The Highway one single coil upgraded strats with Nitro daphne blue color from July-2006 to December- 31- 2007 are Rare. Only 1500 were made in Nitro daphne blue color during the dates shown. Today there sell for $1,200 and more stock. Dont change a thing.
I have a Rare 2007 nitro daphne blue single coil highway one strat. Fender only made 1500 for the up graded versions strats in nitro daphne blue. Color was discontinued 12-31-2007.
I'm in a problem, I've got a highway one, playing through my buddies Line 6 Spider IV that he loaned me. it sounds good, but not like a fender. it hasn't got any twang or quack that the fender has. Anyone else who has this combo, can you please tell me if it is the amp (seeing as it is digital) or if it is something I'm doing wrong (I'm used to using valve amps, I'm useless with all of the digital effects)
@mexicanslash1 regardless of what you play it doesn't matter if its a fender or gibson or single coil or humbucker. i play punk with a strat, i'm just cautious about what kind of strat i get because a super bright one doesn't sound so great with gain. point being, you don't have to play "harder" stuff on a gibby.
Hey man, I love your sound and playing, not to mention the Fender. It's always a great guitar to have around! Would you recommend buying the Laney LX35, I would use it mostly for live performances, is it any good for that purpose?
Wauw i really like this sound, when i get money enough i will buy one like urs, maybe black, but same model. You sound kinda like sting when he is playing message in a bottle solo, which is not bad :D
@mexicanslash1 they both are amazing but its depends on your style of music and think about the fender have floyd and the gibson only tune o matic wherever there are too amany features that infludes in the sound
sorry for my english I dont speak this very good greetings ! :D
@mexicanslash1 what music do you like to play dude? if your into heavier stuff like metal, hardcore, or punk anything that is played with a more distorted tone you'd be better with a gibson. anything with a cleaner tone sounds better on a fender. genres like blues, country, classic rock, or soft rock. That isn't to say you can't make metal sound good on a fender, or blues on a gibson, its just a general rule of thumb. Test both at a music store and whichever feels best to you will work just fine
A luthier friend of mine pointed out, that even among the lower priced guitars, and Fenders are no exception, if you cherry pick you can find some exceptional guitars, based on the woods used, etc. Then it's in the setup. In other words the killer MIM strat that sounds good to you once you get it where it needs to be, if the guitar screams "this is my guitar", buy it and save your money as opposed to buying the higher end one you don't like as much but has the better PR.
the ALNICO III pick up's in the highway one strat are simply fantastic. very versatile pick up. its not bright its a perfect pick up for just about any style of playing i think there one of the best pick ups out today hands down.
i need your help. i bought a white fender stratocaster highway one guitar today but i have been looking everywhere for a WHITE highway one and i just cant find one. i bought it from a proper shop (its called dawsons if you want to know) and im just worried that i dont have a genuine fender.
never seen or heard of a white hw1 strat. Nearest to white is blonde, can it be that? If not, has it the big 70 headstock like the new series hw1? If yes it also can be a white mex 70 strat. If not, it is no new hw1 stat. What serial nr. does it have? Does it have a satin finish or a glossy one (then no highway)?
Regards from gernany! PS: Best speak with the shop....
i dont know anything about the 09's but it would be a safe bet yes they can. the 07's are what fender players are looking for i'm lucky to have 3 of them if you come across a highway one sss 2007 strat GRAB IT AND DONT LOOK BACK
bare knuckle also do some loud PAF pickups called the TRiogy suite, personal preference thou id always say, go to a music store and hold a few, see which feels good for you
but if your asking are telicasters any good the mexicans ones?
well i dont know about the telecaster but i will say this, ive heard that if your on a budget of under 500 pounds, and you want the best for the money you have then a mexican strat is the way to go because of how the body is made more solid and complete so id think that would go for the telecaster to mexican made.
you can always tell if tis mexican by the serial being MZ or MN on neck
you cant go wrong with either one, its all personal preference. However, both american strats/ teles are always great guitars, likewise with mexican guitars. Go into a guitarcenter and try out as many strats and teles as you can, thats how you figure out wat to get. I recomend the highway 1 because its only 700 and its american and has great pickups, but its all personal preference, like you can hear as many as you want, then when you play it find out you like the other guitar better, go try one
well i have a fender standard mexi and im getting a highway one strat,, let me tell you , you cant go wrong either way but i think you should get the higway cause later down the road you will want an american nd will kick yourself in the ass over it
the 2007 highway one sss strats are the most sought after strats on the market. a 2007 daphne blue highway one sss strat just sold through a private owner for $2,000.
they will become a classic. the 2007 sss models are highly sought after. and like i said a 2007 daphne blue sss sold for $2,000. players want these strats because there the real deal. back in the 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's the fender strat didnt have the bullshit S-1 switch or rolled fret boards shit that most players can care less about. they were straight up balls to the wall strats just like the highway one sss strats. and there very tone versatile. the highway one is superior over the AMSTD.
damn a daphne blue hwy 1 strat sold for two grand? shoot if i has known that they were gonna be that valuable, i would have taken better care of mine. i beat it to shit.
In my video response I'm using my Highway One HSS with mesa triple rec. By the way for you people that don't know the hss is equipped with the Seymour Duncan Atomic Humbucker and Alnico III single coils. I love this guitar.
