Entourage Systems, Inc. has suddenly discontinued both their original, and pocket, eDGe Dualbooks as of late May 2011. Here is a new, unofficial support forum for all you orphaned users (run by an avid user who is not associated in any way, with the company...totally free, no strings attached):
i visited the website and it shows that 2010's edition has both touch screen and the screens are larger than this vid shows. anyways my dad wont let me get it till the price goes down (which it will... eventually).
p.s. i think her fingernails were getting in the way of the touchscreen lol
Why isn't anyone there to do demonstration on e-ink side? Turning pages alone is not too exciting (readers have already done a great job!). I imagine it could do a whole lot more than simply reading. And they really should show sth in English...
If I'll ever get one of these for my kid, the first thing I wanna make sure is he could write on it without pain, and everything should be printable. If that's the case, I'm definitely getting one.
the second one is really cool. a few more gens and i might buy one instead of a new netbook...
Btw you dont tap with yor finger nails you have to tap it with your finger tips. Those touch screens work on electrical charge. and nails is just dead bone...
omg! i been talking to my friends and said someting like this would be awesome! But what i imagined was a eink display on back and a regular laptop on the inside.. then it swiviled like a tablet. How kool would that be? a tablet eink netbook. You could display monochrome pics wile in "regular laptop mode" on the fly.
If there was one of those i would buy it in a heart beat!

I love that concept!
Really nice, I wonder why none of the big companies has come up with something like this yet. This could revolutionize reading and education.
