  • i ordered one but it's on back order :(

musiciansfriend, y u no keep this in stock???

  • @ironwolg uh..we got em! :)

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos how much do you guys have them for? i caught musiciansfriend on a sale and got it for $150

  • NO PRESETS? id be tap dancing the whole time

  • @jepoy0891 The absence of presets has nothing to do with tap dancing... Maybe you'll have to stoop more often in order to change the settings.

  • Damn .. I had the opportunity to try this delay at a friends place yesterday ... even though I just bought the Mxr Carbon copy .. this is my next pedal purchase ... THIS THING ROCKS !!!

  • This pedal's amazing.

    1 problem.

    No presets.

  • the section at 3:30 sounded familiar anyone know what it is?

  • This has waaaaaaay better modulation than the nova delay.

  • 13 folks that can't rock ..

  • The Nova repeater is a fine pedal easy to use a abit warmer sounding delay, The Flashback is more transparent.......and a bit more road worthy......I use them both

  • I agree Andy is best demo maker in the whole youtube/interent reviews.

  • there should be a pedal review on a Line 6 DL4. That thing is reliable and sounds good.

  • one of best pedals i've ever heard

  • is this better than the nova delay?

and is this better than the mxr carbon copy?

  • @adrianovanta Better than the carbon copy simply because of the tap and the ability to layer several delay sounds. I got it and it's the best delay I've tried for the price.

  • Wow what overdrive are using in 3:53?

  • Hey Andy could you please do a new and improved updated demo of the nova delay? And maybe a shootout with the delay and repeater?

  • Another great demo from Andy, nice work :)

  • i want one...

  • I have it...

    ohhhhh.... very cool .. Delay

  • Another question: should I go for the repeater or the new Flashback Delay? Did anyone compare them? Thanks!

  • well...I know its good enough for Trey...and from what I hear and see, feature and price wise..it sure as hell is good enough for ME!

Bravo Senor Andy....you make my workday go that much faster!!!

  • what does the fx level do?

  • hi Andy, watch your demos all the time. great stuff> YOU should do the demo with some distortion> alot of people use dealy with there lead distortion sound> just a thought> thank you for the vids> they are a big help< leon

  • How does this compare to the new flashback delay? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

  • @VlastaStevanovich Same Question...

  • Hey Andy Very cool review !.

  • Does it work with a 9V pedal chain?

  • This video helped me make up my mind. Nova it is!

  • The analog and tape modes sound more authentic than on the Nova. I want to try the New TC Electronic Flashback Delay

  • Between the DD7 and this, which one would you recommend?

  • ah radiohead <3 i love you andy

  • Im a newbie as far as delay pedals go, but i've read me up and tested some different pedals at my local guitar store and finally I went with this one. I'm really satisfied with both tone and functions but I realized that I've got no clue how to, or even if its possible to connect it to my pedal power 2(voodoo lab, off course).

    Help ?

  • Can someone please tell me what the main differences are between the TC electronics nova repeater and the nova delay? Is the repeater just a simpler model of the delay?

  • @ALTO916 they're completely different from each other. the repeater will give you more control over the sound (dedicated modulation, tone knobs, dedicated digital, analog and tape settings). in my opinion you can get a more convincing analog or tape sound of the repeater than the Nova Delay. the N. Delay doesn't have those, but it has 9 presets and a display screen that shows the m/s of your delay. if you want a straight digital delay with stage options, go for that, but i prefer the repeater

  • I'm stuck between this, a Vox Time Machine and a Deluxe Memory Boy. Any thoughts? :)

  • @bluepingu345 Nova Repeater, all the way. The best value out of all of them. You can find them on ebay for $125 shipped.

  • @bluepingu345 Deluxe Memory Boy. U get alot of options with it, but the memory boy is only analog. Vox time machine looks kinda cool, but not alot of options compared to deluxe. It depends what u want. Memory is analog only, Vox is digital and maybe a little analog since it has the vintage mode.

  • @bluepingu345 i realize you wrote this over a year ago but did you ever figure out which pedal you wanted? i am stuck between this and the memory man.

  • There Goes The Fear - Doves :)

  • This or the Boss DD-7? I'm thinking this!

  • I think this sounds better than the Nova Delay, and that's almost 100 bucks more. How realistic is the tape setting?

  • what is the difference between the nova delay and the nova repeater?

  • that's a lot of knobs, buttons, and doo-dads for $150!

  • Haha getting 1 shipped out of the US for slightly more than 150USD

  • Do you have to reset all the settings everytime it's powered on or will it remember the last setting before it was turned off?

  • whats the point of an FX loop in an amp?

  • @modnarm if you're using your amp's natural overdrive, delay, reverb, and modulation effects can be difficult to control, because an overdriven preamp tube has natural compression to it. as a result, it sounds mushy. an FX loop lets you put your pedals in between the preamp and power amp. if you're playing clean, or getting all your distortion from a pedal, it has no use, but if you're getting amp overdrive, it's pretty helpful, but not a necessity.