Nothing beats the range of tones a strat can play. Definitely going to fill my house with Fender Strats. First one is going to be Highway One(trip. singles) then USA models. Oh yeah, lol nice vid....sorry.
Alldini alot can attribute to the tuning problems, it can start by how you load the strings, to how you tune it. most people don't realize to get over the tuning hump with new strings, you have to stretch each string at least 3 times. Another thing is.. the tuning heads. LSR nut, get 1
the highway one has very good tuning heads the fender pings the tune fast and stay in tune a lot better than the vintage tuners. you also find the pings on other MIA's also.
Yup the highway one strats are great. Too bad they are no longer made, they have been replaced by the "road worn" strats now and no longer made in USA. The road worn strats are sold much higher though.
I have the same color and same pickup config as you, but with a rosewood board. Only mod I did to it is replace the stock pickups with a set of fender custom shop 69. Man, it made my highway strat sound like a hendrix strat.
I just purchased my 2009 Hwy strat HSS last week at guitar center. they list at 900 got mine for $640.00 out the door. They are better then the first one that came out a few years ago. upgraded pickups.
i have a big problem , i bought a fender stratocaster highway one and i have real problems with tuning ! i cant do bends or use the whammy bar ! is every highway one like this?
im about to get a HW is it a great guitar? i dont want to spend the money and it suck...do u have any complaints?...how long have u been playing...what would u rate it?
If you like Fender sound, you won't be disappointed. If you looking for something like "Eddie's" sound I would not suggest buying a Fender. I suppose you are an Eddiefan ...:-)
k, i was kind of thinking of buying a highway one instead of buying the american standard to save money, is there even a big difference in quality or sound?
absolutely, I was reading a pile on the highway one and was pumped to try it out, I went to guitar world and played it then put it down and picked up and american standard and it was night and day, the standard just felt amazing compared to the highway one, if you like the idea behing the alnico pickups with greasebucket tone control circuit you can always do that to an american. but the feel is night and day different
i know they went on sale last week. its a damm shame there being discontinued.
the highway one sss was the best production strat made. it dusted the new american standards. oh well i have 3 2007's highway one sss so i have mine.but its still a damm shame.
I have a highway one, don't know if is the upgrade or not. has the matte sunburst paint, rosewood neck and all single coil pickups. Has "original contour body", the old skinny head (i think like the ones in the 60's) and has a pretty standard looking bridge (no locking nuts or anything). It would be great if you know if it is a highway one or if it is the upgrade or not and if they are still sold ( bought mine in late 2005). thanks anyway.
if you have the reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup then it is...switch ur pickup selector to 2 and 4 if theres a noticeable difference in hum then it is
yeah, it has a massive difference, not only in hum but also has less treble when mixing between middle and bridge. however mine is different to the one in the vid, it has rosewood frettboard and the slender less bulbous head stock. did this guitar come with many options ( it was bought for my birthday, but my music teacher want's one with the rosewood fret board+ slender head. i don't know if it will be easy to find)?
i would think now they are getting harder to find but im sure you could still find one...maybe not get the color that you want but at least you'd have one ; )
yeah thanks. i love mine, and it is even more verstile than a regular strat, you gan get good sounds for satriani, santana, guns and roses, jimmy hendrix and practically everything else ( is good cos a lot of older songs did not mix pickups, so you can still get the traditional strat tone). when u use the reverse pickup u get a great beefy sound.... i love it. oh yeah and my guitar teacher is jealous.
yeah, i forget sometimes. I just write whatever comes in to my head at the time. Good to hear you respect one of if not the best guitarist of all time. :)
yeah dude thats van halen... and once you get a little older you'll realize it's not about squeezing as many note in as small a space as possible, but it's about making good music.
What Song are you playing? Your proving that its not just the type of guitar...but style and tone of the individual.... New pick-ups in guitar..curious... HSS or Standard Highway One
i have your exact guitar and let me tell everyone out there this is a great guitar for a great price.oh and but i dont play on clean i make my sound lean and mean and dirty!>=)
Hey I hate strats (and i have for the longest time), but they are now growing on me. I hate a question for you though, Why does it have two tone knobs?
I've got the one and MY opinion is that the 2007 model is that it's very good and can very easy compare and come together with the standar! But it's only my opinion
the highway one has much better tone versatility and sustain than the new american standard. also if you have the highway one in daphne blue with maple figer board hold on to it there no longer avalable.
I owned an H1 and now have a Standard. Aside from price, the two functional differences are Mexican-strat electronics and jumbo (or bigger) frets on the H1. Jumbo frets seem like a really cool idea, but I could never control their effect during chording which made it sound terribly out of tune. I suppose it takes a light, even touch, but I never could get used to it. Having said that, I think the H1 is a helluva deal if you can manage the frets and don't mind or change the pickups.
i have the highway one in black, i changed the brigde to a Seymor Duncan JB JR because i wanted better distortion, but now im changing every pickup in the guitar to lace sensors (red, silver, blue)
The Highway one single coil upgraded strats with Nitro daphne blue color from July-2006 to December- 31- 2007 are Rare. Only 1500 were made in Nitro daphne blue color during the dates shown. Today there sell for $1,200 and more stock. Dont change a thing.

