the thing about Hendrix wasn't that he was so good, it was that he was one of the first recognized to really play outside the box. Hendrix helped break the mold, and opened up a new world on which to play guitar
@kotkavuori thanx man ---hendrix is to this day still the most overrated axeman ever --well besides kerry king but i digress ---now everyone will jump because i jammed on hendrix ---doesnt matter ---good comment bro''
@ECLIPSEOFMYMIND1 Don't forget Dimefag, and Dave Mustaine, and Kirk and countless of guitar players who are far more overrated than and not as good as Hendrix.
@doolb666 Satriani probably taught most of them, and even he admits that he's not as good as Hendrix. In fact, Hendrix was his biggest influence. And though Steve Vai may be better than Satriani, he had to learn from Satriani. Hendrix learned on an old broom stick and didn't have a teacher; other than the Muddy Waters and Bob Dylan records he was listening to. Anything else?
This is Pete Steel -Type O Negative. I'm sure!!!!

i dont think hendrix is overrated. his guitarwork was very interesting yet grounded on basic blues.
but even so.....this is better than the original.agreed.

Better than the original. I guess this is the first time I have ever said that. But this is my honest opinion.