  • 1:41 Can you make that setting a DD3 or DD7? if possible can someone please tell me how to do it because I really want that delude the sound

  • @humantorch1993 sit with your metronome and try adjusting your delay time until you reach your dotted eighth

  • sometimes you sulk sometimes you burn

  • I really like this delay pedal....probably the best I've ever owned. I do run into a problem at times though....maybe some of you guys could help. I like to use the tap tempo to dial in the bpm for songs. It works great for songs 100 bpm+, but for songs 90 and below in bpm, it gets off track bad. I mean, I'm sure as a human I tap the tempo in slightly off, but I have sat with my drummer and my metronome and still it eventually gets off beat. Any help?

  • is this pedal true bypass..? i suspect that it isn't...?

  • any dirt pedals before the repeater? love the distorted sounds

  • Whats that song you play multiple times starting at 1:25?

  • Other than presets and delay time, the Nova Delay has a 'colour' dial, which chooses between tape, analogue and digital tones. Does the tone knob on this do a similar thing? or is it a brightness dial like most tone knobs?

Keep up the work lads, you guys are easily responsible for most the GAS out there...

  • maybe I am doing something wrong? I run this into my FX loop. Using the amp distortion, then swtich the the FX loop on, the pedal seems to thin out the sound. Is there a fix to that?

  • @bcomiskey23 some amps have an actual effects loop volume control. i am a gearhead and it took me and another guitarist 20 mins trying to setup a gnx4 to his marshall head to figure out all the volume issues. take some time, fiddle with levels on the pedals. im still not sold on using effects loop all the time

  • Doves!

  • i love this pedal so much. best delay pedal i've ever played through. period.

i don't mind no presets, because it's just so stupid simple!!! not to mention, it sounds much better than the more expensive Nova Delay

  • @41224jason Agreed. The Nova Delay sounded great but was way too complicated for a stompbox. I'm glad they didn't give up on the concept and tried again.

  • Radiohead!!

  • so is this like the nova delay with out the screen

  • @beeyonson and without preset, but to me the nova delay sound a bit more "cold" then this.

  • sounds great!

  • What song is he playing at 1:20??

  • Whats the song in the begining??

  • @Chizunin The Doves - There Goes the Fear, I think.

  • So, I'm going to be 'that guy' on this video and ask what song Andy is playing first?

  • Which song Andy plays when he demos the divisions?

  • So, all in all is this a good pedal for a dedicated David Gilmour fan?

  • i've had one since christmas, and i couldn't be more satisfied. with the exception of lacking presets, it's absolutely perfect. and in almost every way i think way better than its bigger brother, the Nova Delay

  • Good god!!!! What more could you ask for!?!?!?!? SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!! Made by TC, first of all, has the best settings you can ask for, awesome features, perfect sound, and the price is just right!!!!!! I'm getting this ASAP!!!!

  • How long are the delays? is this better than the DD-20? persuade me either way

  • @posiedonpowertrio

DD-20 has a couple more features....but for the money and quality, i say this cause its a professional well trusted company and the features and quality of this pedal are just amazing!!!

  • what's the difference between this one and the Nova Delay?

  • I have one of these and they are bad ass. I have tried many delays over the years but this one is a keeper. Never have I been so motivated to create new sounds.

    Get one!!

  • I heard that this thing has a lot of hum. Is this true? And if it is, is there a way to fix that?

  • The Doves in a demo! This company just earned my business. Way to earn your corn Andy.

  • @hreth1 My thoughts exactly. :)

  • do you need a ac adaptor for this pedal

  • @davetube2: Yes. The pedal comes shipped with a 12V wall wart.

  • how do power this thing

    do you need ac adaptor

  • Holy shit were you playing Doves Andy? Never thought I'd hear that here. Nicely done.

  • so if its not true BP than does that mean it slightly alters your tone? what if u just have a couple pedals, im sure it isnt noticeable...?

  • @44eelz

it really doesn't make a huge difference. I play through 4 pedals, none of which have true bypass, and i've had no problems.

  • this is not true bypass

  • Damn this pedal sounds good. Im buying this!

  • So I've been reading through the comments, and still don't know if this is true bypass or not. One answer said it was, and one said it wasn't. So what is it?

  • I thought all tc electronic pedals are true bypass?

  • But doesn't the spillover function ruin that? It can't be true bypass when that's enabled.

  • @VilhelmNielsen

you can turn spillover off though.

  • @JIMMYJIBLETS

Yeah, but it would have to switch to a different circuit, though. I kinda doubt that.

  • @radioactiveparadise

It doesn't have True Bypass. But it has a brilliant transparent Buffer!

  • @radioactiveparadise

yes it is true bypass. pretty much all TC products are. they're very high quality.

  • Is not true bypass but it has good buffer chip

  • I love how musical this pedal is! Thanks for this great demo! : )

  • Sounds perfect... I´m going to buy this :)

  • Playing a strat?

  • nice radiohead @ 2.37

  • Andy is awesome and making these things sing. He is absolutley one of the best demo makers out there! Period..