That's not true! I have a Highway One Strat which is made in the U. S. and I newly bought it!!!
norwegianbrowncheese 2 years ago
I just purchased my 2009 Hwy strat HSS last week at guitar center. they list at 900 got mine for $640.00 out the door. They are better then the first one that came out a few years ago. upgraded pickups.

i have a big problem , i bought a fender stratocaster highway one and i have real problems with tuning ! i cant do bends or use the whammy bar ! is every highway one like this?
alldini 3 years ago
I do not think that every HW is like yours in tuning. Bends do not cause any problem with mine, but using whammy bar could be problematic.
It depends on strings, bridge, setup etc.
I would suggest, take it back to the shop where you bought it, they may help solving this problem.
csuri1966 3 years ago
im about to get a HW is it a great guitar? i dont want to spend the money and it suck...do u have any complaints?...how long have u been playing...what would u rate it?
eddiefan36 3 years ago
If you like Fender sound, you won't be disappointed. If you looking for something like "Eddie's" sound I would not suggest buying a Fender. I suppose you are an Eddiefan ...:-)
csuri1966 3 years ago
yea well i was gonna get one of theese but im hearing i should get a mexi instead of the HW
eddiefan36 3 years ago
k, i was kind of thinking of buying a highway one instead of buying the american standard to save money, is there even a big difference in quality or sound?
rikochiko 3 years ago
absolutely, I was reading a pile on the highway one and was pumped to try it out, I went to guitar world and played it then put it down and picked up and american standard and it was night and day, the standard just felt amazing compared to the highway one, if you like the idea behing the alnico pickups with greasebucket tone control circuit you can always do that to an american. but the feel is night and day different
puffdragon26 3 years ago
the highway one strat goes up in price on march 1st 2009. you wil pay $974.98 for the highway on. its worth every penny and more.
stratdem 2 years ago 2
Just got my brand new one at guitar center for 640.00 out the door. Sunburst with humbucker in the bridge.
baldguyshavemorefun 2 years ago
you got a great deal because the highway one sss and hss LIST - $1,130
AND RETAILS - $900 to $935
stratdem 2 years ago
dude they are 700 at gc now
zj16 2 years ago
i know they went on sale last week. its a damm shame there being discontinued.
the highway one sss was the best production strat made. it dusted the new american standards. oh well i have 3 2007's highway one sss so i have mine.but its still a damm shame.
stratdem 2 years ago
it sucks so bad i need to buy it while their still instock i want the honey blonde one
zj16 2 years ago
I have a highway one, don't know if is the upgrade or not. has the matte sunburst paint, rosewood neck and all single coil pickups. Has "original contour body", the old skinny head (i think like the ones in the 60's) and has a pretty standard looking bridge (no locking nuts or anything). It would be great if you know if it is a highway one or if it is the upgrade or not and if they are still sold ( bought mine in late 2005). thanks anyway.
jcadlols 2 years ago
the updates have a 70's style headstock with the real bold logo
teles4life 2 years ago
if you have the reverse wound/reverse polarity middle pickup then it is...switch ur pickup selector to 2 and 4 if theres a noticeable difference in hum then it is
stratdude83 2 years ago
yeah, it has a massive difference, not only in hum but also has less treble when mixing between middle and bridge. however mine is different to the one in the vid, it has rosewood frettboard and the slender less bulbous head stock. did this guitar come with many options ( it was bought for my birthday, but my music teacher want's one with the rosewood fret board+ slender head. i don't know if it will be easy to find)?
thanks.
jcadlols 2 years ago
i would think now they are getting harder to find but im sure you could still find one...maybe not get the color that you want but at least you'd have one ; )
stratdude83 2 years ago
yeah thanks. i love mine, and it is even more verstile than a regular strat, you gan get good sounds for satriani, santana, guns and roses, jimmy hendrix and practically everything else ( is good cos a lot of older songs did not mix pickups, so you can still get the traditional strat tone). when u use the reverse pickup u get a great beefy sound.... i love it. oh yeah and my guitar teacher is jealous.
jcadlols 2 years ago
its JIMI hendrix, not jimmy. just thought id help you out man =)
mulletman6970 2 years ago
yeah, i forget sometimes. I just write whatever comes in to my head at the time. Good to hear you respect one of if not the best guitarist of all time. :)

