@AliAbdurRasheed I literally only quoted a Sahih hadith, but for some reason this is considered "arguing"? I'm sorry if the hadith makes you uncomfortable, but this is what our beloved Prophet prophesied. And, judging by the comments, it has come true.
There is a strong position in the Shafi'i school allowing certain wind instruments.
It is easy to throw hadith around, but it is not easy to understand and appreciate the context behind them.
Please do not insult our great Shuyookh. Habib Umar bin Hafiz is a direct descendant of our Beloved from Tarim Yemen.
Prophet Muhammad (s) praised Sham and Yemen in the end of time which continues to draw nearer. (See Bukhari, book 17, hadith 147). May Allah preserve Habib Umar and all of our shuyookh