  • DOVES AT THE START!

  • Does that Kill Dry button add a DB boost for use in effect loops?

  • Comment removed

  • It's pretty self explanatory. Hold the button and send the pedal something it can count like a pluck or strum and it locks to the tempo.

  • ok thanks

  • @ProGuitarShopDemos hey Andy, whats that riff in the beginning? just messin around or an actually song..i wanna steal it ;)

  • is dis true bypass

  • Hey, just wondering if this can self-oscillate.

    Thanks!

  • well, i've checked pretty much every demo, and read about it everywhere, and no, i dont think it self oscillates, and usually most digital delays dont self oscillate, except for the subdecay echobox which is digital and self-oscillates

  • The best digital delay stombox on the market.

  • How much is this pedal?

    please respond D:

  • 169 USD.

  • I wasn't expecting it to sound so spacious! I thought, oh it's a cheap digital dealy, it's gonna suck. I was wrong. This is my next delay probably.

  • what OD do you use when showing the dynamic delay??

  • Sulk :D

  • cool

  • andy thank u for this great review... i want one asap i sold my hazarai to get this or the mem boy. but i think i want this one.

  • Sulk Radiohead :)

  • Haha. You played "There Goes the Fear" from Doves. Nice.

  • dude those are some AMAZING fucking riffs at 1:25 to 2:22

    nice job!

  • What is it with this delay rage????

Does it mean that when we use the tap tempo, it will be limited in a choosen range?

    Thanks...

  • Yes it's limited, but what it means is that you can a delay time from say... .1 second to 3 seconds. If you tapped a 5 second delay it would set it to three.

  • Thanks dude...

    :)

  • Using the pot you can get 1200 ms... using the tap tempo switch or audiotapping you get 2290 ms.

  • anybody know if this thing can run on a Pedal power 2+ or do we have to use the adapter that comes with it?

  • im wondering the same thing...

  • uses 9-13 volts so yes.

  • I mean 9-12 volts

  • can you make feedback noises with this?

  • not sure but if you could i'm pretty sure andy would've shown it...

  • it sounds like one of those rare delay pedals that can actually make you feel queasy; particularly like the Space Echo.

  • Nice sounding box.

  • FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

  • doves - there goes the fear! not bad!

  • Amazing... the manufacturers are getting it right after all this time.... and after false promises of the past ... THIS is what we've been waiting for. excellent...!!!

  • andy is this trube byapss? and what guitar and amp were u using this time?

  • All TC electronic is tb. Sounds like a Strat, he's been plzying through a deluxe reverb lately. Anyone else notice the demos are getting shorter and shorter? I liked the old 10min ones where they explore every possible setting. I also think they need to demo every pedal they have in stock. I know it sounds like a lot of work, Andy, but are you willing?

  • i doubt this is true bypass, being stereo in and out, but it'd be typical of TC to be cutting edge and use a relay. perhaps when the spillover is off it can be true bypassed.

don't get caught up with bypass anyway - this is TC Electronic here, they do top-quality buffers, which is farrrr better than true bypass.

  • Sulk! Great song choice.

  • does somebody know what the song is called in the background from 0:45 to 1:20 ?

  • The thing played from 2:00 to 2:20 simply just sounds amazing - is it from some kind of song or just impro? Anyone know? :)

    And btw very nice pedal!

  • What difference in features is there between the Nova Delay and the Nova Repeater? The Repeater is cheaper, but what's the real difference between the two? :)

  • no presets, no color knob (but same features), ability to kill dry and spillover, delay range instead of bpm/msec LED, FX level instead of mix, vibrato mod delay

  • how is that pedal different from the nova delay??

  • No preset-function.

  • Thats the whole point, to be a plug and play "no-frills" version of the Nova Delay. If you want presets then the Nova Delay is more suitable for you because its basically the same sound, but with presets.

  • FINALLY this channel became a youtube partner!

  • Why are you so excited about it?

  • very "edgy"

  • the DL4 more functional, WHAT YOU SAY? !!!

  • Andy, you give the products a great demonstration. Thanks

  • Nice. Love the Doves riff.

  • That dotted eighth part really sounded awesome. Looks like this may replace my stereo memory man...

  • Doves!!

  • when watching this video in low quality it looks like the studio LED says stupid. Hahahaha! I love my TC nova delay. I wonder what the price difference is.... it looks like the major difference between the two is you cant do exact delay times on this one.

  • Howmuch is this?

  • $169

  • Exactly what I wanted!! Must cost too much for my blood though, looks like it would be pricey :(

  • According to Harmony Central it will be about $149 USD.

  • That's actually not too bad.

  • wow thts chepaer than i expected :|

  • Radiohead- Sulk, nice tone from that

  • awsome pedal!

  • The digital delay sounds and the general features are excellent. The analog simulations, hmmm... not really... although they can sit better in a busy mix. Andy is giving an excellent demonstration, as always, but I'm not convinced by the analog sounds. I would buy a different pedal for that.

  • sick pedal, nice demo.
