I don't think it's sitting too low in the mix. I know what you mean but I think if the Hang was more dominant, the piece may drone on. Personally, I think the mix is perfect. Top class.

I will give my opinion about. This hang seems to me a sacred instrument. It should not be melted with anything or trying thousand of thousand expériences.

Just an observation, the hangdrum sits too low in the mix, it is nothing more than filler. If it is designed to showcase Dante's abilities, unfortunately it is lost, the guitar is by far the lead instrument.

@lollygaggle Thanks - this is a good observation and I fixed the mix after posting the video. Look for a free MP3 soon... next time you can just mute the video and hit play on the mp3 instead :)

@lollygaggle I question why it matters whether the guitar/ hang leads? It sounds good as a whole and surely that's what matters most? You can most definitely hear the hang and it sounds lovely in the mix :)

@qdqshred I have clearly stated that it is just an observation, however, as the hangdrum is billed as 'the' featured artist, in other words dante is the lead musician, I find it the equivalent of purchasing an album of Tony Bennett only to find he is just a backing singer.

Unless Mr Bucci is simply one musical voice in a band, then as he warrants a greater level of exposure & this is not apparent in the finished article.

this is superb! the sound of the hang doesn't get old! do you know if felix and sabina are still making them? I wanted to get one a couple of years ago but couldn't afford it... would like to try again though, just don't know where to go or who to ask!

@tamomarley Felix and Sabina are still making them, as far as I know - but they have a very specific vision for the Hang which does not focus on musical notes. If you want a musical instrument, it is best to contact one of the other hand-pan makers. See the description for some other similar instruments.

@kingovviking From what I gather, Felix and Sabina are focusing on a tool for meditation and not a musical instrument. They now tune to whatever frequencies resonate best with each individual hang.
