Only the reunification with following funding problems and missing political reasons stopped the adoption of a rifle, 10 times more expensive than every known assault rifle. He also wrote that every bullet from the 50 round magazine could be shot in full auto mode to a human sized target which was at about 100m distance without re-targeting(!), it means the full auto mode was very stable.

The inner mechanism is very dirty after shooting a few thousand rounds but despite this(!), it was found to be a very reliable weapon.

The Bundeswehr nearly ordered 1 million pieces from G11!

@cyberslick18 They developed new ammuniton. the ammo shown in this video is the patched one. The first type of ammo looked very different and had cock off problems. The G11K2 (last version) used the worked out ammo. The Program was canceled because of lack of funding after the german reunification and missing political reason to adopt such an expensive rifle after the fall of the warsaw pact. It was NOT canceled because of technical problems! About 1000 G11K2 were given to the bundeswehr before.

the H&K G11 fires caseless ammo. Therefore meaning that the extraction of a shell is not needed. This means that the gun doesn't have to eject an empty shell after it fires a round. This up its rpm and usually a G11 can fire a 3 round burst so that it sounds like a single shot.

When fully automatic it is at 400-600rpm.

When 3 shot burst 2700rpm.

Don't ask me I looked it up.
