Freezing the bananas works really well instead of adding ice cubes. Freezing old bananas works really well too because the sugars have developed and I personally don't think they taste good, but work perfectly in smoothies when frozen.
@heathspawn I'm not into frozen bananas, but luckily there's a fruit vendor right around the corner so I can always get fresh ones. Glad you've got a system that works for you though!
