Howto: Change Windows Vista Color And Appearance

I found out how to fix The change theme option when you go to Color and apearance: when you open up color and apearance scroll down to the last Window Aeros or w/e it's called and set it as that. then you can change your theme to something else and change collor

I have windows vista basic. Before i could change my colors from black to red to blue to what ever. Then when i tried to change them a new window apeared much like the windows xp one. I knew i had to be on windows vista standard however it was not there just windows vista. I fixed this problem by going to the update center and insalling all of the updates. Now it is fixed! Thumbs up if this worked

I don't get it.. People say all over "You cannot get this on Windows Vista Home Basic" but I had this EXACTLY on my Windows Vista Home Basic, It would literally be on, I remember changing my color to blue or dark blue hues all the time but now that shit doesn't even work or show..I did it Recently like last week, now I look up on my PC and it's gone..For some odd reason anyone know why? All it shows under "Window Color and Personalization" now all it shows is Windows Vista Basic and Classic -_-"

i got it, when it opens windows color and appearnce and it opens the thing where theres a list of things to chose from( like Windows Aero, Windows vista basic. bla bla bla) Chose windows Aero then save it then open the thing again and u get this. worked for me

I searched up How to change apperance settings to colors on vista. I have the same problem of you guys, but I searched it up on google. Heres what you do to get back to the colors. Go to your desktop - Personalize. Click Window color and Apperance. That little box should come up, switch to vista Aero, the first one. Then go back to your desktop, personalize, and the colors should be back! Hope this helped!

all of you who are getting a different windows here is the fix:

you have to first change your theme to areo by pulling it up and going to the drop down window.then follow the tutorial.

this "Areo" feature wont always work.here are some TIPS:

1) you first must hav the correct graphic divers and or a new graphics card.

2) then,make sure you hav the latest version of directx installed.

3) then,make sure you hav installed ALL available updates for your windows operating system.

4) this will only work on windows vista and 7.

I know how to change it. First try to change the resolution or reset it. If you have a NVIDIA driver simply right click on the desktop and reset the resolution. Then your problem should be fixed. Good luck! :3

go to control panel, click appearance and personalization, then click on change the theme. Theme settings will come up, and under theme there are some options. Choose windows vista.

To add on, the below method depends on whether or not your Vista version and hardware support the Aero interface and transparency.

PS: for me i was stuck with the damn appearance settings for a week cause i clicked on the window vista basic colour scheme. so just change it to aero and u have it(:

The solution:

Under the classic appearance setting that you are now stuck with,

Notice under colour scheme you have Windows Aero, Widow vista basic, Windows standard n classic etc...

Click on Windows Aero and NOT Window vista basic.

Once applied you should be able to

choose your colors, set the transparency level and fine tune your choices with the color mixer controls(:

i think i got the solution you need to update your graphic driver or go out of everything that maybe be using the graphics cards like games then try again if that doesnt fix it i dont know whats wrong with it
