@Garnetandzidane It could only proceed one way; any and all audience members would rip their shirts some, then engage in epic Dragonball Z style fights.
@SolBadguy314 Hey, another Jago/ Cinder fan! Whatever Cinder couldn't f+f+p or f+d+df+k whenever it approached could be combod to death by Jago's sword!
I broke an N64 controller over this game. An N64 controller. One of the most durable peices of handheld equipment one could possibly posess, and I smashed the crap out of it.
Note to self: never play fighting games EVER AGAIN.
Dude! You're my friggin hero! I can't believe you have Killer Instinct music on here! I remember buying that game that came with the free soundtrack and I played the crap out of that CD...until it was stolen *cries* I LOVE IT!! I LOVE YOU!!! XD
I still rape face in this game. I play the snes version and can still throw out 23 hit combos on the regular, without doing the ultra til the end of course. Thank you emulators and bad ass 90's gaming!
Yeah, it's a fighting game, probably one of the best fighting games of the 90's era, period.
It was, and still is an extremely popular series, there are still arcade machines of it and the games still sell, albeit only at places like Amazon and Ebay but they are extremely high-in-demand cause this game was just kick ass.
I remember when I had my SNES/64 versions, I played them all day. :O
Extremely popular? I've never even heard of it sadly. :( I can't say I played ones that were super awesome, just SoulCalibur II and Battle Arena Toshiden. The acting for BAT was pretty bad, and all the extra characters for SCII like Link, Heihachi and Spawn depending on the system and the Star Wars characters for 4 was really weird. I don't even want 4 because of that.
Killer Instinct was one of the more popular fighting games in the 90's, along with Street Fighter and Tekken, it has its own large fanbase and many people wanting a sequel to 2.
I, myself was a huge fan of KI... it just had what other fighting games lacked... and Soulcalibur II and BAT were pretty good as well, Ehrgiez... I've not played that either, so can't say. :)
oh shit this brings back memories!!!! Used to love the playing with the frozen guy and the skeleton.. The definately need a remake for the next gen consoles.
I was wondering if you'd ever put this song up. So many childhood memories come back when I hear this.
This was the first game I ever played, and I loved it. My brothers use to take me to the Arcade to play it there before they bought it for SNES. Jago and Glacius were my mains, and I still remember all the combos to this day. Thanks Supra. I think its time I call my brothers for a "reunion" now. :D
The problem with a modern version of this game is that RARE will most likely develop it, and honestly, has anything good come out of RARE in the past 5-7 years? I can't think of anything, and anything that might exist is easily overshadowed by the tons of crap they tried to 'revive'.
@pelletier1986 Yes, they were both made by Rare, and came out around the same time. This was a hella good fighting game too. Spawned the fast combos that are in just about every fighting game now.
Jago, Thunder, and Fulgore were my ppl. Kicked much ass with them. Makes me sad to think this game died out. It deserves a revival. Hell, it DEMANDS a revival!!!
Never got the chance of playing KI in any console, but still looking for it... specially now after listening such a great composition. Thanks for the update Supra, keep up the good work!!
@morgansss: It's Killer Cuts, the audio CD bundled with the first print of the SNES conversione of Killer Istict. I still own it, with is wonderful black cartridge.
Great conversion and great game. Killer Instinct was the only european fighting game series that had worldwide success. It needs a sequel. I wonder if nowday rare it's still capable of such awensomness... I miss '90s rare :(
I remember playing this game at my grandmother`s a lot with my cousins. I always used Spinal (the skeleton right? I just can't remember anymore) and I'd spam his all out charge attack. My cousins had no idea how to counter it and I'd always win haha. Good times.
since Microsoft owns the rights to this franchise they need to get Rare or some well known fighting game developer to make it, this was my personal favorite fighting game from back in the day, it combined the best aspects of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, had a sweet combo system, tons of moves, and excellent graphics for its time.
I unfortunately missed this series and was five-years-old when the first game came out. Luckily, a video game rental store sold it to me for five dollars in 2007. I was one happy camper that night. I really wish Rare would return to their former glory. I loved Banjo Kazooie and DKC series the most.
A game that not only had revolutionary graphics and gameplay, the music was something out of this world, to think that something like this went into a SNES game is mind blowing.
I went with the KI Cuts album version since it really sounds the best. I was a big fan of this series, I had the SNES, Gameboy and 64 versions. My favorite characters were Glacius and Spinal. I'm not sure if it will ever be possible, but I hope KI gets revived someday!
@SupraDarky I know a lot of people who loved this game, including myself. So, it better get revived,\. Nintendo isn't very good at the serious stuff at the moment, but who knows.
I absolutely love the keyboard work in this track.
@SupraDarky Rare is always hinting and taunting that KI3 might be in the works. There are a few references in Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. (crosses fingers)
@SupraDarky if they do plan on it, it'll have to be sometime soon, before demographics stop wanting nostalgia, otherwise it's not gonna happen for another 11 years.
