Yeah, it's a fighting game, probably one of the best fighting games of the 90's era, period.

It was, and still is an extremely popular series, there are still arcade machines of it and the games still sell, albeit only at places like Amazon and Ebay but they are extremely high-in-demand cause this game was just kick ass.

I remember when I had my SNES/64 versions, I played them all day. :O

Extremely popular? I've never even heard of it sadly. :( I can't say I played ones that were super awesome, just SoulCalibur II and Battle Arena Toshiden. The acting for BAT was pretty bad, and all the extra characters for SCII like Link, Heihachi and Spawn depending on the system and the Star Wars characters for 4 was really weird. I don't even want 4 because of that.

Ehrgiez looks interesting though. LOL. Square Soft fighting game. :D

Killer Instinct was one of the more popular fighting games in the 90's, along with Street Fighter and Tekken, it has its own large fanbase and many people wanting a sequel to 2.

I, myself was a huge fan of KI... it just had what other fighting games lacked... and Soulcalibur II and BAT were pretty good as well, Ehrgiez... I've not played that either, so can't say. :)

I was wondering if you'd ever put this song up. So many childhood memories come back when I hear this.

This was the first game I ever played, and I loved it. My brothers use to take me to the Arcade to play it there before they bought it for SNES. Jago and Glacius were my mains, and I still remember all the combos to this day. Thanks Supra. I think its time I call my brothers for a "reunion" now. :D

The problem with a modern version of this game is that RARE will most likely develop it, and honestly, has anything good come out of RARE in the past 5-7 years? I can't think of anything, and anything that might exist is easily overshadowed by the tons of crap they tried to 'revive'.

Great conversion and great game. Killer Instinct was the only european fighting game series that had worldwide success. It needs a sequel. I wonder if nowday rare it's still capable of such awensomness... I miss '90s rare :(

since Microsoft owns the rights to this franchise they need to get Rare or some well known fighting game developer to make it, this was my personal favorite fighting game from back in the day, it combined the best aspects of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, had a sweet combo system, tons of moves, and excellent graphics for its time.

I unfortunately missed this series and was five-years-old when the first game came out. Luckily, a video game rental store sold it to me for five dollars in 2007. I was one happy camper that night. I really wish Rare would return to their former glory. I loved Banjo Kazooie and DKC series the most.

I went with the KI Cuts album version since it really sounds the best. I was a big fan of this series, I had the SNES, Gameboy and 64 versions. My favorite characters were Glacius and Spinal. I'm not sure if it will ever be possible, but I hope KI gets revived someday!
