slogans.
1.) Not because of ME, because of MADONNA you are here to begin with. I said she was more popular. And I'm right. Do you have a point?
You should be happy to know I'm done. You're someone who just likes to argue about NOTHING, for no REASON, using no facts or analysis. There's no point to this...
I used facts and reason. You're the one who responded, then carried the topic into politics after reading my profile.
I simply offered a different opinion. You don't have to be so girlish when someone disagrees with you.
Lina will never have the popularity of Madonna and in hindsight, it's Madonna that not only escalated Lina's popularity in modern times but also escalated the awareness of the alleged quality in her performance. All of this is "reason" - you just have to learn to read.
Your stupidity can't stand, and so I have to come back for one last post: "Lina" did not give a performance in "Swept Away." As I stated in an earlier post (i.e., you didn't even have to look it up), Lina Wertmuller was the DIRECTOR, the actress playing the part that Madonna pathetically attempts to reprise was Mariangela Melato.
No one can really be as stupid as you seem, uless they suffer some sort of organic brain ailment. I suggest you schedule an appt. with your doctor.
Of course you had to come back. Your kind couldnt barely keep their word. YOU'RE RIGHT, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE ORIGINAL VERSION. That is precisely the point. But you know all about this one, dont you? Everyone in America would be more likely to know about this one because Madonna is more popular than Mariangela Babaloo-Malignanciano.
Nobody (including me) cares. The point is Madonna and this version are subject to scrutiny because people actually care about her. The others are obsolete.
You can disagree to the furthest extent on Madonna, that I couldn't care less about. You were the one who exuded a very touchy stance on disagreement turning a simple comment of dissent to an entire discussion on politics.
As I re-read your posts, the only thing I can glean is your willingness to fill post after post with your "statements of fact" about an issue you fully ADMIT you know nothing about.
Sorry, but that's a lesson I've known for a long time: everybody has an opinion--and most of the time that opinion is based on NOTHING.
Of course everyone has an opinion. As I say, we conservatives are versed on common sense. If any of this were fact, you and I wouldn't have responded to one another.
But, the FACT of Madonna's overwhelming popularity (is that an opinion?) is something I never admitted to know nothing about.
The entire basis of your being here is Madonna's performance in a movie to which I dissented out of opinion but stated the FACT that it was her popularity that brought you here. Not Lina's.
Even though this movie wasn't commercially a sucess, I really like it, it's so primitive and basic that I just love it, and this scene it's visually incredible! Madonna es definitivamente la reina del pop
the singer is Della Reese, known primarily as an actress and one of the stars of TV's "Touched By An Angel". The song was originally popularized by Rosemary Clooney (George's aunt), however this version is more "smoky" and hot.