Oh the sweet irony. You do know the first song he is covering Van Halen right?
Isotech 3 years ago
yeah dude thats van halen... and once you get a little older you'll realize it's not about squeezing as many note in as small a space as possible, but it's about making good music.

Sexy guitar!
Got something like it, only with a humbucker pickup on it and with black accents. :)

I would like to change the standard pickups of my H1 to a new Fender SCN set. What do you think about?.
Pizmend 3 years ago
Not a bad idea, it may get a little more harsh and glassy sounding under gain though. I've been curious about that mod myself.

What Song are you playing? Your proving that its not just the type of guitar...but style and tone of the individual.... New pick-ups in guitar..curious... HSS or Standard Highway One
shineonprickley1975 3 years ago
The song is "316" from Van Halen. After that a play my own music. Pickups are SSS, absolutely standard solution, no modification on guitar.
I use Boss GT6, which helps a lot achieve a good sound.
csuri1966 3 years ago
i have this too! =) but un-upgraded hahaha.highway one is great!
amirhisyam 3 years ago
i have your exact guitar and let me tell everyone out there this is a great guitar for a great price.oh and but i dont play on clean i make my sound lean and mean and dirty!>=)

Hey I hate strats (and i have for the longest time), but they are now growing on me. I hate a question for you though, Why does it have two tone knobs?
And nice playing you are awesome.
JacoBluezz 3 years ago
I have the same strat and i love it. It has a very good tone and sound, and the sun-burst finish is nice too. Oh, and nice playing by the way...

Whats the difference between this one and a american standard?
SRVisthebest 3 years ago
The price!!!! : ))) Just kidding!
Unfortunately I am not expert in this issue, but I recommend the Fender homepage to collect information.
csuri1966 3 years ago
I've got the one and MY opinion is that the 2007 model is that it's very good and can very easy compare and come together with the standar! But it's only my opinion
vodkapower1986 3 years ago
the highway one has much better tone versatility and sustain than the new american standard. also if you have the highway one in daphne blue with maple figer board hold on to it there no longer avalable.
stratdem 3 years ago
the price in winnipeg is 999.99 plus tax , for a american one it's ab 1400.00 to 2000.00
peterlipinsky 3 years ago
hey bro just go to musicians friend and there only $749.00 free shipping , good deal
emachines007 3 years ago
I owned an H1 and now have a Standard. Aside from price, the two functional differences are Mexican-strat electronics and jumbo (or bigger) frets on the H1. Jumbo frets seem like a really cool idea, but I could never control their effect during chording which made it sound terribly out of tune. I suppose it takes a light, even touch, but I never could get used to it. Having said that, I think the H1 is a helluva deal if you can manage the frets and don't mind or change the pickups.
noslen1968 3 years ago
lovely sound
wahh.. need to get one
superniki1337 3 years ago
i have the highway one in black, i changed the brigde to a Seymor Duncan JB JR because i wanted better distortion, but now im changing every pickup in the guitar to lace sensors (red, silver, blue)
